Haven’t check in yet. But hotel with no microwave and frig! What the hell man. Hilton’s brand has left the building.

Beware! Worst experience ever stayed here from July 9-12 staff not very friendly and apparently you get famous cookies nope 👎. Went to the pool to hang out stopped at the bar for drinks was going to order food he said someone will come and take our order never happened. Went to our room changed went to restaurant waited to be seated staff looked at us but never came a lady eventually brought us a menu never offered us a seat so we left. Next day get stuck in the elevator for 5 minutes tell the manager that was standing in lobby said we are aware no apologies kinda oh well. That evening cold showers! 1245am loud party beer the pool call front desk lady more concern with my room number then taking care of noice! Morning wake up still no hot water! Call front desk they are aware no apologies or r room discount. Should of stayed at a no tell motel.

Unfortunately, from the moment we stepped into our first room, we have had issues with the hotel. Our first room had not been cleaned-the bathroom was very dirty, there was trash in every trash can, and the bed was still unmade and slept in. They did move us into a new room. Next, we had no blankets or pillows for the bed so we went down to the front desk and they said they didn’t have any nearby so we had to wait in our room for about 30 minutes for that. Another misfortune was the elevator not working properly. An engineer had to come and fix that. The main reason that has us checking out early, is we have not been able to bathe since we have been here. There has been zero hot water. Each time we call or go down, the front desk says there are engineers here to fix it, but after 48 hours of no progress, we cannot stay here any longer. Each time we went to the front desk, someone was there to voice a concern or complaint about their stay. So, unfortunately, it was not just our stay that was less than impressive. The positives for the place: the pool is pretty & the front desk said they would comp us for our days here that were subpar. The front desk staff was understanding and kind, as I am sure they were having to field a lot of concerns.

Staff is borderline arrogant and inflexible and unwelcoming. Agree with several postings about staffs poor attitude and unfriendly. The hotel needs to TRAIN their team in common courtesy, kindness, and customer service — appalling lack of service-minded manor.

The hotel was very nice n the room was cozy. So Quite too.

Very relaxed atmosphere, quiet, great block out drapes, great service going above & beyond. Pool is open! Loved the salt water pool & Spa!

Great experience holding an event at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego — Del Mar. The Sales & Catering team and especially Ms. Elena Hall were awesome and our ceremony and luncheon for over 65 people went off without a hitch. In planning the event we considered several locations and ultimately, we picked this hotel because of the location, it a lovely space and the ease of working with Elena. She was responsive and made great suggestions where necessary. The staff on hand on the date of the event were very competent. Dominic, Freddie, and the servers were wonderful and Elena was there to make sure everything went according to plan. Overall, the service rendered exceeded expectations and I could not have asked for a better outcome.

Great experience from start to finish. We decided to do a weekend trip I called the Del Mar Hilton The manager Jordan answered. I told him I was Going to book online he was able to transfer advise me of transfer the process was seamless super dog friendly place would recommend this to all my friends and family.

Bar staff was rude and no smiles.

Extremely friendly staff. Very accommodating. The restaurant waitress was very busy but no decline in service or attention. She was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean rooms, polite staff, beautiful city.

We love staying here, the service is amazing. We always have a great time and the renovation came out fantastic. Our last stay the staff went above and beyond to help us. We hit traffic coming back from a event and were not sure if we could get a room with out a reservation. The person at the desk was able to find room and gave us directions to the local shops, to get items we needed to stay the night. The amazing staff and location of the hotel are why we come back and why we book Hilton.

It's a nice hotel, with nice clean beautiful rooms. Nice friendly staff that greet you upon entering. I love it here!

The staff there were amazing, welcoming and super helpful no matter what we needed. The shuttle drivers were awesome for recommendations on things to see around San Diego. The rooms were clean and beautiful and the hot tub/pool area was great. 100% would come again.

Needed a fridge for medical supplies and they brought one up quickly.

The Hilton was dog friendly. My wife and I stayed the night here. We enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious. We had a king bed. Not much if a view but close by several beaches. We will stay here again they next time we visit. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us!

The hotel staff was friendly. We love the cookies they offered us for free! The room was nice but I didn't care for the sliding door for the restroom. We went to the pool and there were no towels but we didn't have to wait long to get new towels and get into the cool pool. The hot tub was nice and refreshing.

Everything to like and nothing not to like for a clean, comfortable, efficient travel destination in a great location near the beach and lots of things to do. This is the way hotels should be! Quiet unobtrusive a/c, large comfortable rooms, free coffee (breakfast is not included in the Doubletree tradition a great restaurant is on premises). And beautiful pool area too. Lots of dining options walkable without the need to cross busy streets. Recommend — just the kind of place I like.

Catered food was pretty good and revamped terrace area is nice. Still would prefer a bit more shade. Employees were very helpful and kind.

Hotel is flawless. Outstanding hotel staff. Front desk will never disappoint you, extremely nice and friendly. Beautiful and clean indoor and out. Bed is so comfortable. Best part, the chocolate chip cookies, the best cookies ive ever had, warm and chocolatey, yum.

The pillows smelt like arm pit. The bathroom was only partially clean. The staff insisted they did not have ada accommodations for handicap son. And breakfast was good but server axle was in kitchen more than on floor was thirsty entire breakfast. Second star only for generosity of delicious cookies.

Great location. Nice comfortable beds. Rooms don't have refrigerator or microwave, but I think they can arrange for that. Room size is pretty big. Nice closet space. No laundry on site, just dry cleaning. Staff is pretty courteous and friendly. Close to beaches. Not sure why they charge for parking, it should be free but it's 15 bucks a day.

Awesome location. Very clean. Most of the staff was pleasant. The hotel bar and restaurant were very good.

Stayed one night at the DoubleTree in late April. Pool was warm enough to swim, and they have a 1ft wading pool which is perfect for children. Location is good and easy to find. Wasn't impressed with the drink special at the bar, but the back patio is perfect in the evening. Rooms are what you expect from this kind of hotel.

The room was beautiful. The staff was super nice and helpful. The shuttle driver was the best by far and they give you a delicious cookie at check-in!

The good: Tara and the other staff at the hotel restaurant were absolutely wonderful. Tara in particular was kind, attentive, and quick with everything we asked for. Fernando in the morning was speedy and sweet. The black out curtains were next level, and the room was overall quite nice. The housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient. The bad: The shower was its own special frustration. If you wanted warm water, you had to turn the handle all the way to the hottest it would go, and the result was barely above tepid. Until someone flushed their toilet, or otherwise used the water in their rooms. Then it was scalding. The only options appeared to be to take cold showers the whole trip, or tepid showers that were interspersed with periods where the water was unbearably hot. Three of the towels that we had the first night had makeup on them. We had these replaced, and one of the replacements had latex paint on it. The top two drawers of the dresser wouldn't stay closed, which wouldn't have been a problem, except for the minor inconvenience of the fact that it was in the walking path to the loo. I did not receive a single smile from anyone at the front desk until the morning I left. I work in the service industry — I get it. Service industry positions are terrible for the soul. But a fake smile wouldn't have gone amiss. Most of the occasions that I interacted with the desk staff I felt that I was at best interrupting them, and at worst irritating them.

Nice and updated. Friendly staff. Didn't care for the pillows and I had trouble getting the room cool enough to sleep.

It is a wonderful place everything that you could do I want to need is pretty much there except I did not find an icebox in the room that I was in and parking I had to pay for parking which I don’t mind but I didn’t really understand that I had to do that until I actually got the bill so in order to get the other stores maybe put an icebox in the room and let me know when you’re up front that parking is going to be an extra $15 maybe if they put the parking in the advertisement price then I would feel more comfortable with adding more STARS … I found the employees quite hospitable quite hospitable and enjoyed a non-interruptive comfortable sleep and great private time operating my business.

This property is very nice. The pool area is nice and big fitness center was small as most are but nice. Room was good minus not having a fridge. However service was sub par. We used or digital key so we could avoid the front desk and go straight to the room. This is what we do everytime digital key is offered. This time when I went down to get my honors club waters and cookies. I was told waters were only giving at check in. After explaining I used a digital key I was told ok this time we will give you waters. He then went to the back and only gave me one of the two I should have received. I just took it and went back to my room as I didn't feel like arguing with him because they didn't seem like he was in a good mood or happy to be at work.

All right, good deal as always what characterizes the Hiltons hotels.

Newly remodeled from last time I was here (1 year ago). They charge for parking now ($15/night) and everything is new. The dining area has been remodeled too and they offer room service now. Rooms are the same though.

Nothing fancy but adequate. Nice pool area with outdoor seating. Standard rooms are really small. Comfy beds but feather pillows that squash flat. Friendly staff and good parking.

Good hotel good pool and good margaritas yeaaaa baby.

I just returned from an event/social at the Double Tree in Carmel Valley. First off, they had appetizers and a cash bar at 7 pm — outside on a patio, rather than indoors. The weather was in the 40's at this time and what heat lamps were out, appeared more for decoration than warmth and functionality. If the event was reserved indoors, I am not sure why they would "start" it outdoors in January. Seems odd for a semi-formal event. The next thing which was apparent: the area had just been "naturally" fertilized — every pot, plant and garden area. As one can imagine, it added quite an ambiance to the environment. I was there less than 30 minutes, overwhelmed by the smell; I'm not sure who planned this, but I will not return there.

This is an upscale hotel in San Diego. It has spacious rooms and a great restaurant. It offers a large pool, a shallow kids pool, a hot tub, a fitness room, and more. The staff is excellent and very gracious. Fantastic place!

We had to stay here due to evacuation from the fires. The staff was very understanding and helped us out. The room was very nice, breakfast was good and they excepted our dogs.

Great hidden gem. Rooms are very nice, staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is very clean. Location is near businesses but the beach is.

Great location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet close to Torrey Pines, Delmar and La Jolla. Great, friendly staff. Kid friendly amenities, they even bring a mini refrigerator for families with kids.

Love this place! First it under renovation so you come into a side entrance with a temporary lobby. The rooms nice good storage closet iron and ironing board. Has a pool hot tub and small splash pool for kids. Would recommend!

The Hilton hotels are great. This one location has been remodeled. No complaints about service or staff. Very welcoming and helpful. I'm giving 4 stars because they need to check on a very nasty smell on the 5th floor. Inside a room 555.

WATCH FOR BUGS! We have stayed there one night. Came out covered in bug bites. Hotel management told us to discard luggage and dry clean all inside AT OUR OWN EXPENSES. No room cleaning or inspection was done. They refused to take care of the expenses of our bug infestation from using their room. Hilton Honors policy is to leave all bugs and burglary complaints up to hotel management. They won't help. SD press is being interested and engaged on passing along the info to protect future guests though.

REMODELING SEPT 2017, I wouldn't advise staying here during remodeling. It's like walking through a construction site. Found our room door closing very fast, too fast in fact, and struck my wife. The room is setup so the bed faces the couch and the TV is set on the right side… weird viewing angle. Thank God the bed was quite comfortable. Their restaurant and bar are also under construction so you will be walking up to a portable bar… I expected some really great discounts on their drinks to offset but nope. I look forward to the finished version of the hotel but for now I would look elsewhere.

It turned out to be a good enough stay thanks to Jordan, (he gets a five! ). I made a Honor's card reservation month's ago, (April), and I ended up making a new reservation for an additional room on the day of arrival for $50 p/n less than the one I made. At first the front desk was not going to lower my rate but Jordan did after some discussion. Additionally, at no time did the front desk or reservation department tell me the hotel was under construction. There was a makeshift lobby, no bar or restaurant, (some tent set up by the pool for breakfast. My pool view included a view of construction materials, great? The room itself was nice enough except for small-low toilet and a slider wood door that would slide all the way. They really should have told me about the hotel condition and then it would have been my choice whether I stay there. Mike Patterson.

No where did it mentions the renovation that they are under going… They should be running a special and explaining that the hotel is under construction. We were not happy with our stay and very frustrated with the amount we spent to stay in a place that was not up to par with how it presented itself online. Not only that but staff did not keep up with the cookies and coffee. Double tree has cookie marketing everywhere and they were out when we showed up. In the morning, the coffee was out. I feel like they should be overly conscious of making sure those little things are taken care of when they are inconveniencing their guests.

Attentive service but was under construction during my visit. Not many common spaces available during my stay. Rooms were clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable.

There is a huge construction going on under the name of mild renovation and it is impossible to spend the day at the hotel premises due to the extreme sounds. At night it's still impossible to sleep because the A/C's in the rooms are very old and create a lot of noise. The hotel also has the rudest personnel I've ever seen. When we told that we don't want to stay in these conditions, the staff didn't care at all. They didn't allow us to upgrade to a higher level room even if we paid, and they said they will be holding on to the price of 4 nights and there won't be any refunds if we don't stay. The worst part was because of the construction, there are insects everywhere. And the hotel doesn't take any precautions about this. Not enough cleaning, not enough pesticides etc. My mom was bit by a venomous spider in her sleep. Now we're dealing with a severe medical condition. This was the worst hotel I've ever been in.

My husband and I have never been to this hotel however at 2:39 am this morning we were emailed a receipt thanking us for a stay that never happened.
The kicker! Our name/address was accurate on the receipt, along with a Hilton Honors number that was set up (not by us) and used to give credit for last night's stay.
So in a nut shell someone checked into this hotel using our name (s), honors number (that we never registered for) and accurate home address… Creepy!
Did they …even check the id of the person who checked in, if so they would have caught this immediately!
However the only explanation to be given by General Mgr JD or desk manager Sam was to get in touch with Hilton Honors as they set up profiles… As if information could not be added/changed at the front desk. Which it can be.
Still does not explain an email receipt being sent to us via an email address that has never been provided to Hilton or any of it's affiliates EVER! Very poor business practice Hilton, extremely poor response to such a situation also.

Many thanks to amazing staff for KAABOO. From our front desk check in girl who was working so very hard. I can not remember her name but she remembered mine every morning! (She had long dark hair). Her personal skills of making one feel welcome were above and beyond. To Christy the greatest bar tender ever. She actually came to check on me while I was alone outside on the patio. This random act of kindness was amazing. I offered to help her clear plates and dishes because I was chilling and she was busy. It was the least I could offer. She declined. Your late night maintenance gal also on early morning killed some kind of browned backed spider near me. It was the staff that will keep me coming back!

Best pool, friendly staff, would love more signs like buffet cost an arm and a leg you might not want to eat breakfast here.

I have good opinion of the Hilton are excellent hotels but this night not to been a very good. The air conditioning had it as two because of my ear and each q lit I woke up with the noise. I had q ask new sheets and quilt as at 11 pm porq my Gino and I could not sleep for the itching, the bathroom floor is dusty under the lava hands and not to mention the bathroom door q is sliding and has no handle and is a triumph to go and close…

At first was disappointed at the fact that our room wasn't ready 1 1/2 hours after check-in but they accommodated us to an upgrade after we expressed the need. Room was very clean, well laid out with couch, tables, desk. Geremy in the restaurant was a great waiter with attentive and kind service. The Office Manager checking us out was also very nice and helpful, overall would stay here again. Convenient location to the 5, grocery store, gas, Torrey Pines, only complaint is the $12 parking charge didn't seem necessary since it wasn't in an area like Mission Valley or Gaslamp.

A very classy bar area. I was meeting friends there, so was hoping for a good place to talk without too much ambient noise. This was perfect. The music was subtle and our table was far enough from others that we didn't have discussions from other tables distracting us. I ordered the chicken nachos and they were unique and yummy. They were made with thick cut potato chips, topped by multiple cheeses, sour cream and guacamole.

We came to Doubletree to visit a friend staying for a business trip. The room was very accommodating with a fold out sofa bed. We only stayed one night I would come back.

Great location attentive staff kid friendly excellent breakfast buffet beautiful pool and grounds top notch cleanliness and quiet.

Nice property. Walls are a bit thin, though. Got woken up by neighbors opening and closing their doors. Parking is very expensive at $12 per night.

This hotel was wonderful, however I didn't care much for the dogs. Should have read into their pet rules more. Would stay there again!

Room was great, hilton honors perk of free continental breakfast was amazing. Everything was on point. Loved the lobby and the front was helpful.

The location of this hotel is right near some major freeways, yet the rooms are quiet. The rooms are nicely furnished and spacious. They offer adjoining rooms. The pool area is definitely the highlight. Lots of chairs, a kids pool, and a hot tub. There are also outdoor fireplaces where they will bring food out to you. The fitness center is small but has very nice cardio machines and a few weights. Overall, its a nice hotel in a convenient location. It is very nice in summer when you can sit by the pool.

The customer service was great, beautiful rooms, and warm cookies! The only thing I didn't like was a $12 parking fee for an open lot that should've been included.
