The staff at the Portofino are very respectful and courteous. I had a problem with a room I booked and Alfredo went above and beyond to make sure I felt as comfortable as possible. The exterior appeared to be under some remodeling when I attended, but the room interiors were excellent, very clean, and modernized. I would recommend to any traveller looking for a clean room, good service and a nice bed.

This motel is great! I came to watch the overwatch league and wanted to stay close by. I'm glad this motel was here. It is recently remodeled on the inside and it looks great!

Ill start w negatives: I was told the room will have bottle of water for free, no waters. I got what im assuming to be the handicap room due to the bathroom w walkin shower, very slippery for the handicap or disable guest. Water splatter all over, had to put towels on the floor while showering. Door lock didnt not locked, the hole wasnt at the same level as the lock. The room was remodeles, seemed had new carpet, new paint on the walls, new tile floor in bathroom, looks ahower walk still needs to be finish off. They need a new shower head, w more water pressure. And maybe a shower curtain, to stop water to spill all over. And again slippery floor, almost fell 3 times. Who ever installed their picture frames didnt use a Level tool, both picture frames are crooked, see bellow, probably xant tell by picture I took. Also I needed to use the hairdryer and I couldnt use it in the bathroom bcs the mirror fram was overlapping the electrical outlet, so the plug didnt fit, see pics bellow. positives: 3 stars for friendly staff, flexible to acomodate guest, nice continental breakfast, they are in process of remodeling. They run and operate the dinner next door.

The rooms were recently renovated and were clean, spacious, and had a fridge and a microwave. The breakfast was good in the morning, coffee was average. It seemed a bit pricy, but overall we enjoyed our stay and had no complaints.

Disgusting, unsanitary dump. Non smoking smelled like Smoking room. Floors dirty, false eyelashes embedded in carpeting… Run from this dump. Booked through Expedia would not refund any of my money. Filed with BBB complaint.

Not impressed. The rooms are tired, the building looks run down. No bugs which is a plus. I slept with lights on just in case. Fairly close to a number of decent restaurants and places to see. If you need simplicity, this is fine… but this type of hotel is exactly why I tend to choose Air BnB these days.

Had to get last min reservations and we really enjoyed it. The rooms were nice and price was good and all the employees were kind. The only thing I didn’t like was that there weren’t door latches on the doors that you could lock from the inside, only a deadbolt that opens when you turn the handle and kids can easily open them.

I booked this hotel because there were many good reviews and some bad reviews. Upon arriving I found the appearance of the motel to be old and dirty looking. There were several unsavory looking young men… some without shirts standing around smoking weed. Room had foul odor and bed looked slept on. Toilet paper holder was hanging out of the wall. I took my family and left. I was denied a refund. (Pros) Desk clerk was friendly. We found a nice hotel nearby at additional cost. SORRY, but people deserve better than this. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

Love this place… Everyone is so helpful. When I need a place quick and easy, just to get away from BS. This is the place to go. Relax in a comfy bed. Franks Restaurant is so awesome. It's a home away from home.

Great value! This hotels was much cheaper than nearby hotels but it doesn't seem to be missing anything that nearby hotels might have. It's a not frills hotel but if you are paying around $125 a night it can't be beat! Located in a very walkable neighborhood close to nearby attractions like universal studios or the zoo.

We stayed here for almost 11 days in June and it is a great value for money deal. From the complimentary breakfast to an ever welcoming reception team, Portofino is a great location to stay in as it is next door to the studios and malls. Alfredo, Eli and Duane Richmond are great people who will ensure that you would get every help you need. The restaurant Frank's is a great place to dine but is on the higher side.

I recently spent a week at this hotel — that experience was just as perfect as any travel plans could provide. The hotel amenities were most accommodating but even more so was the staff at the front desk or with room service daily maintenance. I would especially like to commend Alfredo who was always accessible to help with whatever I might inquire about, I felt that he never slept because he was always on duty, working to help the travelling client and also showing a concern for his position; he was always available to work for his employer to make our visit just perfect. I often felt that whatever your staffs might earn, they certainly deserve at least that remuneration or double — they all worked effortlessly for the client and for their employer! My compliments to these workers and many thanks for their help during my stay.

Everything overall was good. The rooms were noticeably old, like stains on the carpet. I would likely stay here again due to the good price.

It's a good place to stay, a little older but not bad for the price. The staff is super friendly and very helpful if you need anything.

Hotel-Motel of average quality. A lot of noise in the rooms because of the proximity to the road.

I love this place. Very nice location and not too old or tacky. Lots of great places to visit nearby, and the location in Burbank is convenient. Love the 24/7 office and the continental breakfast. Stayed here 3 nights a and had a great time. Bedbugs were NOT an issue and the room was very neat and tidy. Of course, I made sure to inspect every inch of the room, bath, and bed before setting my stuff down. The breakfast is underwhelming, BUT perfect for snacking on a budget. The breakfast consists of just bagels, muffins, English muffins, danishes, cream cheese, butter, jelly, fruits, cereal, milk, juice and coffee. Leaves one longing for protein, but at least the stuff is still delicious. You could always get soup or an egg around the corner at Frank's. Warm water always, working air conditioning, adequate drawer space for the clothes of two people, a ~40" flatscreen, a mini fridge and microwave. And — I love this — two fresh bottled waters. This was a great and comfy location and I literally saw it was my home away-from-home during my stay in Burbank. Might likely stay again.

The pictures on the website look great. Once you get there, you notice that the rug is old and stained. The room we had did not have any soap or shampoo. There was a faint dirty odor. The towels are old and hard. I wouldn't come back to this place.

Give back the wedding ring housekeeping took! This hotel is trying to cover the theft so do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

Close to everything. No swimming pool, Square pillows and low water pressure in the shower stopped it from being a 5 star.

What might be a visual turn-off to some, I find as a huge positive. I speak, of course, of the exterior that looks like a motel out of the 50s or 60s. There's a reason it's that way: location shoots. The pilot of CBS's SCORPION and some scenes of NBC's Aquarius were shot at the Portofino and Frank's Cafe, which is also in the property, which makes it a great asset to the entertainment biz. Inside, the rooms are comfortable, as are the beds. There's a mini-fridge, microwave, desk, chest of drawers, bureau to hang up nicer garments, and wired and wireless free internet access. In the office, you'll find free continental breakfast consisting of juices, milk, cereal, coffee, bagels, pastries, and the like. You'll also find a great staff that will call to check if you need maid service, towels or just to make sure your stay is pleasant. When we visit, we stay here for all those reasons. So please forget everything I talked about, because we want to make sure there's vacancy when we come to town.

Room was clean, area was quite, TV was in 720p and didn't have a lot to choose from. When I noticed that I didn't have much water pressure, the hotel moved me next door with any quips. Friendly staff. I would stay here again. Didn't try out the breakfast so can't speak to it.

They were very accommodating when adding another night. Clean room, did show some wear on furniture and felt the need to put toilet paper on the seat. Maid service was ever so slightly intrusive, and the breakfast is sub par. Overall, it's okay at a convenient location and price. However, personally, I felt the price was a little steep for the amenities and room size. The restaurant attached is alright for an omelette; service was poor.

Was very discouraged when I pulled up to the parking lot. Not very nice looking, but once inside the room, wow not bad at all. The room was very clean, bed very comfortable, remodeled bathroom with granite walls. Came with all the amenities one would need for their stay. Close to Universal Studios and Warner Bros Studio. Not far from Hollywood either if driving. I still knocked off a star due to the outside and parking lot. Parking lot was really tight when we got back late at night. Still wish it was $10 off the asking price, but I'd stay again if visiting this area.

Very clean great location. Near the Nickelodeon studios and a few blocks from a huge shopping and dining area.

Best value in the area. Close to studio's and universal in minutes from downtown Burbank. Do not get discouraged by exterior. The interior is mordern and loaded with amenities, the beds are very comfortable and most of all verry, very clean. Management very helpful. Grest place to stay for all! well done.
