Beautiful Luxury Hotel. I took my 14 year old for Birthday weekend and WE LOVED IT. The rooms were beautiful decorated. The beds and linens were so Fresh! The staff was so wonderful starting at Reception. The food at their restaurant was Fantastic! Thank You MARRIOT for helping create memories 🎉🥳

Room service took awhile but the management was real good. Clean rooms, good amenities, and a great restaurant.

The best for family stay and great hospitality fully recommend it.

No help with a luggage after I'm handicapped have to take everything out with my electric scooter no more only one person at the front desk she has some back in the floor well going reservations also in the morning 7 to 9 for breakfast she has to handle that also not good.

Love the staff, the decor and amenities! The rooms are well appointed. The staff are extremely helpful, professional, and efficient. I have stayed in 5 different hotels in the past week, and this was my favorite by far.

This hotel is a great deal. Its comfortable, quiet and has most of the things you need for a good night's rest. I would have given it 5 stars if the cleaning crew didn't throw out my brand new travel tooth brush and a full tube of toothpaste while they were sprucing up the room the second day of our stay. It was replaced by their dental kit which contained one serving of tooth paste and a pretty cheap toothbrush. Overall I'd say you should risk it, but put away your prized toiletries when you decide to leave your room for the day.

Ok so I've a few issues while at this location but the staff have been amazing. Truly. When ever I brought something to their attention ok n it was handled immediately and offered us comps for any inconvenience without us asking for them, I just wanted to make things were right and wasn't looking for any discounts. Bill I believe his name was was an amazing help. Rooms were almost immaculate (that's was the one issue that arose that they offered a discount on) and very modern. We loved this location and will be staying again.

The rooms and hotel were beautiful and updated. My only complaint would be that it took, 4 follow up calls within a 3 hour time frame to have extra towels, and a roll away bed brought up to our room. Also the thermometer in the room was on a scheduled timer that I was unable to change. During the day time, the temp was set at 78 degrees. To warm to be comfortable.

I stayed in the Executive suite for a short overnight stay. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean and well laid out. Even though it was only one night, my stay was great. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in town. There are plenty of things around the hotel as well. The traffic isn't much to talk about, but from what I was told, it's normal traffic for the locals.

Lobby, gym and restaurant are nice. There's happy hour until 7pm. Pool and outside lounge area is also very cool. What's not so great: 1. Thin walls. I've stayed at a few hotels in this area for work and the walls are the thinnest (or sound travels better in their halls) than the Hampton or Double Tree. 2. This is temporary but there's construction and the floor I was on (3rd) smelled of fresh paint and drywall. 3. Buzz… I couldn't figure out what it was but I heard it all night. Maybe a giant construction fan? Or the next door bathroom fan? Or something from the floor below… Couldn't find the source that kept me up for a long time. I'm a heavy sleeper but this one was tough.

The room we got was very clean and modern, they appear to be remoddeling the hotel and we got a new room. The restaurant down stairs is amazing they even brought the food up to our room. The on site pool and fitness center were very nice and modern as well. I would definitely stay there again.

One of the worst Marriott I have experienced. The front desk staff were rude and dishonest. Room was dated and not clean. Speaking as a Platinum Premier member who had over 160 stays in various Marriott hotels worldwide last year. Also the only Marriott I know of that charges Platinum members for "free upgrade". Never go back again! BTW, the best experience I had last year got to be the Vienna Marriott next to Stadtpark, staff being so classy, pleasant, professional, and going out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and welcoming, plus convenient location, great concierge lounge and food, … in contrast the Marriott Del Mar hotel feels like a typical American motel… enough said.

Very clean and modern venue to host a conference in San Diego with easy freeway access. Central location for the entire county of San Diego. The amenities include a pool, spa, excersise room in addition to the high quality rooms you would expect from Marriot. The staff gives 5 star service with a smile.

Very negative treatment of female guests in terms of room choice and overall customer service. Horrible front desk service with very little caring about any concerns… always have some scripted answer that they do not deviate from no matter how serious your concerns. Hallway smells, housekeeping areas with propped open doors and safety risks. Asked for a room change due to security concerns and was told only that "we are booked"… my reservation was booked weeks in advance. (And I am an Elite Platinum member. But sadly a woman as the man ahead of me got a 10th floor renovated room? ) Room was dated with old furniture but the biggest disappointment was the dismal service provided at this front desk. Parking by the way is overpriced and just adds to the insults that this property and the staff provide to its customers.

A very nice Hotel, currently going thru renovations. Yet, no major impact to my visit. The staff is very professional and helpful. I enjoyed the newly remodeled room, Hotel Lobby, Restaurant and Bar. Self parking is convenient and the price is right. The trip to San Diego Airport only took 16 minutes during morning rush hour, very important to me.

Good atmosphere! Inviting, warm and Fresh Sushi at the bar! Good view from inside, outside there's a rather large lounging area… Going back for sure.

Was here for a father and daughter dance night at one of the event room. A nice and spacious place.

The lobby is pretty and the staff is nice but the rooms and amenities are subpar for the price when adding an extra $20/day for parking. The elevator in the parking garage dropped and jerked which was scary. The TVs are old and small, the bed was horrible, an old well used spring mattress which was surprising because even lesser hotels I’ve stayed in over the past 3 years have had memory foam. The coffee/snack area in the lobby left a lot to be desired too, there was an open carton of half and half in there to be shared by everyone for their $2/cup coffee and the Diet Pepsi row in the fridge was empty all weekend long with no other diet alternatives. I tried to find a vending machine on the floors marked ice/vending but there was only an ice machine. Internet was also $10/day. The location was good with easy access to the freeway and everything in the room was clean at least so it was still a decent stay. We just expected better from our experience with similar hotel chains. I have no problem paying for things when I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth overall, but I kind of feel nickel and dimed with nothing in return.

Love the newly designed rooms, hardwood floors were a great choice! Only downside is the water temp, the only warm shower I got was at 5am.

Went to attend event. Front desk was helpful. Can't say much about the rooms as I was not a guest. But the lobby and restaurant was very elegant.

Very nice staff, from the valet driver to the front desk. Beautiful pool area especially at night! Clean and comfortable room. Only thing parking is expensive. They do have parking in culdesac in back for free (at your own risk) I parked there and no problem. I could see my car perfect from my room.

Location is convenient for La Jolla region. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Service was friendly and helpful.

I like this Marriot property! It is very good for conference venues, but at the same time you can book if your on vacation because of its proximity to Del Mar and La Jolla. I was here last year and here again for my birthday. Hotel is exceptionally clean and staff are very friendly.

This hotel is one of the nicest looking hotel around this area. The price for a night was decent, and I just had an overall good experience, and I'd definitely come back for another stay.

Went there for corporate Christmas party and thoroughly enjoyed my time. The food was great and the ballroom and bathrooms were very upscale and clean. I wasn't able to see any other part of the property, but what I did see was impressive.

The valet of the carts was too slow for service. The rest was fine.

My stay occurred on a very busy weekend and was very enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and in particular Dante's welcome was exceptional and he was very accommodating. I usually stay at other Marriott properties in the area but look forward to my next stay there soon.

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. Beautiful remodel. The rooms are lovely. I would recommend staying here.

It was clean and reasonably comfortable. They only got 3 stars because of an unresolved incident. I twisted my ankle while walking from self parking on the ill-placed wheel chair ramp. I filled out an incident report and they tried to appear as if they cared, however, four employees, including the manager, gathered in front of me, did not offer me a seat, and started firing questions at me. I explained that I am not easily intimidated. They did send someone up with an ice pack for my sprained ankle. The manager told me that the company would be following up with me, however, it has been over two weeks since we were there and I have not heard a word. I expect much more from Marriott!

Love this hotel. Has everything you need. It's also right by the freeway. Makes it super convenient to get around. They also have a sushi bar inside the hotel.

Looks great. The room is clean. They had a lot more amenities than I expected. I like the convenience they built into the rooms. I. E. Night lights on the lamp, plugs everywhere.

Keep up-to-date. Good services and good sushi and bar inside of the hotel. Rooms are nice and clean.

It was great. Except that the bed bothered my back after 2 nights of sleeping on it, but thats not saying a lot because I have a bad back. The food, drinks at the bar was great. The service is amazing. Very happy and I will definitely stay there again next year.

I rarely have a problem with a Marriott hotel. Im a Gold Elite. When I called the property at 6:30 this mornjng the front desk advised that my room was already and I could check in anytime. When I arrived on the property about 12:30 I was told there was someone in the suite but they were to check out by 1:30 then all they had to do was clean it. Its now 3:50 PM and nobody seems to have a clue if the room is clean or not. As I sit here in the lobby the staff seem to be more concerned with a large wedding party checking in. Everybody seems to be betting their rooms. Never had this kind of horrific service at a Marriott before.

Great place for a weekend stay! It is in the middle of a lot of attractions and is a great place for family. However, it is in a shady spot being right next to the highway. At gas stations very close nearby, there have been some reports of suspicious activity and robberies. The hotel is very secluded though, so it won't be a huge problem. The dining service is excellent, and the pool is calm and warm. The lobby has two printers with Macs and can be used directly to print out a boarding pass. It is near Oceanside, CA which offers plenty to see and do. Just a great place to spend a day or two!

We stopped in to the Marriott Del Mar to grab a cocktail before meeting up with family for dinner. The staff was very attentive and friendly and fun. My husband has a very strict diet so they concocted the perfect drink just for him and it was super tasty. If everyone who works at this hotel is as nice and hospitable as those at the bar, I would definitely stay here!

We came in for a quick overnight stay on a Saturday. Rooms were clean and spacious. Located within minutes from the freeway with plenty of parking. Recommended for budget conscious travelers who don't want to spend more money going towards downtown San Diego or resorts near the ocean.

Absolutely love this place! Amazing, helpful, kind staff! Never stayed anywhere before where the people were so eager to assist and remember my name after each visit. Rooms are always clean and other facilities are great!

I only had breakfast at the restaurant. The service was fantastic, as you would expect from Marriott. The food was top notch as well. They always try hard to accommodate requests. We had a business meeting among three of us and just wanted coffee and some fruit. They brought a large plate of fruit and let us work at a large table for more than two hours with no pressure to leave.

Front desk personnel was unwelcoming. She gave us a room that had the view of the huge exhaust. There was only two towels in the bathroom and when I requested an extra one from the housekeeping personnel who happened to be working there at that time, she claimed that she didn't have extra to spare, and promised to bring it later, which she never did. The shower curtains were not hooked to the rod and we had to fix it ourselves. My friend who was in another room had the same experience. Nice hotel but poor customer service.

Pleasantly surprised, very clean, well appointed rooms and a friendly staff made this brief stay very pleasant! We usually explore for restaurants but decided to have dinner at the Hotels Restaurant, Arterra pardon me if I misspelled the name, my Lamb Shank was near perfect! Great portion, and beautifully presented! Did not expect it. I will return when in Del Mar.

Very nice hotel. Well designed, great pool and hot tub. I wish the Elite lounge was open on weekends. At least for coffee!

The hotel was great, especially their front desk associates, they were very helpful with all our needs. Lobby, room, and all other facilities that we came across were very well kept.

While the location is nice and the staff is courteous, the rooms can use a little refurbishing in terms of ventilation. On more than one separate visit, I've had to call maintenance to repair the fan and HVAC. One time the furnace was jammed with ice and on another, the old motor tripped a fuse. The rooms are very stuffy so if you are someone who needs fresh air, look elsewhere. The food is overpriced (as is common in Marriott of this caliber) and Wi-Fi is not free. Don't expect to bring a Chromecast or Roku to watch TV… there are no HDMI ports to connect to. The beds are comfortable and, as I said, the staff is friendly. Save yourself some money and stay at the Residence Inn across the street.

I have been to many hotels but this one is a lot better! I can say is their SERVICE is just AMAZING! The STAFF are very accommodating, friendly, always happy and always offers you any help they can to please the guest! The housekeeping team. Are great, the Concierge are great everything is just great!

Easy access to 5 and 56 freeways, quick drive to beaches, nice pool area, good service — family loves staying here.

I went to the Alterra restaurant & bar to celebrate a work colleague recently. It's been a few years since I had been there last and the makeover was done well. The lighting, colors, and materials were pleasing. We sat outside near the pool area and the wait staff were very attentive and always there to make sure we had everything we needed. The appetizers that we ordered (empanadas, garlic fries, wings, etc. ) were a light touch to our drinks, which was the entire reason for filling to be frank. The food was good… Not over-the-top, rocking-my-socks-off good, but enjoyable all the same. We were there for happy hour and it wasn't too busy so that made things easy as well. Overall, a great, somewhat-out-of-the-way place for a drink or two and some good grub.

Very clean and and the staff is very polite. Food in the lounge was very good. The only complaint I can think of is parking for checking in, but the valet let us Park in front while we checked in.

The interior of the hotel was well decorated and classy. The service was great, both quick and polite. The conference room was nice. The food in the conference center was above average for hotel food.

San Diego Marriott Del Mar has the best service in town! Their staff is phenomenal! Its a very nice hotel close to everything. Could not have ask for a better experience!

I go for monthly company events held there. I mainly have experience from their food, which is not the best. They served a tremendous amount of salad to my entire company which tasted like it was covered in pesticides or rotten. Upon multiple occasions food tasted old or stale.

Carefull… Parking is not included. They don't tell you but it's $20 per day. They also can't keep the halls clean. Old room service and trash everywhere.

Most of the reviews I have read cannot possibly be from customers. They still charge for Wi-Fi. The pictures make it look newer and much nicer than reality. There is a beautiful view of I-5, if busy Interstates are your thing. Everything is an added charge, including $20 for parking. I would not have stayed here, after seeing how different it was from the pictures on the Marriott web site, but they would not allow me to cancel my reservation. It would be comfortable for a short business stay, but at the price advertised, I would choose somewhere else.

All the staff was above average! Rooms were comfy and clean as well.

My friend has an amazing holiday party the first weekend of every December. That means I get to come stay here and have fun :) I've stayed at this Marriott probably 10 times — between overnights for work when I'd do all night deployments and the party. I find the location super convenient to anything in the Del Mar / La Jolla area and it's such a pretty Marriott. In the early DivX days we used to have a lot of work functions at this Marriott too and they always took care of us. I loved planning functions here since they made it so simple. We had a Halloween party and a Holiday party that I can remember and I think a few other meetings and parties before the company grew too big.

My first time to San Diego and I stayed the week at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. My favourite thing about the hotel were how lovely all the staff were, they all gave exceptional service and were very helpful. One of the staff members Mike had a great positive outlook on life and it was nice to be greeted with this each day! Shuttle bus service was helpful to spend time down at Del Mar beach or to try places to eat near by. Loved that there was Jimbo's naturally not far from the hotel. Would recommend staying.

Awesome! Great pricing, even during spring break. Free breakfast, free parking, and free Wifi. The staff are all great and very accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. Not just the lobby, rooms as well. We will be coming back to this hotel and recommend it to others.

We stayed in a beautiful and clean room. Some nice furniture inside the room and a very comfortable bed make for a great stay. The outdoor pool and hot-tub area looks very new with cabanas, a fire pit and fabric covered recliners. Great location for Torrey Pine State Reserve and beach, Del Mar and La Jolla visits. Seems like a perfect choice for a family gathering considering the amenities.
