Room was surprisingly hot when we entered. Room was clean enough but there was a weird smell coming from the shower curtain. Air conditioning was loud and necessary to run because it was hot.

So clean and comfortable rooms. Its a safest place ever. Excellent people at reception. Manager (Nick) is a great person so helpful. Night time staff is osm (Kartik). Always best price for everyone. I only recommend to stay at this place.

I stayed here for a few weeks while I was working out of town. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is very quite and welcoming. Glad to stay here and will again if traveling to Merced.

Would have liked to have a tub in the room but other than that we had a great experience.

We were in a suite it was very spacious room with a jacuzzi tub. The owners were very nice and accomidating.

This review if for the Merced Travelodge, a budget motel. I've stayed at this motel periodically over many years. First the fundamentals. The rooms are clean, the facilities (heat, air-conditioning, hot water, microwave, refrigerator) all work well. The rooms have large screen TVs and cable with HBO service and they also supply free Wi-Fi. The free continental breakfast is very basic consisting of cereal, toaster waffles, muffins, juice, milk, coffee is all fresh and free. For a family traveling this is a real benefit and a money saver. These are all features available at many budget motels. What distinguishes this facility is location. It is an easy ½ mile drive off the freeway on highway 140, one of the three roads to Yosemite National Park. This is a real benefit since railroad tracks run along the freeway and the train does run at night. Motels next to the freeway get much more road noise and when a train comes through it is much, much louder than at this motel's location. Another nice additional feature of this motel's location is a less expensive fueling station is on the same block with easy access. The fuel price is about 10% less than the stations right next to the freeway. These are all real help for travelers on a budget. I recommend this motel for any traveler who wants a good night sleep and does a good job meeting all the basic travelers needs.

I got off AmTrack this morning very cold and wanted to find a place. I'm traveling by bike and needed a place to rest. I brought my bike into the lobby and the attendant told me to get my bike out in a very rude way. I was ready to pay for a room and he did not even give me a chance to do busyness with him. Mostly this was the welcome I got in Merced. My first and last experience with this entity. I know there are nicer places to stay here in Merced and way more welcoming people. This is my first review ever for the record. I recommend checking for bed bugs just in case you do stay here…

I was going to stay at Travelodge but found a better deal at the Rodeway Inn. Unfortunately the Google Opinion Rewards app is forcing me to rate Travelodge even though I didn't actually stay there… I just parked in their parking lot where I ended up booking my stay at Rodeway Inn instead.

It's ok, kind of what you expect from a Travelodge. The good thing was they allow pets for a small fee and on this trip we needed that. Managers seemed nice. Room was clean enough.

Very customer oriented management. I had a NO SHOW charge due to central Wyndham website cancellation did not pass through. The owner listened to the situation carefully and decided to credit the full amount. I thanked the owner personally.

Their customer service was average I didn't feel any extra effort or enthusiasm in ensuring I had a great stay.

I love how they service their customer well. Gave us free popcorns for night and before we leave treated us free protein bars, what a wonderful nigh here! Room: clean and comfort Parking: friendly Breakfast: complimentary.

The customer service rep. Which may have been the owner was very welcome and courteous upon arrival and check out. It was an inexpensive place to stay and a great value. We stopped on our way to Yosemite as most people do and it was a place to sleep. I wouldn't call it fancy nor new however our room was clean, staff was great. If you are looking for a honeymoon suite or the type of person to spend a lot of time in their room, it may not be for you.

Safe area. Location was good, it was just around 40 miles from Yosemite and manager was kind and helpful. He told us to get there early because of heavy traffic. Rooms were clean and enough with toiletries supply.

The new owner has really improved the quality of service. The staff was courteous and made sure we had a great experience. For breakfast there was also a variety of food available. Would stay here again.

Just went on a cross country road trip and I have to say this is my favorite place we stayed. Is it super fancy? No. It's a Travelodge, this place knows what it is and does it well. The service? 10/10. Shoutout to the Manager Nick Patel, he's the best, super hospitable and just a cool guy. If you're looking for a cheap place outside of Yosemite stay here and meet the best manager in the game.

A relaxing pool, very affordable and good middle point between Yosemite and San Francisco. Beds were not comfortable and I could feel the springs while sleeping.

Creepy. Tiny room, thin walls — the banging of the next room's headboard, punctuated by squeals and moans makes it not kid friendly. Even the cleanliness of the room couldn't offset its grubby feel. Ugly old curtains and bedspread. Dark colors made it feel even smaller. Surprisingly, the shower was a good size and the tile work well done and attractive. The breakfast was dismal and parking tight. Makes a great story but spare yourself.

Great hotel for the price. Great location to visit Yosemite.

Bed is a little hard, no problem… but Wi-Fi bearly work.

The thermostat didn't work, my room was covered in creepy "sleepy bear" decor, and the continental breakfast was subpar. Otherwise, everything was fine. It was cheap, the staff were friendly, and it was a relatively comfortable place to sleep.

Clean rooms friendly staff. Every time I stay here it seems like there are shady people there all the time. Could make some people feel uncomfortable. But if you are looking for cheap lodging in the area this place is fine.

Location at the edge of Merced on the road to Yosemite is perfect. Looks good from outside. Rooms are disgraceful. I mean really bad. Ceiling fan blades broken swinging wildly, fans popping out of the bathroom wall, chip crumbs inside drawers, badly mismatched furniture, antiquated electronics, no room phone. Just really really bad.

It had a resident cat, which was cool. It asked for really a lot of personal information at check-in, which was not.

Location is nice. Rooms are very cozy and comfortable. The staff is very informative and knowledgeable.

I stay here fairly often when coming to Merced for Doctors appointments, mainly because of the rates. Of course, you generally get what you pay for. Most of my stays have been pleasant and the rooms have been clean and adequate for just one person and my small dog. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating. This past Memorial weekend I stayed 4 nights. For the first time I was somewhat disappointed with my room. I chose a non-smoking room, (even though I am a smoker), and the first thing I noticed was a cigarette burn hole right in the middle of the bedspread. The room seemed clean though I did find some empty water bottles and some wrappers behind the headboard. (I was looking for plugs… there were maybe 5 in the whole room… all hidden and already in use). The sink faucet handle fell off the first time I tried to use it. It was one round faucet and was not attached so I had to use the little brass piece the knob attaches to. The hot and cold water were backwards, with the cold to the left and hot to the right. The light over the mirror had been removed, the holes patched, but never sanded or painted. One round plastic fixture to the left of the mirror with a bulb. The shower really needs updating as well. No light in the closet, over the make-up desk and mirror, nor on or over the writing desk. Basically a ceiling light, two end table lights, and the bathroom light. I guess really nothing too major… just annoying, no matter what the price is.

Dirty Towel with hair and awful smell on bed. Poorly prepare Breakfast two chairs for entire motel. I felt sorry for European tourists swallow food on standing. Worse than Army food and horrible attitude of manager. Everyone looks pissed off. Good review fooled me. I can't trust reviews any more.

Room relatively clean and comfortable, I slept well. But, they but did not have requested ground floor room for me. In room alarm clock and TV did not work. Door key cards did not work, requiring two visits to office and a visit from maintenance to get into the room. Free breakfast is limited and in a tiny space, not even worth crowding in for. This was a short visit for me, where I did little in the room except sleep. Problems would have been a real issue on a longer stay.

The rooms are a bit small, BUT they are very clean. Internet, HBO, safe, coffee machines and individual ac/heater units. Clean pool (that was a pleasant surprise! ) All in all, it looks a bit rough at first, but it really is quite nice. Especially considering prices.

It was really nice and the employees are nice but doesn't know much English.

DO NOT DISTURB I got a "do not disturb" sign on my hotel door. It says "do not disturb". It’s time to go with "don't disturb". It’s been "do not disturb" for too long. We need to embrace the contraction. "Don't disturb". "Do Not" psyches you out. "'Do, ' alright I get to disturb this guy. 'Not, ' SHIT! I need to read faster! " (Hedberg 2003) That’s a joke from Mitch Hedberg 24FEB1968-30MAR2005, on his album “Mitch All Together. ” He died way too early but his jokes live on in CD’s, Online, iTunes, and “Raw Dog” on Sirius/XM which is where I first heard this. I laughed the way I used to when Eddie Murphy used to be funny. In fact, I’m downloading his work as I write this review. As comedy is based on tragedy, Mitch’s joke is all too often the real-life experience for many the weary traveler. This time, for me, it was the Travelodge in Merced CA who earns my latest lambasting. It’s my fault for not traveling just a bit further, but I wound up in Merced, again. This was the third time I was too tired to go further and stayed at a Hotel in the area. The third time was definitely not a charm as the cliché goes. I put the DO NOT DISTURB sign out but still, got a waking knock on the door from housekeeping not once, but twice. And both times the lovely Latinas didn’t understand a word I was saying. So in adding to the late Mr. Hedberg’s wisdom, should these signs be bi-lingual? It’s perfectly fair to be an equal opportunity employer. I agree with that policy and law.

The room rate is not reasonable. The location is good for visiting to Yosemite National Park, I think. But the room space is very narrow and I felt bad smelling outside. It was noisy that many trains run in the night. Wifi is good.

Simple, nice, clean, reasonably priced, conveniently located, free Wi-Fi.

Me and my wife stayed in this hotel when we traveled to Merced for her residency interview. I expected a low budget hotel facilities, but amazingly it had more than what I expected. It was very clean and tidy. Had a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. Most of all the internet worked great. In fact, I was working those two days when we stayed there, The broadband connections was so good that I felt as if I work from my office. Another important thing is the staff. They were extremely friendly and nice. For sure, if I need to comeback to Merced or Yosemite area, I will prefer this hotel. Rating Excellent for the facilities and hospitality I received for what I paid.
