The rooms are very small compared to most Homewood. When I checked in the room smelled so strong of air freshener I had to open the window and leave for a few hours. Staff harassed me about my dog, saying they were going to send someone to inspect the room every day and they didn't want to see him. I was assured it would not be an issue when I checked in, and then they came back and said they never said that. While on a business trip they locked me out of my room till I paid more, I was 10days into a 30+ day stay. The card readers on the out side of the building were very hard to get to work. I mentioned it to the staff and they said there was no way to fix it. This is a trashy place and they way over charge.

First time, one of my favorites. ♡ Staff is nice, they have a pool & hot tub great to relax in & breakfast every AM. Our room we had was 2 split bedrooms, bathrooms attached, a living room in the middle & a small full kitchen that was located next to the door. Tv in every room. Great comfy room after a busy day of exploring. We got our room on the ground floor which was nice to go for a walk when ever we wanted. Definitely recommend this place!

Our room was nice and spacious, but the sofa bed was not the most comfortable. The breakfast was actually pretty good by hotel standards. Waffles, eggs, sausages, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. The staff was top notch, though. Made us feel at home.

We just got here Saturday afternoon and we already love it. Marcella is an amazing and gorgeous girl. She and my wife hit it off immediately over the phone. When we finally met her, it was like they were long time friends. Marcella went the extra mile to accommodate us. We usually stay at Hilton Mission Valley, but we now have a new travel home at Homewood suites Del Mar. Our reason for coming to Homewood Suites today is to celebrate our anniversary. Our new friend welcomed us in a special way. That is what everyone should be like. I think we will return here without a doubt. Beautiful rooms and friendly staff, even free breakfast offered. No hassle lodging. The best prices anywhere.

What a hidden gem! Here for a conference, and wow this place is super. Lobby is lovely. The king suite (they have many different types) is comfortable, large and very very decent. Clean and well equipped. I'm happy with the great service at the front desk… they let us check in early (thanks so much) and I am delighted to hear about the free evening meal. As soon as I finish taking a nap (the bed is great, and so is the fluffy extra blanket) I will go and check out San Diego. Apparently, they've only had 2 days of rain all winter (it's May) and so everyone local is happy that it's raining today. As a visitor, I am not so happy, but hey… the sun will come out eventually! There are loads of food places nearby… perhaps I will eat first, nap later.

If you have At and T as your phone carrier and you work with high security system do not stay here you can’t get service at all. I have to uber around and get internet so I can process some work stuff : (beach is calling me today who wants to spent extra hour when I can go to the beach instead. Room and service are excellent it’s just this internet! I travel a lot but never had problem like this. If I can’t work from my hotel I can’t stay. No airport shuttle.

2 bedroom 2 bath suite, great for 2 families each with a 1.5 year old. Great front desk service and housekeeping did a great job. So very thorough with the cleanup and reorganizing the areas. Love the breakfast provided in the mornings. Great business area for printing and whatever else you may need. Improvement needed, new drapes. The blackout drapes were like Swiss cheese and sunlight would shine through the holes in the morning. Our guess was that they were old and wearing out?

Good place, good rooms.

Rooms are really small but clean. What kills the whole over night experience is the HVAC system that's in every room humming, rattling throughout the day & night. If it isn't your own it's your neighbors aside & above. Sleepless days and nights.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the Breakfast and the evening meal. Convenient location for UCSD tour and San Diego attractions.

Very convenient to have a hot breakfast AND dinner available. Dinner was Monday through Thursday. Room was clean. Service was good. Bed was firm and pillows were soft. Room had a fridge and two burner stove. Very friendly staff. I'll be back when in town on business.

Good food provided by the hotel for our lunch and snacks. The meeting space was overall good. The chairs could have been a little more comfortable but it wouldn't stop me from coming back here for another conference.

This hotel is really close to the highway. If you’re working in the San Diego area it is absolutely perfect and at a great price pint. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. The only negative is that the hotel is In a severe need of a facelift. Severe. Need. It’s the oldest looking and decrepit Homewood suites I’ve ever stayed at.

It is a hotel that has all The comforts of home but is in a place that you can not walk easily away from restaurants but if you have a car, it is a good place.

Well equipped rooms and very nice service. The breakfast is OK but could be better. Very convenient for a business trip and I would certainly consider it for a family trip too.

This hotel is great. Complimentary breakfast and dinner is a huge plus for business trips. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly and approachable. The reason this hotel gets 5 stars and not just 4 is that I left an article of clothing in my room after I checked out, and when I called the employee who handled my call was helpful and responsive and shipped it back to me for free! Great place!

My trip is not over yet. I am on a business trip. I am very satisfied with this hotel, its staff and service. Complimentary breakfast and dinner really made my life easy, considering I am totally foreign to this place.

Great place, excellent breakfast. There were very few power outlets which made it hard for charging phone and laptop at the same time. But would recommend this place.

Super nice neighborhood for the hotel — lots of. Trees, close the water and quiet area. Wonderful food for free breakfast and dinner some nights! Happy hour! Clean rooms and great staff!

A nice place to rest, the breakfasts could vary a bit in week to not be so repetitive for long stays.

This hotel was great! We would stay there again for sure. We went with our 9 year old daughter. Breakfast was really good (hot and cold options available) ; buffet dinner with beer and wine is served free of charge Monday to Thursday. The staff were absolutely AMAZING. So helpful and friendly. Could not ask for better service! The only possible downside was that the bathroom could use some upgrades. This actually didn't bother us but might put some people off. Otherwise pool was nice and quiet; room cleaning was excellent. Close to everything. Thanks homewood suites del mar!

Nice little property. Very friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast. Pool and back area have plenty of tables and chairs so I was able to smoke my cigar and sip on my scotch out in the shade. Rooms are quiet and clean. We got a large room with a small kitchen area. About 15min away from major theme parks. Would stay here again.

The hotel staff were the best ever… and the was very nice and very clean … breakfast was pretty good just wish I could have been there for the dinner that they offer… I will definitely stay here again.

Great breakfast. Appropriate respectful, polite staff who attended to service when requested. However, maintenance and attention to detail for amenities is concerning. I'm a businessman over twenty-plus years and a Gold member. This location had a pool that was dirty, filled with multiple gnats, hairs and appearance of an unhealthy condition. As important, the lumpy uncomfortable king-size was bested by a high quality air mattress. These concerns, including quality gym, as compared to recent stay at Four Point Sheraton nearby, are suggestive of low attention to detail. Cost was less with in miles of the same location. This is my first disappointing stay at Homewood Suites. Long-time customer x 20 years. I'm sure these issues could be addressed very quickly. I hope this comment will rest upon Homewood management and rise to their out-standing past reputation.

We've been coming to this hotel for years and it is nothing but awesome every time. Breakfast is included, and our host David always goes out of his way to be sure our needs are met. A few years ago our daughter was on a specific diet and we brought most of her food from home but forgot her pancakes. David made sure they got the correct ingredients and the kitchen staff made her a week's worth of pancakes so she'd have them every morning. We come every year and will likely be back again!

The ft desk was extremely helpful. The rooms seemed to be updated and clean. Love that they don't charge for parking. They also have a nice selection for breakfast.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable to walk around in. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was also in a location the made the beach very accessible.

I asked for complementary toothpaste at the front desk and they didn't have it at the time. The lady told me she was going to send it to my room. After 35 mins I went to the front desk and ask the front desk lady (different one) for a toothpaste, she told me to get it from the other room. Basically told me to buy it before even checking if there was one in there. After her checking under her desk, she found one and gave me one. The fact that she didn't check first and told me to pay for one I give two stars other than that the room and service was fine.

Super friendly staff and clean room. Beds and pillows are always comfy. Stayed here multiple times and it's always a great experience.

Beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Great breakfast and pool. Affordable. Not close enough to shopping/grocery stores but in a beautiful quiet and area.

We checked in to Homewood Suites in San Diego (Vista Sorrento location) yesterday and bought some groceries so we could bring lunch for our family when we hit the San Diego Zoo the next day. Unfortunately we were in a rush and did not notice that the fridge had not turned on until the next morning, so most things had spoiled. I let the front desk lady know this evening and she said she would let the manager know right away. She was so professional and sympathetic to our incident. Not even 15 minutes had passed and the manager, Mr. Parris P. Left me a message to let him know what had spoiled and to provide a receipt to show the hotel. Very professional and understanding as well. After I had dropped off the receipt, within 30 min I received another message that the replacement groceries were available for me to pick up (they had tried to deliver to our room personally but we had a do not disturb sign up). This was such an amazing gesture and customer service from the hotel. Not once did they question my sincerity on this incident. My family are so grateful to Homewood Suites for the amazing customer service. I have never seen this level of service before ever! Hats off to Mr. P. And his amazing front desk staff. We will be back again when we make our way back to San Diego again! That is for sure! Room was comfortable, outdoor pool is great (wasn't too busy), great hot breakfast and complimentary evening meal (also never seen this provided at a hotel ever).

The Hotel was nice as was the suite. The breakfast they had was complimentary and included eggs, sausage, corned beef hash, waffles, fruit, bagels, and assorted juices. It's not located in a very busy area for nightlife, but old town San Diego is only 15 min. Away.

I am a week or so into a 3 month stay and the hotel staff has been very accommodating and helpful so far. Highly recommended. (Don't eat at bistro 39 next door in the Hilton Garden Inn. It was very overpriced for very underwhelming food. There are much better places to go and the shuttle from the Homewood suites can take you)

Location was good, not so close to the action it was crowded and busy but close enough. Room was excelent, large and clean. I've always enjoyed Homewood Suites and would be happy to stay at this one again.

Overall it has been OK, but only giving 2 stars due to very poor Wi-Fi signal and the entire hotel being a cellular dead zone (minus a few spots in the lobby which has zero outlets for you to use). If you want to use your phone for extended calls or data, you must step outside… literally, 1 foot past the building and you have signal… 1 step inside it's gone. If the Wi-Fi wasn't so spotty this wouldn't be a big deal…

It's been great staying here. The rooms are awesome. It's made a month long stay very nice. The food is alright but great to be able to grab after a long day. Only problem is the Wi-Fi is super spotty.
