Very clean modern looking rooms. Bed is very comfy. Internet is fast. Shower works great. Staff is extremely friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

The location is great in Gaslamp walkable distance to nearly every downtown restaurant, the convention center, and entertainment. 12 minuets from the airport and easy access to the highway. At check in I was greeted with a shot of some pretty good glass of bourbon. My room was small even after my complimentary upgrade, and the view is literally of a courtyard. This is the first hotel that my check in gift was a cookie, and it was delicious! The beds are cool beds that are just okay, noting to write home about. The reason this is a lower review is the lack of black out curtains; these were clearly an afterthought. Light enters the room all around, so if you’re looking to sleep in and get a refreshed night this isn’t the place. The roof top bar and restaurant was great. If the curtains were not such a PITA this would be a high 4 star review.

I had such a great stay at this hotel! The upgraded room was amazing with a beautiful view. Thank you to both Sergio and Emily for making sure my stay was perfect! I felt extra special for my birthday weekend.

It's a courtyard and everyone is really nice, the rooms feel clean and updated but they are pretty small. There's very little counter space in the bathroom. The sheets are very soft though and the bed is pretty comfortable. It has a great location but it's more of a boutique hotel instead of your regular courtyard.

The rooms are a little small, but the bathrooms are a great size. All of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great area near everything most people would need for a short stay (less than a week). I would stay here again if I'm in San Diego.

This is a great place to stay! It is a fantastic location. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early which was amazing since we wanted to spend the day driving around San Diego and La Jolla. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

The hotel was very modern looking and clean. The service was also top notch and we had no issues getting extra towels and shampoo. The rooms were also nicely updated and looked great. I would definitely stay here again.

The gym at this hotel had a very small amount of equipment and was about the size of a closet. I would stay here again, but only for a short trip, if it was longer than 3 days I would go elsewhere.

My room was nice and clean. Bed was firm but not too firm. The bathroom was clean as was the shower. The decor was modern but plain. My room had no view. Staff were very friendly and we chatted a bit at check in. The room had several USB charger ports. Great location for going to the Conference Center.

We attended for an event at Omnia nightclub, so the location was perfect. The room was a pretty standard double queen room, but it was very clean. Check-in process was quick and easy, staff was kind and helpful. Convenient text system for requests and valet parking.

They took very good care of us during our five nights there. Took full advantage of the free wine at happy hour, and the cafe provided some great breakfast options before we headed out for the day. Location was also very convenient.

I stayed at this hotel while I was in town for a Conference. The staff was friendly and greeted me with a sample of their house barrel aged bourbon. It was close to the convention center and within walking distance or an Uber to anywhere you wanted to go. I was leaving at 4 am and had to walk to get my car and the manager offered to drive me since it was still dark out. He went above and beyond. Highly recommended!

Great location, amazing rooftop (The Nolen) and outstanding staff, Sergio, Andrew, Karla, Ariel and the rest of the crew when above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. You have a plethora of restaurants, bars and clubs within a 3 block radius. Definitely is the place to stay on a budget, very reasonable priced compared to rest of hotels, rooms are sleek and modern.

The location was perfect — one short block away from 5th Street (where all of the pubs and restaurants are), and only a few blocks away from the marina and convention center. The rooms were slightly smaller than other similar properties where I have previously stayed, but this property is located right in the middle of the Gas Lamp District. Otherwise, the rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable.

The location of this Courtyard Marriott is perfectly located downtown, close to the water, and near the Padres stadium. They allowed us a very late check-out at 4p. The room was nicely sized with plenty of room and storage for your belongings. Service was attentive and provided us towels within minutes of asking. Overall, our experience was great and would stay again.

Great location. Room was earned by rewards points. Wouldn't have wanted to pay for it. Valet parking$47. Free street parking if you can find it.

Nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are tiny but nice. Staff is very friendly. Food in the area is pricey. I got a room with a view of another hotel wall. Overall it's a good hotel.

It's a clean place. Middle of gaslamps clubs area. Service is a bit slow. A little pricy.

Rooms are very small. Valet parking is horrible. Waited more than 30 minutes last night to receive my car and today another 30 minutes. This is after texting ahead. $47 parking nightly btw. My advice. Pay a little bit more and get much more at any hotel in gas lamp. Won’t be staying here again. — Disappointed platinum elite member.

Courtyard gave away my room the first night but comped the room and put me up at the Residence Inn. After checking in night two the toilet handle was missing the retaining washer so the handle didn't work. Day 3, somehow the anti intruder latch got flipped while I wasnt in the room so maintenance had to help me get in. The room was clean as expected.

All the staff very friendly. The rooms were small but very clean and comfortable. Excellent location one block from the best area to eat or have a drink in Gaslamp.

We had a very nice experience at the Courtyard Marriott. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. The staff was nice and the little bar on the second level even gives free drinks to guests during Happy Hour! I would be happy staying here again.

Sad to think you book a place to enjoy your birthday and they can’t even return your jewelry you accidentally left behind or get maintenance supervisor on the phone after they have you call 100 times giving you the run around! I swear I hate thieves! Couldn’t even get anyone nice on the phone or a sorry even tho I know where it exactly was placed set and left! I will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone ever!

Great Marriott in a prime location. Right across from Omnia. Great place to stay if the Gaslamp is the place you want to party! Rooms are nice and clean as always and has a nice rooftop bar.

The location is amazing, right in the heart of the Gaslamp area in San Diego. The room is very clean and provides a nice modern style washroom. There is a nice gym and you are free to order food or water up to your hotel. The only negative was a lack of water in the room or at any floor as only ice was available and if I wanted water, I'd have to purchase it. The service otherwise is amazing as the rooms are cleaned once a day and the staff are friendly when meeting.

The service at the front desk and rooftop bar was amazing. The room was nice and updated. Location was perfect because everything is in walking distance.

A nice place for a short stay in San Diego. It's a Courtyard Marriott trying to a boutique hotel. The staff is great, the service is wonderful and it is in a great location. The downside is it has the typical Courtyard Marriott Bistro which is ok in a pinch for food but by no means a place to eat regularly. The rooms are very small. The valet is slow. It is not completely the valets fault, the actual team is very friendly and hustle, it is that the lot is 5 blocks away so make sure to call ahead.

Nice enough place… But they left the alarm clock with a 4am alarm. Lost a star there.

Marriottgaslamp is one of most exceptional hotel experiences I have ever had. They have this new service where they text you to check in and see how your day is. Well, we had a rough day and they got us drinks to brighten our day! Thank you to Tania, Omar and Lunden!

The hotel staff has been great! I love the location as it is right in the heart of Gaslamp so easy walks to anywhere and not far from the water. We had a single king room for our stay and it was perfect. The bathroom is spacious and has all the amenities. I will recommend this Courtyard to anyone planning a trip to SD and I would love to return! Thanks for the great experience.

Clean and friendly staff. Uncomfortable beds. Nice location just off the Gaslamp quarter. No 24 hour room service. Mediocre food. Expensive drinks.

For me, the most important factor for staying at any hotel is getting a good nights sleep. Staying at this hotel is like being in a noisy apartment complex. You can hear every stomp of your neighbors st 4am. They allow parties to go on at all hours. It sounds like there is a club next door to our room. Also, for the type of upscale hotel you are trying to embody, upgrade your dang towels. These things are thin and ratty, like something you'd expect at a motel 6. Not impressed. Edit: the staff does seem to be trying to deal with some of the issues. However, they seem to be too understaffed and/or undertrained to properly handle the multiple situations they have.

Absolutely the worst service ever (late lunch). 2 servers in the room and only 4 tables occupied. Servers wandered around aimlessly, chatting amongst themselves, totally ignoring the diners. Food was OK at best but was quite pricey. Decor is non-existant — the room is just basically spray-painted back with 2 massive TV screens.

Rooms are very modern and clean. The interface on the TV stinks but it looks good so I will roll with it. Wi-Fi is fast enough to watch Netflix and there's a place to plug my laptop into the TV to watch it on the big screen. Big plus is all the great restaurants just a few feet from the front door. Gas lamp is a great area to hang out in at night.

I've definitely been to this hotel several times and I have always enjoyed my stay. This most recent time was to just grab drinks at their "Float" rooftop bar where they have a nice pool, cabanas and nice a nice sofa setup with fire pits to lounge about. The ambiance is awesome and it's great to look over the entrance of the Gaslamp District. The staff is also very courteous and helpful, they've stored my bottle of wine behind the reception counter for me last time and this time, they turned on the fire pit for my group when I requested and both of those were very nice of them to do. If you're there for the convention center, it's right across the street and makes your stay even more convenient. Even their hotel restaurants are nice, having nobu and another smaller restaurant inside the hotel. I highly recommend this location.

Awesome hotel and great location in Gaslamp. Check in was great, even though they didn't have my room ready when I got there. They did send me a text when my room was ready. Check out float, it's the rooftop bar on the fourth floor, great vibes.

Probably deserves a 4.5. It's a Hard Rock in downtown SD, what would one expect? Staff was super-friendly and gave us tips on local restaurants and bars. Upgraded to a suite for a 'small' fee but it was pretty worth it. I was on the top floor balcony playing the electric guitar that came with the upgrade! Room was split bed and living area with the bathroom stuffs in between. The bed was very comfy and rain shower was awesome! We used the hot tub in the morning and it was very peaceful over-looking the city. Room price was a bit steep but I guess we're paying for the name and reputation.

The hotel is fine. Modern decor. Round are a bit cramped and the elevators are always filled with non-guests going to the public roof top bar. My room wouldn't cool off… stayed about 76 degrees no matter what.

Very nice place to stay. The rooftop bar is a highlight; it has great food and drink options. Within walking distance of Petco Park, the convention center, and the heart of the gaslamp district. The only downside is that it's right in the middle of downtown, so it can be noisy late into the night. So if you're a light sleeper, that can be distracting. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Nice hotel, brand new. But they need to put in a dresser for your clothes. One a small closet to put hanging close. I would stay at the other Courtyard five blocks away.

The staff deserves 5 stars. Everyone I encountered was exceedingly polite, helpful, and accommodating. However, my room was so loud that I couldn't even sleep through the night. The first night was noisy, but tolerable. Luckily I had to be up early since construction across the street started at 7 AM. The second night, a Thursday, is when the Gaslamp really heats up. Around midnight I was awoken from a sound sleep to the bass thumping from the club across the street & people screaming. The hotel tried to be accommodating providing me with earplugs, but in the end, it was too loud and I had to move rooms in the middle of the night. The location is convenient and the room comfort is fine, but given that I couldn't even sleep through the night in my room, I would not return to this hotel. If you do, make sure you're not sleeping on the 3rd floor.

Had to give it 4 stars. Only due to the $40 valet parking charge… the room was a bit small but over all the stay was great. Also it's in the perfect location everything is in walking distance. Especially if your into clubs, bars, and lounges.

This is a brand new hotel in the Gaslamp district, close to Petco park but not the same Marriott that gives you the ballpark view. But I didn't mind that it didn't have a fancy view — it has an AMAZING rooftop bar (The Nolen — which is on what would be the 12th floor, so plenty high) and everyone on staff was extremely nice and wanted to do anything they could do improve my stay. It was pouring rain, but the moment I pulled up to the valet (and yes, they do charge the $40 valet per day like many of the other hotels in the area), Kevin was ready with an umbrella and a luggage cart. He even brought it all the way up to my room for me. Then later at The Nolen, Michelle was awesome in recommending the best food and drink — which were both delicious (and the fire pit with a twilight view of the city was perfect to relax). The room itself was a bit small, but this is a downtown, city hotel. It was just me, but even a couple probably wouldn't mind the standard room. I wouldn't recommend it for a group or a couple with kids (I'm not sure if the other rooms with multiple beds are bigger). The design of the hotel and my room are definitely new and modern, though. The bathroom is actually still a good size relative to the size of the room, and it had a walk-in shower. The only complaint I would have about room design itself is that the bathroom didn't have any real counter space for toiletries.
