This place deserves no stars at all. Worse customer service. Poor management. Doesnt stick to there contract. Wanted to over charge me for my children (age 8 and 5) who were coming to visit me mean while I was visiting in town. Had to get the authorities involved to get my deposit back. Worst place I've ever been at.

This is an great place to stay. Room was clean and well maintained. We had an updated room (i think they all are). Very spacious and I really enjoyed the flooring instead of carpet. The bed was super soft! Fell asleep in minutes. Was able to see the 4th of july fireworks for the room which was a plus. Breakfast was nice with pastries toast, coffee, juice, or waffles. They did have cereal. Left side of the toaster didnt stay down. Shower was clean, like new. Staff were nice when I came in, boyfriend and I took two separate cars so they were super accommodating with getting my car put on the reservation. Be prepared to give them the license plate. Overall this was a great find at a great price. All the other comments made no sense. Also the 7-11 was great to be next too.

Hotel is nice, clean rooms, the bed was ok. I was a little disapointed with the breakfast.

I had planned a 4 day getaway with my pregnant wife in San Diego. I found this affordable hotel online through my Wyndham account. I read some of the reviews. They were good or really bad. I'm pretty easy to please so I decided to go with them. After booking the hotel 2 weeks in advance, we were finally ready for our short getaway. When we landed in San Diego I received an email from Super8 informing my credit card was declined and I had 48 hours to reactivate my reservation by calling the number provided. I was confused as to why they were running my credit card the day of my arrival but before I physically showed up. I had lost my wallet last weekend and had no order new credit cards. But this shouldn't of been an issue since I was checking in today and would provide the new card for deposit and room cost. I immediately called the number provided and asked the employee to reactivate my reservation per the emails instructions. He responded he couldn't reactivate it and I had to rebook for $60 above my initial reservation. I informed him 5he email sent to me said I had 48 hours to reactivate it or I would have to rebook. It had only been a few hours since I received the email. Without compassion or a since of good customer service he repeated verbatim what he had said before. I asked him why would I receive and email saying I had 48 hours if it wasn't true. He said he didnt know and the last the emails were automatically generated.

Near to sea world and USS Midway museum. Room is neat and cleaned. But disturbed with noices from outside.

They want a 100.00 caah deposit. The rooms are remodeled but essentially a wig on a pig. No lotions only hand soap and shampoo. You can hear eveything in the room next to you. The location is good as it is right by a freeway and plaza Bonita mall.

For a momo in a sketchy area… very clean. The staff was really nice too.

Ok I made a mistake I was charged $140 for the room. But the man called me to see why I left the comment. Well if you would give the customer a receipt when checking in then I wouldnt of questioned the fees on my credit card. I called to find out what I was charged & why but no one answered. It was a credit card fee charge of $39. Nothing to do with what I paid. But seriously I didnt even get my bed made & had to ask for towels the next day around 3:45 pm. What hotels clean rooms at 3:45 in the afternoon. I just didnt need a rude phone call from the desk person while im working. Other than that it was good.

Very clean 7-eleven is right next door and cereal breakfast in the morning six to nine a. M. Priced reasonable.

This place is a rip off staff is rude and very unprofessional the manager is not a man of his word after he clearly said we would get a refund when we where given the wrong directions I’m trying to find a way to put the pictures on here so everyone can avoid staying here! Check your cards people sneaky stuff going on here.

Clean rooms. Size of the rooms are decent and the rooms have been renovated recently, so everything inside looks new and fresh. Great value for a nights stay. Parking lot is not big and breakfast is very basic average.

Clean, comfortable, appears to be freshly renovated. Colors a little bright. Large room. Comfortable bed. Efficient check in. Would be 5 star except for road noise.

This place is garbage. Booked online a week ago, called ahead to ask about the early check in they have available, the guy said that wasn't a thing. Then get there with my wife and he doesn't want to accept our military ID, then says we have to have a 100 dollar cash deposit… suspect AF…

Rude staff! Cash only, no credit cards. The front office staff went out of their way to upset me. In a manner where he was getting enjoyment from it.

Friendly reception guy. Nice room. On-site free parking. Free Wi-Fi. Really can't complain. free breakfast was nice. we arrived late at night and was able to get a room here for a great price. Spacious room. Has all the basic facilities, just what you'd expect from a decent motel. i would stay here again.

We have 4 kids. This was the first time a hotel has ever charged us extra for having 4 kids. They charge $22/kid per night. The website didn't say anything about charges for extra kids. Even after informing us of the extra kids, they didn't offer a cot, extra blankets, extra pillows or any other amenities to justify the excessive upcharge. Pretty annoying and definitely not an affordable hotel. Room is ok. Definitely an older hotel that's been redone.

When we pulled up, I kinda wanted to go find another hotel. It didn't look very nice from the outside. I'm glad we decided too give it a chance. The rooms are really nice.

This place is a good bargain. The rooms are big and clean, the staff was very quick to help us. Overall, I would stay here again.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED! All we tried to do was take two nights off of our 4 night stay, we had a 2 queen bedroom. We were told, that they had no availability and that we would have to cancel and then switch to a king room. MAKES NO SENSE! We already had the rooms reserved so why couldnt we just take 2 nights off of it? plus if we canceled that would mean a queen bedroom WOULD BE AVAILABLE! had expedia talk to the owner, and he didn't want to do anything about it. I would avoid this place and expedia all together. Worst customer service I have ever had. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

Great bed, nice decor, Wi-Fi was extremely spotty however, and for some reason management won't allow guests to come up to your room for any reason whatsoever.

Very accessible to freeways. The hotel was clean and receptionist was nice and polite. They also have continental breakfast. Well worth money we paid.

Very impressive and affordable rooms. I highly recommend booking a room here if you are staying in the San Diego area for a few days. Even the shower was instantly hot and ready for a quick morning start.

Really good service, clean room, good food, didnt smell like cigarettes, the only thing was the girl in the front room pretty loud but nothing the hotel can do. Besides that all good.

Horrible customer service, I made a reservation over the phone and received a confirmation number but when I tried to check in I was told my reservation had been cancelled and the room sold. Turns out they took my card's expiration number wrong and instead of calling to verify, the front desk decided to sell my room at a higher rate to a walk in. Do not expect a warm welcome or friendly face here but hey, what can you expect when they're located exactly next to a cemetery… go figure.

It was clean and quiet. No extra business, noise, etc. Internet access was convenient. I would like the access to printer, even limited (one page) but there was no that thing. Morning tea was available and good.

The room we stayed in had a door that did not close right. It was off its hinges and you could see through a gap about an inch wide toward the bottom where the door was supposed to be touching the door frame. There was only one lock on the door, where I usually would have expected two, especially because of the door not hanging right. The room phone didn't call out. We really didn't feel safe. Needless to say, we won't be returning in the future.

It's now a Super 8. Decently priced and the rooms look newly remodeled.

This place is very dirty and has roaches. The only good thing I can really say is that the location is convenient. There are much nicer, better options in the area in this price range.

This place is a dump, plain and simple. There is mold on the bathroom ceiling, a musty smell permeates the entire indoor area. The AC barely works, the carpet is filthy and the furnishings need repair. I will make sure my company never uses the dump again.

This is the worst hotel ever. You can easily stay at a much better hotel for the same price, motel 6 is around the same price & it's not disgusting at all. Sweetwater in treated us like crap, there were ants in the ice. There were bed bugs, & the hotel smells like weed. It's unprofessional & gross. It better be closed down soon. Close down this hotel.

I'm not sure I can even name one thing I liked about my stay here. Actually the weather, yes the weather was amazing here. The room is horrible though. Horrible. First of all the room we had reserved was a double which was not the case when we arrived. Maybe double the wear and tear that seemed to be apparent throughout the entire building from the holes in the walls to the broken sockets and ancient Panasonic TV that was stuck in black and white. Everything would have been bearable though if we could actually connect to the advertised "free Wi-Fi" and escape the literal nightmare that was our room, but alas due to our location on the towering second floor it was pretty much pointless to even try to get it to work. The smell that penetrates your orifices (I say orifices instead of nose because not even your sense of taste will be spared) when you first open the doors to the lobby will surely be a sign of way more to come. Oh yeah and dont even bother trying to use the water fountain to try to get rid of the taste, because like everything else its broken and probably has been for a really long time. Fi.

They canceled our reservation without notifying us. The hotel was disgusting and dirty. We stepped out of the lobby for a few minutes to ask Orbitz to transfer us to a different hotel, and when we came back to check in, the concierge guy had CANCELED our reservation. He did not put the manager on the phone and simply threaten us to call the police. What kind of hotel calls the cops on a married couple simply because we were asking nicely for a refund. We, in fact, called the cops and they said "this is the worst hotel in National City, prostitutes come in, drugs, loud music from a club next door (to the hotel) we get a call from people because there have been shootings in the area" Orbitz, didn't give me a solution, the hotel didn't give me a refund; and we had to find another hotel on our own. Stay away from this hotel, it may sound like a good deal but the experience of dealing with these people is stressful.

Great place nice people and clean room.

Staff very friendly and helpful rooms clean nice, the maids are help full with extra things. I go down to San Diego I always stay there, you can not beat the price with great service love the free coffee in the morning.

The Sweetwater inn should highly consider changing its name, given that the water in the motels is definitely NOT SWEETWATER.
