Soooo immaculately clean. No problems with the front desk. Incredibly comfortable pillows and bed. We arrived when it was dark, and left when it was dark, so I wasn't able to observe the true sketchiness of the 'hood. I felt safe. There was a bit of street noise, but not too bad. Better than my husband's snoring.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It's one of the more affordable hotels in Oakland; however, the place was clean and in good repair. Would definitely stay again.

The staff were kind and efficient. The room was clean and the bathroom was well maintained. It was a comfortable stay.

Wifi is overal pretty fast, small microwave, and the beds pretty comfy.

Real clean can't complain a microwave and a frige.

Stayed there for a couple of months while working. Very friendly staff and the rooms were always clean. Bad part of town but the staff did a good job at keeping the vagrants off of the premises.

Not a good area of Oakland in terms of aesthics. Nice accommodations and friendly Innskeepers. The beds are very fresh and comfy.

I am medical traveler, stay quit often. This time … loud TV next door (down stairs) … all night. Never had this issue upstairs…

Very elegant, I felt like the pretty woman.

Motel is extremely noisy. I had sleepless night : (due to heavy traffic and next room guests having discussion until early morning.

Who wants to be right on the street line. Is welcome here… rooms were OK.

Looks like a 4 star hotel from the inside even though the outside looks like a motel. Super quick check in/out. Great value compared to other nearby options.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Parking is pretty limited in the place. Although it's easy to park in the sorroundings, it's not advisable (the hood looks quite bad). The room was just perfect for what's needed to sleep. Big bed, nice bathroom and clean, so pretty much better than you would expect for the price. Nice stay overall.

I give praise in the quality of the room because it was clean and beautiful. Customer service needs more improvement. Guy in the front desk wasn't really the friendliest staff. No courtesy at all. Not even a simple greeting. I would have given at least 4 stars if the service was at least friendly.

Chose it as an alternative to the hotels of San Francisco, the room with a double bed was comfortable and air-conditioned, comfortable bed and a nice color range of furniture. Lived a week. In 2015

The worst place they are racists. Very rude plz don't do especially if ur black, mexican etc. The man pre judged me on sight he called me ignorant and stupid and he told me I couldn't stay there. I had already paid on line. He said I was lying I showed him the proof, he then called security. I would not leave until my account was credited back. Which he then tried to charge me a cancelation fee. Disgusted! RACISM STILL? I can't believe how I was treated.

I had a pleasant stay. The room are good the beds are comfy and cleaning service was also great. Overall I would come back. Friendly staff I did wait a bit but she was nice and explained that the weather wasn't usually like like this (it was pouring) and apologized and offered information of surrounding area. Plus if u dont mind mexican food trucks, down the street you can see some called tacos sinalo really good burritos extra big if u get the super burrito and tortas are good too. Cash only though. I had a great trip all in all.

It was very good experience in Continental Lodge. Clean room, free Wi-Fi, Hair dryer, Iron+Board, Microwave, Refrigerator, Coffee, Bottles of water, Air Conditioned and heater. As long as parking is concern Oakland has very compact parkings in all over city. Continental Lodge has also nice and clean parking but that was OK. Good front desk staff, very friendly and helping. I've lived in many one star motels to five star hotels, if I compair motels and lodges I've found Continental Lodge was very good.

I liked nothing about it… this place is horrible, very rude uninviting staff. We drove all the way from Seattle Washington to visit family and when we bring someone to our room we get a call immediately saying oh sorry there is no visitors allowed! And I laugh like what? You can not be serious, the whole reason we came here is to visit! She says I do not care those are the rules. At this point I'm livid, mind you I have a six year old son with a disability and she says to me oh well you guys can just check out then, it is 3:26 pm and check in time is at 3:00 so I say OK yes give me a refund and she says yes for tomorrow I will, and I said no I want one for today and tomorrow it's only 3:26 and we paid for a previous night just so we can check in when we arrived instead of waiting until 3:00pm, well to make a long story short she just kept calling and harassing us while we are trying to figure out what to do next. So she refunds my card only for one night, without any signature from me or any type of confirmation saying yes I authorize this and agree to leave at 11am in the morning, instead she just does it and tells us to leave in the morning. Very big inconvenience and frankly she ruined my trip! Also hotel is very dirty!

Not pet friendly. Kicked us out on our 3rd day there because we had a small dog. The male manager didn't say anythingfor two days even though he saw us with our dog entering our room. It was the rude and nasty female manager who made us leave. We didn't know that no pets were allowed when we booked the room or we would have gone elsewhere. The only posting on the premises was a tiny little blue "sign" on the bottom of their office door. Never noticed it. The room was basic and not clean. They entered the room when we were gone to change towels, though we didn't want them in the room. Not private or cool. In the middle of Chinatown and prostitutes use the place. Stay away if you want quite, privacy and a nice place. Oakland in general, sucks. Will never go back!

Great Motel. Free parking. Lots of cafes and shops. We went to the room after repair has a very clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Recommend!

We stayed at the continental Lodge on 9-12-15 and 9-13-15. We spent 3 days in San Francisco, 4 days in L. A. And 8 days in San Diego. The people in San Francisco and L. A. Are the rudest people I have ever encountered. After 15 days honeymooning in California we returned home and checked our email only to find the people at the continental Lodge charged our credit card not the agreed to $108. Per night for 2 nights but charged us for 4 nights My experience at crossing the Oakland toll bridge was a nightmare. I got in the fast lane and when I realized I was in the wrong lane it was impossible to change lanes. I went on thru what was the prepaid lane and ended up getting a $25. Fine and it took an hour and a half to get to the Fisherman's Wharf We went next to L. A. And found it to be like San Francisco with the rudest people in the world. The traffic is absolutely miserable and if you drive only75 miles and hour you will get constantly honked at and nearly run over If you change lanes you must do so at a speed of 85. There is no speed limit. I have learned to go to ONE destination, stay in the same location and the same motel and avoid the stress of using the impossible G. P. S. Best Western is the motel to stay at! They are GREAT. Avoid the Continental Lodge! Where I live in Indiana a 4 lane divided highway is a super highway. In L. A. It's 7 lanes one way and cars going 120 miles an hour. Some places it takes an hour to go 2 miles, traffic is so bad VERY STRESSFUL Don W.
