Not clean. Stains (including blood) everywhere. Heard strange noises and a loud bang in the middle of the night. Water smelled terrible. Sketchy location. They charged around 200 a night. Should have been 40 for what we got. Don't let them rip you off because of a special event like comicon.

Always happy with my stay here. And a special shout out to Debbie at the office for her EXCELLENT customer service each and every time. The world needs more professional and friendly people like her!. UPDATE: August 2018 :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::. Unfortunately the EZ8 in Old Town have raised there rates and priced me out of the opportunity to stay here. I'm disappointed because I really enjoyed this establishment.

Close to Old Town San Diego and the city's fantastic transportation system. The rooms are fine, they aren't fancy but I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe. The room has a refrigerator and an old tube t. V. With very few channels, no microwave or coffee pot but coffee is served in the lobby each morning. If you don't plan to spend your day in the room and want to get out to see the city, this is a convenient and inexpensive place to do it.

Cheap price for the area. Non smoking room had multiple burn holes in fabrics and a musty smell of a once smoking room. There was a random wet spot in the room. Needed the high speed Wi-Fi that the website boasted of but it did not exist. Great friendly staff. Prompt service.

I liked it. It wasn't anything fancy. It had a bed, table with chairs, a/c and a bathroom, just what we needed. All of which was really clean. And the price was really reasonable, especially on a holiday weekend.

We've been lodging at EZ8 motel the past few months for travel and honestly, we haven't had issues at all. The bed is very comfortable. Clean rooms. Queit for the most part and if there is issues, there is security every night and takes care of it promptly. The TV and the cable choices aren't that great but worth the price. It works for us.

The room was quiet. No problems there. It is walking distance to Old Town. And mini fridge was in the room. I would go back.

It's in a weird part of town super close to the freeway and railroad, but surprisingly it's a quiet place. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I've been to other "better" hotels motels, but smelled and felt dirty. I would stay here again especially because it's so close to Old Town.

Well I would give this place a zero star but I had to click on a star. But anyways I would not recommend this place to anyone! My wife and I booked a room a month before arriving and when we arrived to get our room we were told they didn't have our room and they were all booked for the weekend. As we were in the lobby 2 cop cars drove by looking for someone. Warning floks this place is a ghetto don't waste your time and money here.

It was night, I could not appreciate KAS hotel conditions.

My family stays here all the time. We're very familiar with the staff and they all treat us with respect. The rates are generally the best around here. The only things we dislike about this motel is the fact that the rooms could use a bit of upgrading. Nothing fancy, but they need some updating for sure. And one of the security guards really doesn't do his job well. When he works things sometimes get noisy or things that should be taken care of, aren't handled properly at night. Otherwise we like staying there.

It's under the freeway. This current but for the money you pay compared to other hotels you can not claim.

I had a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The location is very convenient to The Trolley system in Old Town San Diego with a restaurant nearby.

The rooms have a bad smell very strong.

This hotel was horrible. I booked a room for four days through their website not a third party site, when I arrived they stated that they had no vacancies and I would have to wait for them to do the audit at 3am in order to put me in a room, I was instructed to wait at a Denny’s about a mile down the road until I was called. Also while speaking to the front desk shady characters walking the premises as well as the train station rite behind the hotel. Will definitely not attempt to stay here ever again. Had to give a star in order to post because it does not deserve a star.

EZ8 is a clean, sparsely, decorated motel located off Pacific Highway and Taylor Street within walking distance of Old Town, about. 5 miles. The walk is along and a very busy road and across railroad tracks but doable. The rooms could use updating but there is a small refrigerator in the room.

Was not impressed. The parking lot is tight and the parking spaces are too small. The room smelled of cigarettes and seemed plain because it lacked pictures on the walls. Does not have a blow dryer or an iron. I don't think I'll come here again.

I would like to say that even though I didn't stay at the hotel, due to flight complications, Leonard the manager was exceptional with refunding the money for the hotel room. Very helpful and I definitely will be staying there when I go to San Diego. Thanks guys.

A dump. Poor management. Can't use a hair dryer, curling iron or charge cell phones. Big note in room stating due to poor power supply do not plug in anything. Stains and pubic hair on sheets, one bed the whole corner was saturated from something. Cops At Motel Upon arrival, Guys fighting. This motel is an extended stay. Workers use it on a monthly basis. Got to my room, 2 guys who were drunk and standing there smoking weed, we're hitting on me. Then proceeded to walk by my room and look in the window. Freeway goes over the top of motel and a train goes behind the motel. Booked for 2 nights. Wasn't in the room for about 15 minutes. Called to cancel but was told I could leave if I want but they would not reimburse me for either night. Being on vacation was trying to save money, HUGE mistake. Please think twice about this motel, especially if you have children. I very rarely complain, but this place was utterly a big mistake in booking.

Very cheap rates. Somewhat clean and cozy rooms. Convenient location near many places to enjoy. Ok customer service.

If I could give a — I so would stayed here 2 days only because they refused to refund my money back. I have a service dog with me and the corner of the room was the only place I felt safe to put him till I got him to a kennel. Got woke up at 3 in the morning to people fighting outside my room. Went to store for about a hour came back to my window screen being pulled off. FREE Wi-Fi That's A JOKE. It cost $5 per hour. Maid service is a joke as well, all the lady did was remake the bed with the same sheets and blankets she just switched the blankets from one bed to the other. This place should be demolished.

Over priced. Rooms are not nice. Location not good. 1970 TV in room. Good thing is public transportation hub just down the street. Buses, Trolley and Amtrak train stop here.

Location is ok and easy to get to, though appears to be a location for the homeless to hang out. Staff was nice while checking in and grounds are well kept. Rooms are a drab and very outdated and found a few roach carcasses. Probably wont stay again.

Clean, good attention. Old Town Station is close by so if you don't have a car, it's a good option. Seems retired but in transport you arrive relatively fast at any point.

Ive stayed at this place a couple times and I kinda liked it. Its tucked away from all the hustle of town. But one room I got there did have a squishy carpet like if it had been wet. The price is great and staff are great. If your an economy shopper this is a great place.

The location of the ez8 is great because it is right near one of the main trolley stops so you can get literally anywhere in San Diego In no time. Besides that the hotel itself is centered in a prime business location. There are stores and shops by the dozen in a few blocks radius. The hotel is older and it shows but it is safe and secure. It offers a pool and on-site laundry facilities too.

It gets the job done. Simple rooms, allows dogs but there are breed restrictions. Staff seems nice, there's a pool. I can't say I'll stay again but they are very budget friendly.

Service is of course not much to expect in a motel, nevertheless the reception at check-in was very friendly. There were plenty of parking spaces. The pool which is available looked small but for a cool down certainly good enough. The room was also perfect for a motel. As a whole, it was a satisfactory motel.

Room was clean. Water for the shower, nice & hot. Mattress was very hard. The train going by was loud & clear. Depending on any chiropractic issues the bed would either aggravate current symptoms or help. Bring your own pillows.

I am exceptionally dissatisfied with this motel. My experience began with the person at the front desk yelling at us because we were 30 minuets early. Forgive me for being prompt. Next issue is my wife and I were there for five days so we requested that maid service did not clean our room because we had all our personal items out. Did they listen? course not. I had to remind them three times before I just gave up. The "hot tub" was warmish at best, but it was defiantly far from a relaxing hot tub. If you can afford it, go somewhere else.

Ha. This place is a joke. One: no pad locks on door, maid walked in on us because they also don't have "do not disturb" signs. Two: when we got there, the fridge door was open and we came to find out that the fridge doesn't even work. Three: there is a cop that stays on the premise at all time. This didn't make a feel safe at all. It felt sorta invasive. I saw cockroaches, black widows and other bugs in my room. There was a blood stain on the lamp shade, toilet was dirty was we got there, I mean the list goes on and on. I guess you get what you pay for. Not recommended.

Nice Motel. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi. But the internet is paid.

This hotel was aweful. The room smelled badly. The bed was worn out. The carpet was stained and dirty. It was very noisy.

It was $54 a night. All other motels were twice that amount. Rooms were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Location was great, it was in the middle of everything so I didn't have to drive far. I got what I payed for and then some. Great deal and a gray experience.

Got to The hotel and my reservation was cancelled because I did not make it for check in at 6 p. M. And I did not know that was a requirement. I had to make other plans at the last minute. It was a good thing because my friend stayed there and the roof was leaking. Not to mention the hotel is located directly under a highway overpass and it was extremely loud. Glad they cancelled my reservation!

Well… I'm giving this joint 4 stars but I know for sure not a lot of other folks are. The place looks sketchy as hell! Dudes outside wearing wife beater shirts, lookin' like thugs. Walked right by them to our room. Security was on site and my car didn't get broken into it. The room was clean and very simple. For $58 I got what I paid for and was completely happy with it.

In a good location, the rooms were decent sized, but smelled very damp. Over all a decent experience for the cost.

I'd stay away, rather loud with a freeway overpass built directly over the motel, surprised that's allowed. The rooms are pretty bare, the thinnest toilet paper in the world along with flimsy towels, I'm not particularly picky to begin with but this is pretty abysmal.

Joie de vivre hotels are some of my favorite and this one didn't disappoint. The staff is very friendly and everything about this place is environmentally conscious. The restaurant looks good but I didn't get to try it. The room was comfortable and chic in a bohemian type of way. The location is perfect as it is right in the middle of it all.

Great location, cheap for a reason but all in all appreciated it's very close walking distance to Old Town Station.

My neighbors showers worked but mines didn't. You can practically hear footsteps, conversations, and water lines from nearby rooms. It's great I'm only staying for a night. You're better off at a motel 6 for $10 more. You can also feel the ground shake when the old town train passes by, not great for relaxation. If you're out of the room more than in its not a bad place.

Rooms very dirty and outdated, floors stained, bugs, dirty towels, rude staff, and sketchy people who stayed there… would not recommend to my worse enemy.

I'm giving this place one star because of the staff was some what helpful. I would not coming here again nor would I recommended it to anyone. The beds are extremely hard and very uncomfortable. Cleanliness was very effortless. The tub was still dirty from the guests before us, disgusting! The trash bin was not taken out from thr guest before us. The carpet was ripped and not vacuumed. Fortunately for us we only had to stay there overnight for a few hours. On my room door it said non-smoking room however a reeked of smoke. They didn't bother to air out the room or the very least spray Air freshener. overall like I said it's a very effortless motel. A sense of "I don't care attitude". I'm surprised the beds were done however the way the room was cleaned "Half assed" they probably didn't wash my sheets before my arrival. Ez 8 is a fail.

Don't stay at this motel staff is rude. Bad part of town. Plus found dog food and bugs in my room. Was given a can of bug spray to spray my own bugs. Plus contacted corporate office and still no refund on my room. So I rate this a zero.

HORRIBLE! We have stayed here many times in the past and it was great, this time we tried to check in was a NIGHTMARE! Let me start with the 2 Spanish girls who think who they are in the front office… They like to go in the back and use vulgar language because they think white people aren't fluent in it for one… It started out with out room not having working air and they said they all work that way… then I noticed dirty bedding, nightstands filled with sticky soda stains and a filthy bathroom floor that had not been clean in god knows how long due to the massive spider and web on the floor! Oh I forgot to mention the massive infestation of ants that was in the room that I managed to bring home with me as well! I said we were leaving and told them to credit my card. They refused… After the manager cam out they used vulgarities about me in spanish. I have been calling booking all week to get a refund… Now I had to file a dispute with the credit card company… Are they that hard up for the money? I wish I could contact the owner and let him know how his staff treats people… they should be FIRED!
