The place is amazing and close to everything! Quaint and beautiful here the rooms are spotless and very homey. The manager was very friendly and professional! This little gem will be our go to from now on when we come here!

This Place will forever be our go to place when we come back here. The hospital is over the top. The folks here are over the top, and totally bend over backwards to make you comfortable and fill like family. Totally recommend it!

This is our 2nd time here and we can't wait for our next stay. The staff is amazing and the complex is beautiful and clean. We updated our room this stay and it was amazing. We could see the ocean from our room.

I had a wonderful experience at Sunset Inn. The staff is very friendly, the room was nice, and the location was perfect. You can tell the efforts the inn does to upkeep the area. I would highly recommend staying here.

Very nice place rooms are warm walk to the beach friendly staff the only complaint I had was the gardening man was blowing leave for 2 hours sounded like he was in our room then he was cutting flowers by our widow.

The "3 C's": cozy, clean, comfortable — and just a short walk to the ocean. We appreciated the excellent bed, great rate, good fresh coffee, updated decor, lovely neighborhood, impeccably maintained property, and relaxing outdoor firepit area. We'll definitely be back!

Nice Hotel with nice staff in a fantastic scenic area. Hotel is beautifully decorated with a fireplace in the lodgstyle with Patkmöglichkeit directly in front of the door. Breakfast is typical American but Good. Again and again.

Super cute place! The staff was super friendly and everything was wonderful! I will say, though it didn't bother me at all, cell phone service and Wi-Fi is spotty at best. We enjoyed being able to disconnect from our phones, but for those with small children, maybe download movies before you get here. I don't know that streaming will work that well.

Great place. I was in the area for the Big Sur Marathon and stayed there for four nights. Very close to the ocean so I got to do some scenic runs in the morning, unforgettable. Close to most places you will want to visit while in the area. Staff is very nice and helpful, they allowed me to shower and check out a couple of hours after the regular check out time (the race finishes in Carmel around 11 am so I needed a bit more time, was flying the same evening back home). Highly recommended.

Rishi the manager/owner is one of the nicest people in the world! He makes you feel like family and cares deeply that you have a perfect stay. Quaint rooms, clean and cozy. Nice breakfast area and beautiful new glass-filled outside fireplace and sitting area. Perfect location by the beach to watch the sunset and walk on trails. Close to lots of nice restaurants and shops in Pacific Grove. This is our second year here and we will return! Our room has a fireplace, balcony and jacuzzi tub.

It was very easy to find the inn. There's plenty of parking inside, so we did not have any issues when coming back late at night. The check in process was easy and quick. They also provided some juice, snacks, and breakfast at the main building. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the walls are thin so you are able to hear your neighbors conversations. Thankfully the bathroom fan provided enough white noise to drown it out.

The bathroom shower handle was broken. It would keep spinning so you could not set hot/cold water temp. Also the toilet handle was falling off. We reported these to the front desk and owner was aware of the issue but doesn’t want to spent money on the plumber who would have to replace the entire handle inside the wall. This was bad experience and we paid for a non-working room. He gave a credit for $20 Really he should not book rooms with known issues until fixed.

People there are very nice and invited my husband and I for a glass of wine after we settled in our room. Perfect location. We were able to ride our bikes from our room all along the coast. Room was very clean, cozy and welcoming. Look forward to next stay.

Stayed 4 nights. Confortable room with queen bed, fireplace and a jacuzzi. Simple and efficient for an affordable price. All amenities, great service and friendly front desk. Efficient and trustworthy cleaning services. Good Wi-Fi, convenient parking spots. Special thanks to Sam, very helpful.

We had a great time in this boutique hotel. The owner is very nice and generous. The rooms were clean and neat with many cable channels to keep us entertained when we stay in the room.

Pro's: Great location in a safe comfortable neighborhood. Very clean, good parking, nice staff, great price. Fridge and fireplace. Cons: Room was very small but we don't mind. Plenty of room to do what you need. Wi-Fi was weak and 4G bad here. All else was good. We were very happy with what we received for the money if a little Spartan.

I have stayed here multiple times. Very quiet. Stayed on 2/25/18 someones kid decided to write on my wifes car with a marker. The Sunset Inn has been great other than that.

What a great place to stay while visiting the Monterey Peninsula. We can walk to the beach and easily drive to the Aquarium or Carmel. The rooms are spic and span and plenty of hot water and very quiet. The foods provided for breakfast are varied and tasty. We love the fresh fruit. What makes this place so outstanding is the warm and attentive service of the staff. They are very helpful.

This place and the staff are really nice. It's a nice little intimate vacation spot. This is my first trip here and I would definitely return for another night. I received a small FREE bouquet of flowers for my birthday from the Inn. Free Wi-Fi and nice fireplace. I sat by the fireplace and enjoyed a doughnut and drink. The atmosphere is just awesome and it was a really nice experience. I want the kitchenette next time I return with my whole family.

There are a number of pluses and only one minor suggestion for improvement. The pluses: its location is perfect for walks along the coast and easy access to dining and shops in Pacific Grove. The exterior was nicely updated with flowers throughout and tables near the front. The interior was very clean and comfortable and the TV channels and reception were very good. The mini-fridge, microwave and fireplace are always nice amenities. The price is also very reasonable and the staff was very pleasant to deal with. The only minor suggestion I have is to update the towels. They were a little worn and thin. I come to the Monterey area roughly every year and will definitely make plans to stay here next time I am in this area.

Location is at Pacific Grove monterey! One of the best one in that area. Rooms are great, includes all the basic necessities. Clean, neat and great for stay.

The room was amazing as was the locally sourced breakfast. The best part was opening the windows and listening to the waves crash along the shore. I really cannot recommend this place enough!

We loved this hotel! The fireplace in our room, gorgeous shower, comfy bed and socializing by the fire pit made it the favorite hotel of our west coast vacation. An easy walk to the lighthouse and beach, nearby restaurants and proximity to places we wanted to visit made it great for us. Leave the windows open at night and listen to the ocean lull you to sleep!

What a quaint place to lay your head to sleep. My travel partner and I just needed a clean and affordable place to stay the night passing through Monterey, CA and what a place this is to stumble upon. They have bungalow style rooms with updated finishes. Quiet. Clean. Reasonably priced. They have manicured landscapes. A paved driveway which I would love for my home and a friendly courteous front desk staff. However the front desk is only open from 8-9p and there's an on call night manager in case of emergent matters. The beach is a 2 minute drive or a 5-7 min walk. We recommend driving over at night to stargaze while parked on the side of the road. Bring a blanket and a snack or warm drink. We took advantage of the light complimentary breakfast before heading out for the next leg of our road trip we would stay here again for sure. Cheers!

Absolutely Beautiful! Such friendly staff. Comfortable and clean! Good breakfast spread. And the fire on the porch was a wonderful spot to eat in the morning. I would so stay here again!

Our time at Sunset Inn was fabulous. The location was gorgeous the staff were friendly and the overall time we had there was just great. One thing I'd say is the room was quite hot and there was no air conditioning so that made it a bit challenging. Our fireplace wouldn't turn off but when we escalated the issue to the staff they were fantastic and helped right away. We loved our time there and would go back in a heart beat.

Overall, a very nice little bunch of seaside rooms. Five minutes walk to the beach. There isn't air conditioning, so be warned for the summer months. Rooms are simple, but clean.

Stayed in one of the nicer rooms. The bed was very comfortable, the Jacuzzi tub was spacious, and the hotel itself is in a good location. I don't know how good the rooms would be for families.

Were one night there. Many a large hotel can cut off a slice here. Coffee machine and cozy bed. Price-/performance good. Great quiet location.

We traveled in North California for a week a tried many different hotels in the same price range, this one was by far the best one. 3 things stand out: — The room decoration, size and attention to details seem to be from a much higher price range. — The breakfast was much more that what we usually got. They offer yogurts, fruits, donuts, juices… everything fresh — The staff is SUPER friendly. I definitively recommend.

Great hidden cottages. Recently redone and very comfy. Will definitely be coming back.

Room was fantastic, very clean. Had a whirlpool and fireplace and big TV. Very cozy. Staff was exceptionally nice, and even directed me to a few restaurants with coupons for free appetizers. Breakfast was simple but good. Allowed us to have a later checkout. Within walking distance of a beach. Great experience overall!

Super cute place to stay with reasonable rates, a fantastic location and friendly service.

Great stay, comfortable and clean room in very quiet location. Prices are competitive and even a little under for what you get. Only a few complaints and they would be parking is some what lacking so if you had a larger vehicle that might be an issue. The room was on the smaller side but just fine for 2 people. I also didn't see an air conditioning unit so beware in summer months it might be a little warm. Over all great place and I would recommend it.

The staff is amazing. The rooms look great. Wood floors, fireplace, great looking tile bathroom. Courtyard area with outdoor chairs and fireplace. Great price in a great location. Can't wait to go back.

Loved room 117. End unit, large whirpool tub. Cute room style and relaxing. Short walk to the rocky beach. Room could have used a more thorough cleaning, but it was acceptable! Loved the option for the fireplace too. Super friendly staff. Would stay here again. Short drive or bike ride to town and Monterey. Although I prefer Pacific Grove to the hustle of Cannery Row. Agree with the other reviewer, the bed was a bit hard.
