We stayed here for 4 nights on a family vacation. The room isn't terrible. Because of the reviews I had read, I sprayed the whole room with Lysol even the beds before laying down anything. The restroom isn't that clean. Even though the cleaning ladies came in a couple of times, it was still dirty. Don't run the blow dryer and microwave together, you'll blow a fuse. Lots of night time parties, loud music, kids running around. We tried to call the front desk a few times about the noise but no one answered. My mom and brother were at the pool one afternoon and the were told no alcohol on the premise. However at night it was a whole other story. If you want a quiet place to stay this is not it. It is convenient to most San Diego attractions, however, not many good restaurants or grocery stores close by.

Love this place I don't want to leave! Friendly staff, gorgeous room, high quality everything, and close to all that you need. Highly recommend!

First let me start with bed bugs and cockroach. I booked the hotel for 3 days, on the first morning my son (2 year old) showed cockroach on the corners and to my surprise I saw a small bug walking on one of the queen size bed. I went to the facility to complain and I was shocked to know that they were aware of the issue, hence he offered me another room in 2nd floor as per his description due to tree they only have bugs in 1st floor! Due to long weekend craziness I couldn't get another hotel and I had to stay in the hotel so I moved to send floor. In 2nd floor room the flush was clogging and the room had a weird smell. I had to spray my perfume and to make to tolerable!

Treated me and my Service Dogs unprofessionally. They don't know the ADA Laws. Asked for first floor (obviously) but put me on second floor. Room was OK until you look closer. Oil stained bed skirts. Filthy carpets that you can only see by looking at the bottom of your feet. Door barely locked. Other than that typical HOTEL. Now, here comes the surprise. Please take pics before and after your stay. Your smart phone will automatically time stamp them so don't worry. The Manager charged a 150.00 extra cleaning fee because of the Service Dog. Not allowed under Federal law! Only for damages. I actually had to send these knuckleheads the ADA Justice Department guidelines. They aren't to bright in Chula Vista! I'm taking action with my Bank, Expedia, ADA, Wyndham Hotels, and Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce. Since most chain hotels are independently owned and operated they seem to run all over their guests AFTER THEY GET YOUR MONEY. More to come if there is no resolution.

I gave it a 3 star because the place needs. upgrades and thorough cleaning… beds are comfy, rooms are spacious, bathrooms need attention… I thought it was a bit pricy for what you get.

There was no issues. It's a warm place to sleep and the beds are comfy. They have breakfast but not much of a selection. Gave me a late check out at 12pm. Worked with me, lovely stay.

Writing to especially thank Mike at the front desk for his efficiency during check in of our large group, and his continuous effort to help whenever he could. The facility is older, but staff is exceptional.

Very good place to stay if you go on a trip to Chula Vista. The room was very clean, comfortable the bathroom too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sober breads cereals and fruits. What it takes to start the day. The parking is spacious and close to the room. If I come back I'll stay at this hotel again.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed, has a small refrigerator and microwave. A light breakfast is included. Good Wifi signal.

I walked a few days ago in a restaurant that is in front of this hotel, do not stay in e se place, but outside looks good, clean and comfortable.

The room was quite comfortable and good to hiziera the crush in peace.

Curtis checked us in, he was very helpful and courteous. Check in was a breeze room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was hot where needed to be hot and cold where cold was needed. Nice place.

Nice hotel, not exactly in the best area. The area immediately outside of the hotel is pretty dirty and run down, but the actual hotel is quite nice. The rooms are clean and well kept, and the doors and windows are pretty secure. Definitely felt safe and was comfortable with the amount of privacy I had.

Days Inn Chula Vista is a great and economical place to stay when in San Diego. It is very clean and the rooms are well kept. The staff is great and the location is just steps from the trolley station! Highly recommended.

Good place to rest and economic.

Clean hotel in a really convenient location, with friendly staff. The beds are really comfy and I love having a fridge and microwave in the room. I've stayed here a few times now actually, so it's consistently a good place to stay when I'm in the area. Safe bet.

Originally reserved a room with one bed but when I arrived, I request to change it to two beds. They changed it without hassle. The room did have a less then inviting smell, but that is hard to avoid in most places with similar pricing. I'd stay again with friends.

You get what you pay for, it is a good enough hotel to sleep if you are not looking for alot. It covers the basics, the area looks and feels a bit sketchy specially at night but have not had any problems in the 3 times we have stayed. Good location parks and other attractions are within 15 to 20 minutes. Good breakfast place across the street. Would stay again if looking for a place to sleep.

Zoe at the front desk was very helpful and very nice. She was able to help us with a reservation mistake online that was a panic at first. She was very nice and made sure that it was taken care of through the right source. She is a great friendly person with the right attitude. Zoe is great. The room is not too big but it's enough for two people. It's clean and the bed is very comfortable. It has lot of space to park the car. The breakfast is the average offered in that kind of places. The surrounding areas are not bad at all and there are some places for dinner around. I've enjoyed a good stay.

Super motel. Great location. Simple but abundant breakfast. Front desk people where fantastic. Helped us with sights to see n discount coupons. Room comfy n clean. Added bonus fridge n microwave in room. Great job.

When I first arrived I had my two rooms under different names. Both same last name. And the guy told me I only had one room. Gave me a lot of attitude. After fighting and arguing back and forth he finally realized I had the room under my mom's name. They missed cleaning my room two of the 4 nights. 4 people in my room and they put 3 towels EVERY DAY. I had to go to front desk every day to ask for another. Hot water was not available in my room from day one and had to get room switched. The front desk worker was a Asian male. Very sassy about my concerns when I talked to him nicely which really ticked me off. He started acting like a diva. He later apologized for his behavior/misunderstanding. I never had to deal with what I did before. Safe and clean place however. Good deal for the price I guess. Just needs a new maid and front desk worker that doesn't hate his job or his customers.

There is soap and there are a lot of people noisy in the pool pure a paratrooper.

Days Inn was a pleasant surprise. Very clean and accomodating. The staff was very friendly especially Curtis at the front desk. The rooms were very nice and included all the amenities you will need for your stay. The breakfast was good too! The location is situated right next to the trolley stop which is very convenient and it sits right between Downtown San Diego and Tijuana! The best of both worlds! I will most definitely stay here again when I am in the San Diego area!

It was an okay hotel. Wifi never worked for me. Breakfast isn't great.

My husband planned a visit to Sea World and so he booked a room at Days Inn San Diego Chula Vista. We stayed in room no. 152. The service was good and the room was clean. Complimentary breakfast was available. We got the room at a very cheap price. Overall experience was good and we might consider visiting it again.

Please if you have small kids do not stay here! worst days inn we ever went too. Good thing we are out of the hotel most of the days and will just sleep in the night. First, the breakfast is just muffin or donut nothing tasteful, thank goodness Mcdonalds is nearby. Second, when we checked in and got to the room, the SMELL IS OLD AND MOLDY. When we were about to sleep, someone was pushing our door or try to open it with a keycard, I got scared bec I have 2 kids, when I peeked on the window it was another guest who just checked in and our room was also given to them. Third, ROOM WAS NASTY, I saw 1 COCKROACH and on our last night I just noticed that BATHROOM HAS MOLDS and FURNITURES ARE DUSTY. And lastly, BAD SERVICE, we paid more than $100 per night and we stayed for 3 nights, the cleaning lady on our 3rd day just changed the towels and linens but DID NOT CLEAN THE BSTHROOM AND SINK. I took pictures and will send it to their management. Never will I stay here again!

Please PLEASE don't allow people to smoke outside non smoking rooms. If you allow them to do this then there's no point in one getting a non smoking room when you have a person smoking right outside your window. I've had 3 people smoke outside their room in the balcony and I have the door or the window open to let some air in my room and these people start smoking and all the smoke starts going into my room. I have allergies and my mother has asthma so that's why we asked for a non smoking room but when you have people smoking in the balcony or right outside your door its very difficult to enjoy your stay. Please make them smoke in the parking lot NOT outside their door where the smoke can disturb the people right next to them. My room now started smelling like smoke and I get worried the staff might think I was smoking in my room when I was not.

Comfortable bed and pillows! It did have a random vibration and humming sound that permeated the whole building.

The worst Days Inn! The first two rooms they have us the TV didn't work. Rooms are out dated than they said we spoke two towels than they said they found them.

Most of the reviews are from 6 months to 1 or 2 years! Well now this please is pretty good love the bed tons of pillows (I like pillows) clean rooms nice people.

Clean place to live in. Very cheap. However, the breakfast was not very good. Nothing warm like scrambled eggs or potatoes available for breakfast (only things available were cereals, bread, yogurt and coffee).

Look you check in and they have a questionnaire that's basically a background check. The woman working at the front desk had the audacity to ask me the questions in the paper. I refused to stay because that is none of a hotels business all they need to know is my name and how am I paying. So I refuse to stay. And get charged for a night. Calling the manager back was a NIGHTMARE. He kept talking over me. Tells me the proper way to cancel is elk in the room stay for 15 minutes and leave. Seriously?! If I'm not comfortable tha. Im not staying here. Then he proceeds to tell me I'm lying about the front desk person asking me these questions. And told me if I couldn't read them then that's why she asked. If I couldn't read them?! 1. I can read perfectly fine. 2. Yes I asked about the paper, didn't need it read to me because I can read so she starts asking me the questions. I assume she's reading it til she waits for an answer to continue. The paper asks if you've ever been arrested. Ever been to jail. Ever been on probation. Why? Has a lot of things have happened in that hotel for them to post that paper, I stay there is ago they never had that and he sat there and tried to tell me he's always had the paper there and try to keep people away. I know what hotel that place used to be. It is not much different they just change the carpet and sheets and blankets really and put flatscreen TV. Also told me of the 100s of guests he has no one has ever said anything about the questions.

I hope Corporate reads this review. From what I understand, the hotel was recently taken over by a new owner. One can hope that changes are in the wind. Pros — . Price is acceptable for the San Diego area . It's still possible to get smoking rooms (becoming harder and harder, these days) . All the small appliances/amenities were in working order, including A/C, fridge, microwave, TV, coffee maker, hair dryer and iron (bathroom toilet light burned out, during my stay) . Broad selection of TV stations, including HBO . Friendly and accommodating staff . Clean (*see exceptions below) . King bed is NOT pillow top, but relatively comfortable (coming from someone who prefers an airbed) Cons — . Wi-Fi is sketchy with 10mb upload, 7mb download speeds, but only about 40% signal strength (when I checked in, the desk clerk had been told it was down and might not be back up any time soon. So, it's unreliable) . Continental breakfast — minimal with 2 choices of dry cereal, sticky premade oatmeal, day old (? ) pastries, oranges and apples, coffee and tea choices, a non-functioning orange and apple juice machine (and no replacement offerings), yogurt and granola, plus condiments. Milk/creamer container had no lid. PLUS they require that you consume it in the breakfast room. . *hottub was filthy with visible dirt on the bottom and the water surface oily; I was in the pool area around sunset and kept being bombarded by gnats and/or mosquitoes. Didn't stay long. .

Checked in two hours late room still wasn't ready. Dirty old bedsheets and dirty tables oh well it's a days in.

This place was so nasty dirty a horrible stay for me and my 2 girls and husband, we sleeped in a room with The top of the roof was leaking had a big water spot and smelled like mold I was so sick so then they moved us 2 rooms down and the same thing in the new room, everything was just so dirty from walls to the doors to the beds shower bathroom I wore my sandals to shower, the worst part of it all was I stayed 3 nights it was suppose to be a 4 night stay but I just could handle one more night and it was non refundable so I couldn't just cancel, thank god I brought blankets from home! It was just horrible just please stay away especially if u have little ones.

When walking it, it looks decent, disregarding the dirty tables, bathroom, and 2nd hand smoke throughout whole building. Even though it says no smoking in the lobby, the manager argued with us when we conplained. *Stay Across The Street.

Room is alright, some furniture that doesnt make sense to be there. And Wi-Fi us pretty much useless, I only get 3g signal inside my room and my phones internet connection is still way faster, basically the Wi-Fi here is as slow as a dial up.

NOT A FAMILY friendly hotel. Room was disgusting, and everything was sticky. The sink was clogged. Couldn't get an extra blanket no matter how many times we asked. There were prostitutes leaving one of the rooms. Expected better because it was a days inn.

Definitely wouldn't refer this room to family or friends! * I am not expecting this to be a "hotel experience, " I understand it's a motel/inn but I do expect the rooms to be suitable for a family/ guest. First off, the customer service is horrible. If you try to contact the front desk after 11:00 p. M. It's impossible unless you yell, "hello! " from the night window. I am sure the guy on shift is sleeping. Second off, the carpets are filthy! After a min of walking around my feet were covered in a gooey, wet substance. The room smells like it had prior water damage/mold. Third, the area isn't the best, my fault I understand for picking this area but the exterior is horrible. The on-site trash cans are overflowing, pool looks disgusting and they are so hesitant to even give you a towel. Parking is unsafe, no security. Fourth, the air doesn't work and they don't do anything about it! It is so hot in the room! Horrid for a family.

A horrible place to stay. Especially if you have children. Our 9 month old was filthy after crawling around for 20 minutes. I'm still washing the dirt out of his little socks and pants. Poor little guy scratched up one of his knuckles on the carpet strip between the carpet and tile. The toilet almost overflowed twice. Our air conditioner was on the fritz. After asking for service on it, we were told to "just keep it at 60. " Are you kidding me? If we fiddled with it at all, we went from freezing to uncomfortably warm. The bathroom was not clean either. The following morning when they were cleaning rooms, they left a bunch of linens just outside our door. I almost tripped over them while I was carrying bags to the car. We went in and spoke to the manager. He had to "do some checking" and was going to call us in the evening. Took both of our cell numbers and then never called. We've tried to contact him twice since then and he cannot be reached. Front desk staff cannot tell us when he'll be back on shift either. I cannot believe that we spent over $100 (after taxes) a night on this dump! Oh, and the free breakfast? Gross! The pastries look and taste as though they were picked from the 3 day old bin, the orange juice is NOT juice, coffee was horrible, and the room was so small. There wasn't enough room for guests to get food and sit to eat. Simply ridiculous and very disappointing! Never again! Spend the extra money to stay somewhere nicer.

We booked for 4 nights thru hotwire, so far. First night there asked for non smoking the room stunk like smoke, bird crap all along the stairs and rails, would only give us 1 pool towel per person, stale muffins for breakfast, tub was super dirty. You only have 6 channels to chose from, bed crackles anytime someone moves. Just a shitty place, its cheap but like always u get what u pay for. Ps we stayed at motel 6 thats cleaner and better then this.

Great economical place to stay! Stayed here several times. If they would only fix hot tub jets and keep hot tub water hot it would be perfect. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi works well here.

WE had a awesome stay at C. V. Days inn. THE STaff was so friendly. Especially desk clerk he was so CUTE N POLITE. I recommend all to try days inn. I got more from Days Inn than the expensive Howard Johnson the nite before.

Last week we went to settle the hotel already had been there before and now this much better totally renovated, very comfortable rooms and very nice decoration TVs are plasmas and the very full breakfast. A pleasant stay a very quiet area, is close to all shopping center, restaurant, and the trolley to the cross street, but it can be ordered, and prices are low compared with hotels that are the around Central magnificent without that attention is very good and apparently still working told me Robert boy who attends at the reception which will open a gym and are under new management, really feels congratulations very good work and see you soon.
