Room smelled strongly of fish. Left a charger for a phone $40 charger. No one was in the office to let us back in the room so I called. They found the charger had me send them a prepaid envelope to return it to me. Never returned it. Lied to me several times and won’t refund the money or replace the charger.

So many roaches we slept in sleeping bags. Room was filthy and not up to covid reopening Health and safety standards.

Gross filthy dirty scanky rooms, no refunds and they disrespect our military, do NOT go there.

Really chill vibes here. The check in lady sharon was very friendly and extremely helpful. Appreciated it very much.

Do not stay here the worst hotel in California do not stay here it has nothing to offer the pictures you see are not real do not stay here a lot of problems here management Don't. Care About you management only wants your money do not stay here the worst parking ever number of problems would not fix do not stay here.

This is my second time here! We love it! Cute, quaint and centrally located.

The customer service, front desk, management, emailing, billing, receptionist and overall atmosphere was just plain rotten. Really hoping you can get your stuff together. This hotel is awesome, but will never stay again due to the level of unprofessionalism.

Rooms are decent! The staff checking in is rude! They weren't supposed to hold money before I checked in and they did. They also said nothing about a deposit and charge you one which places a hold on your card for 7 days! Was supposed to have a room with a kitchenette and didn't! So won't be staying here anymore!

I don’t even know where to begin. First off no ac why book someone a room and not mention that. I can tell the rooms are not cleaned the proper way. Does anyone even clean them? My family and I stayed there for 3 nights. We found dirty clothes under the bed, food wrappers and pills inside a nightstand that my 1 yr old son managed to put in his mouth. Luckily I caught him on time. Bathtub was pretty dirty I wore my sandals each time I showered also towels looked pretty old. The pillows were so worn out we went and bought our own. Don’t think we’ll be coming back.

I am very cautious when leaving negative reviews. I run a service business so I understand the importance of a review. I tend to give a second chance before writing a negative review. Anyone can have a bad day. A month ago or so I booked a room at the seahorse resort in San Clemente. I’d be going with my soon to be 17 year old son. We decided to take a trip before he starts his senior year in high school. Anyway we decided to add a day and night to our trip and the seahorse was all booked for that night. So my wife found this place, On short notice and for only one night. We called as we rolled into town from Arizona hoping we could check in early and head to the beach for the day. The rooms would not be ready. We were told they were short on staff. I said I understand and said no problem. She told us to come back by 3:00. So we went to he beach and came back at ten after three. The room wasn’t ready. The lady at the front desk was nice and said we could put our expensive mountain bikes in the uncleaned room. I thought that was nice. We would go to the store and come back at 4:00 and the room would be ready. We came back at 4:00 the room was still not ready. She told me the check in time is from 3-9 based on availability! I never heard hat before in by 50 years of traveling. Anyway by 5:00 the room was ready. They switched the room because the one they were gonna give us did not have air conditioning. I booked a room with ac purposely. That all got worked out.

Amazingly beautiful place to stay. Everyone was so kind and accommodating! We had the most amazing time. The grounds are beautiful and extremely close to the beach, stores, and restaurants! The town is very small but absolutely wonderful!

I read alot of reviews about this place before booking so I fully knew what I was getting into. I was visiting my friend who lives in a studio downtown and this was the closest place to his. I honestly was expecting a dump where I would just sleep but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes place is old and could use some cleanup and repairs but overall I really liked this place. They have a large patio area with a grill for guests to use, which we took full advantage of my first night in town. It's close to the all the bars, shops and restaurants and is a short walk to the beach. The manager was super friendly and very accommodating and kept her cool when it seemed to be one fiasco after another during check-in while training a new employee. She also went out of her way to find me a fan when they thought they were out of them. I'd definitely stay here again.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked our 2 bedroom apartment style room over a month before arriving. Once we arrived we checked in and payed for our stay. We opened the hotel room door it was the average hotel with 2 beds… Once it was brought to the receptionist attention that wasn't the room we just paid for she didn't understand how we weren't notified that the room we booked didn't even exist anymore! Thanks for telling me before you took my money! She was very rude and unprofessional. I was given a sticky note with an email address and was told to email the owner to possibly get a discount on my room. I still haven't heard back from the owner. Don't waste your time.

This hotel is definitely not one my husband and I would recommend to anyone. For $83.70 a night… there was no air conditioning just a plug in fan, the sheets on the bed were very scratchy, walls were dirty, water took very long to heat up, it was very cramped especially since when you open the door it goes right into the kitchenette, no new toliet paper in the restrooms, but instead just two half used rolls left in there, and it continuously smelt like there was a gas leak somewhere. It just overall wasn't a place my husband and I would come back to. We have stayed at a lot of hotels over the past year, and although it wasn't the worst one we have stayed at, it is definitely at the bottom of the list. Not to mention when I was calling at first to see about cancelling through priceline, the lady at the desk would keep interrupting me while I was on the phone or interrupting me while I was discussing with my husband about just dealing with it and staying here for the night which is what we ended up doing. It just was not a good experience.

The oceana location is one of my favorite places to stay. Great price. The new makeover makes the stay that much better.

Nestled into San Clemente neighborhood blocks from the beach, pier, both easy walking distance if you are only walking down hill. The beds are old but not too bad. Everything was clean. Minimal amenities: no closet or rack or hooks to hang up clothes. Nice patio area to enjoy the weather and socialize, with a gas grill if you want to save money and eat well. Low key, cozu, easygoing, but not a destination.

Where do I start, let’s start with the fact that they do not have any queen beds in the motel contrary to the room description saying they do. The rooms and floors were dirty, and I found very long dark hairs in the tub and on the toilet. NO house keeping could have missed this if they had just looked. When we checked in pay attention to the “15 minute” time you’ll have to notify the front office weather or not you are satisfied with your room. Because after that 15 minutes they just point to the fact that u had 15 min to bring up any issues or it’s on you. There were damp dirty towels in the bathroom laid over the toilet and some soap that the hotel didn’t even carry on the trash and on the counter. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, Joana just played dumb and proceeded to accuse use of having dirtied the room. This hotel lacks any customer service or personal service. The 2 bedroom apartment w/kitchenette is a joke and u can barely walk around the place it’s so cramped. Do not stay unless need a quick crash pad. Terrible area too, nothing but duplexes up and down the street. Stay away from this hotel, I could go one but I’m done. Still waiting for my refund and some kind of response after a week of requests. They have NO house keeping cause I took a pic of there ad for help, and my feet after being out of the shower less than 10min, the dirty towels and trash, and I have video. Please avoid this place at all costs.

What Motel closes it's office early and opens late and then expects you to wait for them to open there doors to recieve your $100 deposit. I'm out here for work and they want me to wait until 11 Am what kind of place is this. Crooks who sleep in.

This place is terrible. We rented 2 two bedrooms with kitchen. In ours no ceiling fan lights worked. Stove didn’t work. Light bulbs were so dim in bedside tables could barely see. After paying 130.00 extra for 2 bedrooms in 2 apartments we were forced to move too 1 bedrooms after paying 260.00 for two units we were offered a 50.00 credit. This place stinks. You would be better off in your car. If there was a lower score then 1 star this place would get it. Thanks for letting me rant.

Loved this little hotel. Very quaint and the iwner was lovely. Would definately recommend and would love to stay again in the future.

I had one of the best times in San Clemente when I stayed here everyone was so friendly the staff is very very professional and find and great rates.

The manager entered our room illegally, stole over $5k in cash and when I was not able to stop her took my belongings and would not return them. Her public criminal record speaks for itself and unfortunately she and the hotel will have some accounting to do. If you value your privacy, and your personal property do not stay here if it is run by Alex Shaw and her sidekick Shelly.

Nice place. Very friendly and out going Mgr. Went out of her way to get us checked in. The place has a huge BBQ grill that you can utilize 24-7. Only problem I found with this place is. There's no clothing hook's to hang up anything. The water will go from one extreme to the other in a flash and the hot water is extremely hot so you must watch out for that in morning. Other than that. I will definitely go back when I find myself out in San Clemente again…

This place truley is a gem! Location is amazing of course but more so the warm feeling I've gotten from the staff takes the cake! Full kitchen with a stove and oven in a prime area, u can't ask for more! I made me some salmon right in the room and was able to enjoy it in the nice outdoor seating area!

Motel sign clearly visible on a main street but blocks away from the motel. Opened my rooms door, hit the light switch got nothing. Yes there were several lights in my room but none were easy to turn on. Luckily the bathroom light switch worked and I had some light. I was fortunate that there was still someone in the office to help me turn the lights on. (office closes at 7pm) Nice heater thermostat on the wall BUT it didn’t turn on the heater in the room. Very big flat screen tv. Frig. & microwave in the room. Yippee! best thing about the room. Password given for Internet connection but it would NOT work. I found out later I was lucky it didn’t work; Ran into another person staying at the inn he told me his computer and phone were seriously HACKED using the hotels Internet connection. The room is reasonably clean except the waded up hand towel in the back of the shelf in the bathroom. Probably too high for the cleaning person to see. If you're picky or used to services most motels or hotels commonly provide you won't like staying here. Example; Coffee, you like coffee well NO coffee service here in the room or closed office. You are gonna love this, I met the person with the Hacked phone and computer because he locked himself out of the room at 8 am and there is NO staff on site until 11am, I let him in my room for awhile but had to leave and put this stocking footed person out. You call their number posted and they tell you the office hours.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels. And I've never gotten near the accomadations and help that I did here. We came out for veterans weekend to see my marine man and we checked out with some of the funniest memories ever from just our hotel rooms. The hotel staff was so kind and helpful and have such great personalities! The rooms were newly repainted and look beautiful! You definitely need a sense of humor to stay here! The showers are a little bipolar.

I just watched the Hotel Impossible episode about your hotel, I hope that you will do a better job now that millions of people have seen your cute place. Please keep your rooms clean and the other small things will work themselves out! Good luck!

Overall location was great, cute quaint rooms, and a cool beach atmosphere. Unfortunately, if anything happens after 9pm (office closes) your S. O. L In addition to, any concerns or issues you might have. Are later met with reactive condescending remarks. We all wish to stay comfortably and happy in our rooms. After all it is why we pay for them. I will not be staying at this hotel, next time I visit San Clemente.

I literally just came to this hotel for vacation and it was horrible. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE unless you dont mind staying in the most run down hotel in san clemente. It took the manager an hour and thirty minutes just to get our room ready, it was dirty and they have no a/c, which on the site it says they are air conditioned… oh but they were nice enough to throw a fan in there. We immediately asked for a refund, had to argue with the lady and now have to wait 7-10 days for the money to come back while in another state on vacation. The couple behind us also came in and then checked right back out. This place was not worth it at all, to have to deal with all of this after traveling all day was ridiculous! DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Old school motel with character. Comfortable bed. Clean room. I would go back. May not recommend for everyone. Love San Clemente.

I would not waste my money with this establishment. I am absolutely disgusted and extremely disappointed by this establishment. On the 3rd of July and we had booked our hotel on the May 23rd already so they had more than enough advance booking for my family and I. I booked a 2 bedroom as there were 5 of us traveling. I had booked through Agoda website and my booking confirmation and receipt states I had booked a 2 bedroom executive suite. I arrived at the hotel to be told they had booked my room with a single bed (queen) — of course we cannot stay in a 1 bedroom for 5 people. As it's 4th of July weekend they were fully booked and told us there is nothing we can do for you. They tried to blame Agoda for this mistake that they have made… I would assume our 2 bedroom was used for someone else and now my family and I had to find alternative plans on the busiest weekend of the year. I cannot believe the service I received from this establishment. After realizing the mistake they still did not try do anything to help us. The inconvenience that this had caused for my family and I is outrages and absolutely unacceptable. The fact that they did not even try to assist us in anyway shows me what this hotel stands for and how they value it's customers. I will never be visiting this establishment and I urge you not to either.

Awesome beach motel with a breath taking views! Clean and with great staff, it is definitely where I will be staying when I visit Orange County again!

Had a one-night get-away with husband, mother and toddler son. It is a one of a kind hotel: very clean, great rate for a 2-bdr, near the Pier (I took the train down there! ). To our surprise, our door opens unto a well-maintained garden and the bedroom window opens unto a grove of fecund Banyan trees! It was delightful! We cooked wurst, sipped tea, as we took in the mesmerizing aroma of the lush trees. My son was very happy, running in and out and alongside the porch. You have to be someone who can appreciate it to like it.

This hotel is the absolute worst. Our room was not as advertised. We were told no one would come clean the room during our stay and were only provided one toilet paper roll for the duration of our stay. The room was very dirty as were the sheets, bathroom and "kitchen". There was even old food in the small fridge. We asked that someone clean the room and even though we were told this would be done it was not. This was very disappointing as it was not an extraordinary request that was being made. Do not stay here.

The hotel was definitely quaint, but was absolutely enjoyable. There was an issue that we had with the booking process (not their fault) that was handled with care to the best of their abilities. It was a busy weekend, so parking was difficult (ended up parking on the main street on the second night) but all in all, it was enjoyable. Huge tv, semi ocean view, and great staff that care was the reason for 5 stars, but primarily the staff.

The place is quaint and cute. Good place if you're staying in San Clemente and want a good price. The room is fine, with a kitchen. Nothing fancy but it does the job. Hopefully it works in your schedule to check in between 3-9 on the day of your reservation because the office closes at 9… but its just a ma and pa kind of place.

The only reason to give this place a 1, is there is not a lower number. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. The room was small, no a/c, only gave you two towels (had to pay for extra towels), Bathroom was filthy, also did not clean the room and we stayed two nights. They have only 12 parking spots for all the rooms which is woefully inadequate.

When I stayed, my room smelled of the food someone seemed to have left for a week in the microwave and the room appeared un kept… the manager Lucky reminded me of a evil snake type Ben Franklin who was only concerned with taking and not truly giving any quality. Just sayin. He did not care the condition I brought up or the rank food.

We loved it, we went there with another couple so we got the 2 bedrooms suite. The price was great, loved the location and having a microwave and fridge was great. We ended up staying for one week and they were really good in accommodating us.

It's small and cute, not too cramped though. My boyfriend and I arrived around 9:30 pm, as we stated on our reservation that we made online (it was an option) but once we arrived, the man who checked us in was quite rude about how they "closed at 9" and were "not a 24 hour hotel, we're usually asleep at this time". We finally get to our room and found that the heater didn't work, which was hard in the middle of a thunderstorm. The shower had a bunch of hair stuck in the mesh shower drain, the one bar of soap was already opened and well used with the wrapper in the shower, and there was a small cockroach in the shower as well. In addition, there were many places where they advertise all the extra charges they'll put on your account for missing or damaged items. I would mind this as it is informative, however, it was posted 4 different times throughout the very small room. It's hard to get away and enjoy a nice vacation when you're constantly being reminded that one small wrongdoing will result in a bunch of charges; they were very specific too, like the prices of each item in the room were posted and they said that you have to hang up your towel, etc. Finally, the refrigerator smelled dirty and there were old waterbottles left inside. In all, not excited about this hotel and most likely will not return in the future. We were accepting of the situation and very nice about everything, we left the room clean and didn't do much except sleep.

This place was nasty. Roach peices in the bed and the room was so small the 3 of us had a hard time getting around each other. Never again will we stay at this nasty hole in the wall. The staff was nice and all but it would have been even nicer if he gave us a bigger room since we paid the same price and we were only there for 5 hours. Let's just say we spend alot of time traveling and I will sleep. In my car before I EVERYONE stay here again.

Reserved family suite. Was changed to smaller room same charge. On our second night was moved to a small room some of us had to sleep on sofa sleeper was promised family suite for last night owner was moving us again to a room with only one bed the other two would have to sleep on floor bathroom and kitchen only place available. I refused to allow this the owner said to bad don't like it leave. So we left. The Travel Lodge took us in at a great discount. Lucky the manager is great but the owner will boot you out of a room in a heart beat at her discretion. Caution owner does not care about travelers.

I am sad to say the hotel is not run by professionals. Upon my arrival my room was not clean, and I was charged twice for staying one night due to the hotel manager making a mistake. The hotel did not take responsibility and I am settling in a claims case with my bank.

Loved it, it is walk in distance to the beach, suites have living room two TV, one in the bed room and another in the living room. Great full size kitchen with sitting area and nice oven. We had a wedding party so all of us stayed there in different suites, with the great patio in there that we did a nice reception, cooking the foods in the suites and serving it in the very large patio, with a nice barbecue so we could serve nice home made dishes. Great price with an amazing location.

Love the beautiful building, near the beach and all the trendy shops great patio, flat screen and cook the steak in the barbecue after a day of surfing. Lovely.
