One of the most convenient family oriented places to stay in for a summer vacation, I stayed there 4 times when it was Oakwood apartments, before they change the name to Pearls, I hope it will remain the same and even better than before with all the facilities in the premisses. Good location, close to shops, restaurants, markets, and beach. There are 1bdr, 2bdr apartments to rent by Airbnb.

I was looking for apartments to live in for my new job. I ended going with a different place solely based on its location being closest to work. However the Pearl was a close runner up. The atmosphere felt very alive being right next to the Marina. Living units were also very comparable to what I was researching with continuous renovations and improvements going on. Would definitely recommend someone to consider living at the Pearl.

Rooms were nice but a little outdated. Parking was good.

This place is probably the best place to stay for your buck. 10 minutes walk to the beach and shops. They have both long term and overnight type tenants here. There is a pool area with grills and tables with umbrellas. Security can be a bit tight.

Great location — close to beach and many restaurants. Oakwood facilities are nice — big pool, nice gym. Rooms are a bit dated.

Great location. Heated pool and jacuzzi with BBQ grills. Mix of tourists and locals. Lots of fun.

The rooms are smelly, damp, extremely dated and gloomy so I wouldn't label this place as modern or lavishly comfortable in the slightest, however they were clean and in an upmarket area very close to beaches and good eatery which is good if staying here whilst on business for a short time. I would stay here again if only sleeping is concerned as it does the job and is quite affordable with the location being the feature of this establishment. Other than that I would look for somewhere else more cared for if on holiday.

Disgusting! Please do not stay here. I stayed through airbnb, and everything is old and dirty. The building is unclean. In the hallways the carpets are filthy dirt. We intoxicamos with the water. The washer and dryer in the laundry room are disgusting. Have a musty smell. People q I rented through airbnb went up photos of the department where you cannot see them q the bathrooms are of thousand years ago. Too many pretenses for a place so fourth. Don't go! I used to rent through airbnb and have never had an experience like that.

I made a restraunt delivery for a guest here. Oakwood needs to provide better parking facilities for deliveries so that their guests can better be served by delivery companies such as Amazon Flex.

I would never stay there again. Smells, dated, and you can never get a room you prefer. They have a take what you get policy. If you have a concern they never return your phone call.

The service is great, it's so close to the beach and completely worth a stay. The only reason for a 4 star is because the key we had wouldnt always work, at least once a day it would break on us and we'd have to go to the front desk to get into our room. But it was still an awesome stay and would definitely come back again.

Room was nice and clean. Counter staff were helpful and friendly. Pool and spa were great, especially being open quite late so you could go for a late swim. About a 5 min walk from Venice Beach and other amenities are pretty close.

This place is a legit dump. The location is really all there is going for for it. The carpets haven't been changed in what has to be 25 years and it gives every room the aroma of rotten Indian food. The security guard walks around with his chest puffed out barking at (well behaved) kids (teenage) in the pool yet in my short stay we got a letter on our doors notifying us of recent break ins on the property. Unfortunate, because with that location it could honestly have been a great stay.

The oakwood marina del Ray was very pleasant to stay at. The moment me and my family walked in we were greeted and were asked for help with our bags. The ambiance was somewhat modern but also welcoming. The employees spoke with my children and were very friendly and playful. The rooms were clean and the pool was very nice.

The location is awesome. The landscaping is awesome. The employees are awesome. The services they offer are awesome. But the most important thing about the entire apartments suck, the rooms. They are so outdated. I've heard stories of cockroaches and I've also seen brown water come out of my sink. They offer so much but provide so little for the rooms. The beds are uncomfortable and old as well.

Thin walls however… This is a great spot for an extended stay in the area. My daughter and I were there for a medical procedure. The apartment was clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we could use — although salt & pepper would have been a bonus in the shakers. We enjoyed the pool and exercise facilities. The patio off the living room was nice. I was surprised there were no screens on the windows or partial opening locks (for security). You could hear your neighbours if they were noisy beside and above along with barking little dogs in adjacent units. The fact this facility accepts pets is a bonus however listening to the yappy little dogs got tired fast. Glad I brought earplugs. The laundry facilities are good once you figure them out. The staff of the convenience store on site obviously hated their job as they were less than friendly or helpful. Parking was secure. The unit was clean and housekeeping weekly was nice. Close to the bay and Venice Beach so able to walk to local attractions. Would certainly stay there again if for an extended visit. Cheesecake Factory is a short walk away if you so desire. Rating would have been higher except for the thin walls and yappy dogs.

Dirty, dingy, overpriced, poor service, mold, etc… Only pro is proximity to the beach.

Stay last year great place abit dated but very clean &a very handy to beach, bars, shops etc.

Unless your company's paying for it, stay elsewhere! By no means worth the cost! ($1200/month EACH for my roommate and I to share a one-bedroom). The only positive interactions I had with staff were with the nice folks that work in the convenience store. From my first arrival at the location where I had to drag my suitcase up the steep front stairs, and through our backed-up sink episode (more on that later), it was clear that customer service was *not* a priority for Oakwood. Disorganization was a major issue at this location. A week before my arrival, I was given my apt number, and respective mailing address. This was important as I was supposed to be getting several reimbursement checks from earlier mailed to me. However, upon arrival, my room was changed on me, with no assistance being given with the incoming mail. Furthermore, I was not given a mailbox key, and had to follow up with the desk a couple times to get that (how does that not just come with your room key? ). Towards the middle of my 3-month stay, I was asked to email my move-out date to the front desk. I did so promptly. Two weeks later, I receive an email confirming my move out date… with a completely incorrect date! I email to clarify and never received confirmation back. Upon entering my first floor room, I was struck with the feeling that I was stepping into a walk-out basement.

Time warp to 1989 (quarter century ago). Break out your old mix tapes, room has cassette player. But wait thers more, a single 19inch tube TV comes standard. Other odities include bathroom sink at almost knee level. Do you like the smell of 25 years of stale cig smoke in your room, then this place is for you. Broken partical board furniture comes standard. Parking for only 1/2 the guests because parking is perpetually under construction. For the same price your much better off staying at a holiday inn. Will never return. Oh the gym is nice but the AC doesn't work or is woefully under powered, its like breathing dog breath, no wonder the equipment is in good shape. How does leaf blowers, lawn equipment and chain saws at 7am sound to you? On the plus side there was no bed bugs, kitchen was clean and room had been painted resently.

Really bad shape. The Oakwood Marina del Rey Apartments are extremly expensive and in a completely bad conditions. Would never book again here.

OAKWOOD is simply the best. Convenient location, nice people, nice facilities, nice apartments. Just great not much of a resort and just comfortable.

Oakwood is the united nations of nice people with a beautiful super nice staff and management 1 block from venice beach! i have stayed at at least 20 apt. Complexes in the area as a bachelor, a roommate situation and leasing them myself. This is an honest review and very serious although I will throw a couple of jokes in there. I will tell you all the good features and what they need to change, add or improve on. A — 2 thumbs up Highly recommended If your trying to decide on moving in than trust me you should sign the lease asap before it's gone! You can fix the apt. Really nice, Kim and her super friendly staff will take great care of you and they are honest and fair. The location is unbeatable and the complexs tenants are super nice and friendly. The apt also has every amenity. I am a total Venice Beach local I know the area and this place is a beautiful secret oasis. super safe for family's and young kids. 1 block from the beach surfin, dining, shops and beautiful venice beach pier. easily the best place to live in la and california. mothers beach is directly across the street the venice canals are 1 block away and super artistic fun party town venice beach is 2 blocks away. Thw location is really safe and great for family's but super artistic, trendy and fun venice beach party town is walking distance away. super affordable and has everything you need.

The apartment is spacious and very well placed!
And silent which is rare in the USA.

Good place to stay for a single guy — lots of young, beautiful girls in the summer that stay there, that eager to talk to you after you talk to them in hot tub. Also Sunday BBQ cookouts by long time residents are great. Managenet allows you to drink by the pool and hot tub — which is great for entertaining girls. Very close to the beach and bars — cant ask for more! If you into sports in beach this is the best place to stay because it's close to the ocean Venice Beach basketball and tennis courts close to all the bars search of Cabo Cantina Baja Cantina and the whaler this is a prime location for all short and long term stay around Marina del Rey.

Location: very good. Close to beach, nice bar and restaurant scene, Venice canals and Abbot Kinney. Facilities: beautiful pool, nice landscaping, good amenities (though the prices in the sundry store and for dry cleaning are outlandish — fortunately there are lots of options outside the complex). Apartment: good enough, what you would expect if you have stayed at Oakwood before. I. E. Nice in some ways, but don't for example expect to "really" cook with their equipment. Service: no problems. Internet: no problems. I've enjoyed my stay.

Rude, condescending staff is barely available during office hours and is certainly not there to assist the tenants. I was locked out of my apartment when I went down to do laundry (auto-locking doors and I left my keys inside). I figured they could look me up on the computer, verbally verify whatever info they needed on my lease and let me in my apt. I've done that plenty of times at hotels. They grilled me for ID, but I kept explaining I didn't plan to go anywhere except the laundry room and didn't even have my shoes on let alone my purse. They tried to tell me at 10am that I had to wait for my husband to come home that evening with his keys or ID but they couldn't help me without ID. What if I were single?! Surely I can't be the only person to lock in her keys and ID simultaneously? It took forever, I raised a fit, and the manager had to be called before they let me into my apartment to get my purse and show them my ID. Even then they didn't have the decency to apologize for the wait and distrust, they simply left. Also making it hard to get decent customer service, the front desk is often closed during office hours even though someone is behind the rolling door working. If you knock on the side door or speak to them through the rolling door they will reluctantly help you while rolling their eyes because they thought you were their manager.
