Jen at the front desk was wonderfully helpful in getting all our rooms booked making sure our needs were met. We were there for my Aunts funeral, Jens assistance and help made a difficult time a little easier. Thank you for taking great care in your job.

Holiday Inn and Express is the best hotel in porterville. The hotel room is very nice. They are remodeling but you really cannot tell because its actually very quiet.

This is a nice motel, but I endeavor to eat a whole food plant-based diet, and the breakfast offers virtually nothing in that regard.

Very nice clean rooms, plenty of amenities and hot tub with a pool. The breakfast is very nice as well.

It was a very nice Holiday Inn, with prompt service and clean rooms. I know this is odd to compliment, but the AC worked really well which is great when it gets hot!

Good location and staff. Not the greatest breakfast, or fitness center. Rooms are spacious, clean and really comfortable. Small TV though. Renewing undergoing as of August 2018, so avoid if planning on sleeping during the day. A little bit pricey. Will stay again whenever I'm back to Porterville.

The room needs an update, but isn't by any means in bad shape. Just a touch dated with decor. The poor office chair was shot. It creaked and was tilted forward. The tub spout was coming away from the shower enclosure a little bit. It's a good thing they are getting ready to renovate. The breakfast was great. Loved their pancake machine. Was a fun gadget.

Good location to visit the parks and great hotel, clean, with pool, good breakfast. Nearby distributor, fast food and super market.

I spent one night at this property. This review is comparing this hotel against like quality/brands. Check-in was painless, with a friendly front desk clerk. The king room was clean, with a refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker. The furniture was in good repair and the HVAC system worked well. Wi-Fi was acceptable, and I did not use the fitness room. Breakfast was standard HIE fare. Several fast food restaurants/gas stations within walking distance. There are good running roads south of the hotel.

It's a very good place to crash for the night if you are just stopping by.

Location was close to Sequoia which we were visiting, front desk was polite, breakfast was terrible and had to wait on items to be prepared, young lady working had attitude. We stayed at many Express Inns this being the worst yet. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

They had a terrible breakfast and their pancake machine was broke down and like a $45 tax to stay there.

The appearance of the hotel was great. It appeared clean and presentable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we were not aware of construction that was underway on the floor above ours. The construction began with the sun and 7am. We woke to drilling cutting and pounding. After a rough night of tossing and turning in the hardest hotel bed I've ever slept in. Because we chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express we assumed the beds would at least be comfortable. I beleive a discount should be offered for anyone who chooses to stay in a hotel that is underconstruction or at least give them the option of choosing a different hotel since yours is not 100%. Also, I hope the matressres are on list to renovate. Not that our reason for visiting has anything to do with our disappointment but it added to our stress and emotion of losing a loved one. Hope this review helps someone.

Very nice hotel. Very pleased. Friendly staff and nice rooms. Bed was comfortable. Great location, close to restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

HIE is awesome. Brand new and so much better than Worst Western across the parking lot. Maids tend to take your beer if you take all of your stuff with you in the morning. Leave them a note.

Hotel is located directly across the street from a few restaurants. The breakfast was so so. The pillows were very flat. The service however was excellent.

I was recently there and had a great experience. The front desk people were very nice. The rooms were clean and quiet. The breakfast was excellent. If you are staying in Porterville, this is the hotel you want to stay in.

Nice restaurants. Having burgers king just next to hotel is always good for late night dinner. Safe looking locality, although the rooms felt a little stuffy. I guess that's mostly because of months we visited. It was super hot outside. And breakfast was nice.

The hotel was great. The surrounding food… not so much.

Hotel staff has been great… very friendly and helpful. The rooms are wonderful and very clean. Hotel is located off of Highway 190 and is within walking distance of several restaurants/fast food options. Shopping (i. E. Walmart, target, kohls, etc. ) is also fairly close. Only thing that could use some improvement is the internet connection… tried to download a movie from iTunes but couldn't, and tried to upload some photos to social media and it slowed to a near stop. When I come back I hope to stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here the night before visiting Sequoia. It is an hour drive away from the park. Price is more affordable than those motels by the park.

Very clean swimming pool! Helpful front desk! Very good breakfast. It beats all other Holiday Inn that I have been through in terms of cleanliness and service!

Attended a business meeting here. Room was overly warmed and didn't have enough plugs, but was otherwise adequate.

Customer service during graveyard was the best. I was there for work nearly a month, only down side is that housekeeping became lazy. Otherwise great!

Had a great two days at this hotel. Friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. The breakfast was hot and ready and fully stocked when I came down to grab some coffee this morning. It was a bit noisy towards the rear of the hotel due to the semi trucks leaving the distribution center across the street. But was manageable.

I have always had good stays here. Usually am in town for at least 8 nights per year and always stay here. I have never noticed any noise some people mentioned. The staff has been very helpful when needed.

Had a great experience over the weekend of 10/13/2014. The grounds and rooms are in very good condition. Very clean and neat. I was surprised when I learned the hotel was 5 years old as I originally thought it was newer. Also, the staff was very friendly and attentive to my needs. I would have given the 5 stars if it had an ocean view, but we all know the ocean is about a hundred miles west of Porterville. Will stop by again in the coming months! P. S. The person who wrote the negative review probably works across the street at Best Western. Holiday Inn is much better.

The only reason this hotel has a good rating is because the management is very good at removing negative comments. This hotel is noisy considering that it is near a Walmart Warehouse and big trucks keeps on passing by.

Checked in here overnight to take a rest from a long trip. The place is decent but not at par with Holiday Inn standards. This hotel is located near a Walmart Distribution Center. Several big trucks pass by day and night which can be very noisy. I was not able to sleep well during my stay. I don't recommend this hotel for a peaceful stay.

I stayed several nights and found this place to be above usual standards for HI express. Great location for visiting either Sequoia park or forest. The Gym is very nice.

I found it to be very relaxing and clean! I remember staying next door at the other place several times I saw this one being built — it's totally brand new — couldn't wait to stay here. Awesome breakfast too! OMG. Really nice staff and breakfast ladies. Was very enjoyable, although not the town itself so much. Prices very affordable and they match their competitor next door, no problem! Discounts for return members. I doubt I'll go back to the other hotel, unless this one is totally booked. I think you'll enjoy your stay here. :).

I called several times to make a reservation and each time was put on hold so long I had to hang up. I found the room I wanted online (while on hold) but couldn't use the "code" I was given for the wedding I was attending. I called the 800# but I was told in order to book one of the rooms that was blocked for the wedding I had to call the hotel direct! I called the Best Western and talked to a really nice and funny guy on the phone who joked with me and took my reservation. Im glad he was in a good mood cuz after dealing with the Holiday Inn Express I was not gonna be nice to the next person who couldn't help me.
