Very comfortable bed and pillows. Very convenient — only a few blocks off the 5, but no noise. Great hot breakfast. What set this hotel apart was the front desk staff. Amanda and Guzy were as helpful, personable and friendly as I ever remember at a hotel. Housekeeping seems great, too, as rooms were very clean. Be cautious with parking. Spaces in front are way too close together. I got dings on both sides of my car. GRRR! There is a parking lot in back of the hotel which doesn't get much use. Much better parking option. The management should also consider adding safes in the room. Would definitely stay here again.

This is my favorite place to stay in southern California. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and the value is great. It's always been clean each time I've stayed there.

Great room. Great Rate. I believe all rooms have a balcony. My room was not on the oceanview side but was clean, comfortable and quiet with the the balcony door closed.

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in San Clemente. The rooms were nice and clean, with all the amenities available. Parking was never a problem and the Continental breakfast was more than adequate. We'd stay here again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Great rate for a great room! I was on the 3rd floor and my room had a view of the freeway and big church on a hill across from the freeway. Every room has a balcony I believe. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect at the Holiday Inn Express. Rooms were very clean and quiet even with the interstate so close they must have great window insulation. I'll stay there again. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful!

Good facilities, breakfast is good from my point of view, not so varied but there are nice flavors.
Of the people of the front desk Sarah is excellent, many congratulations! It always makes you feel welcome!

Our room was clean and very comfortable! Pool was heated nicely and stocked! Continental breakfast had a pleasing variety! What stands out, the staff! Everyone was helpful and informative!

Nice little place on top of a hill very isolated. A little hard to find because you literally have to drive through a shopping center and up a small road behind it to go up to the hotel. Rooms where very nice. Especially the pillows.

Room was spacious and clean with microwave, frige and coffee pot. Sliding door to small balcony, although our room had a view of the road it was still nice to step out and get some fresh air. I had a nice time here, thank you.

I've spend many nights at this hotel, prior to the renovations and after. Exceptionally clean and organized. Perfect location just off the freeway but hidden enough to feel secluded. Whenever I am in San Clemente or San Diego, this is the place for me.

I have been coming to this hotel when ever I come down to SC to visit friends & family! Every time I come to this hotel I always feel welcome. Sarah, Amanda and everyone that works here are nice and friendly.

Stopped here for the night from LA to SD Very nice and clean hotel. Great staff. Pool. Loved the breakfast they had so many things to eat and it was all warm.

My family and I had a great stay here. This property itself was clean and we'll kept. The entire. Staff was friendly and helpful and I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel/grounds looked. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.

A Pleasant Stay. Real Private. I have stayed in many places in this area and the Holiday Inn is actually very cool. Their breakfast is better than all the others in the area.

Amazing service and clean rooms. They offer free breakfast and do not charge for Wi-Fi or parking. I do recommend to stay on the 3rd floor. Hotel is just a few blocks away from the beach and the Outlets for shopping.

Loved the location and the rooms were clean and comfortable! And the pool was a nice bonus.

The place is amazing and different I love the old Spanish style look but with a very up to beat look. The rooms are very big with everything at your finger tips. It even has a tablet that works with the internet and room service connected. The parking has so much space front and back. In the end the 2 days were spent with good clean sleep. And I would do it again Muah.

Nice rooms, small pool, great free breakfast. Hotel is located up in a small hill, so for some people would be a little difficult to walk up froms the shops around the neighbour.

Tesh and Sarah at the front desk are awesome! They are kind and professional. Pool is clean and warm. Rooms very clean.

The location is a little difficult to find but the rooms are nice and the lobby and event rooms are well kept.

LOCATION IS TERRIBLE, got a view of a 99 cent store in a random commercial plaza. Rooms were meh, far away from all the shops and dining in downtown, just a crappy option for all the other amazing hotels in the area. Breakfast sucks.

This is an excellent hotel In San Clemente, CA. Sarah, the receptionist, is superb. Very cheerful, friendly, and hard working. She made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast is excellent and the variety is great. Very nice egg white omelets. They even have a pancake making machine which guests can use.

This Holiday Inn Express in San Clemente was great. Good out of the way location. Generally clean. It had good continental breakfast options that were included in the room rate. Parking was ample. I had an issue with the initial room assigned to us but they were quick to move us to another. Only disappointment was they couldn't move me to the same type of room so the kids had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed. The Wi-Fi was very slow and comments from the staff indicated this is not that unusual. I will definitely return.

I made a reservation, they sold out of the room type I had reserved and put three people in the only room available, a king bed. One of the party graciously slept in the chair/ottoman combo. The breakfast buffet was okay. Just a 'meh" experience from start to finish.

Nice clean hotel with all the amenities you'd expect and more. A very good value for the price. Hotel is in an odd location but we found it. I will definitely stay here again!

A really good hotel for the price. Well maintained and nice rooms, friendly staff. As of May 2017 the lobby is being redone, and rooms will be redone in 2018, but they don't really need it. Beds are very comfortable. Just watch out because most king rooms are on the side that face the freeway, which can be noisy.

Quiet and secluded. Their staff has always been more than accommodating to any requests I have had and most importantly are always very courteous. The rooms all have private patios and have always been meticulously clean inside and out. I love this hidden gem not only for the relaxing atmosphere but also the free breakfast and awesome staff! From the front desk to the housekeeping the environment is inviting for sure making this my home away from home.

I stayed here in October 2015 and took advantage of my IHG Employee Rate. I can not say enough NICE things about this Property. I stayed in Room 122. The young Lady that checked me in was very courteous, specific and detailed. She explained all the amenities and said if there was anything else I needed please do not hesitate to call her from my room. The Employees seemed very energetic and upbeat. I give this Property a thumbs up and 10 star rating. The only negative is I can't get a room in August but I will always stay here.

Couldn't be more pleased with our experience. We got to the hotel and tried to check in but TripAdvisor hadn't sent over the information yet of our reservation. Mitch was extremely helpful, informative and friendly. He helped us getting checked in, gave us a great room and encouraged us to come to him with anything else we might need. Excellent service, Mitch! Thank you!

Can't say enough good things about this place! Especially want to thank Mitch for rescuing us from Expedia's Shirley dropped the ball when a pipe busted in our first hotel. They were supposed to have contacted us while we were on the way and they did not. But Holiday Inn and Mitch came to the rescue. People are great and rooms are great. We will definitely stay here next time we come out! They are in our book!

The location of the front entrance to it was a bit weird, as you have to go to the top of a simi-steep hill, and turn right. The street on the hill is a tad narrow for 2 cars to drive, but the hotel was relatively clean and fancy.

I've dropped several guests off at this hotel to stay. The rooms seem nice and it's an affordable value.

Rooms were clean and updated; staff was very friendly and helpful. Eddy in particular took care of an unpleasant situation with courtesy and professionalism.

NOISY! Even with hearing loss I can hear everything in the hallways, everything above, and the freeway. Parking lot spaces are tiny and dark. Good luck.

L9cated close to the freeway and downtown San Clemente. Rooms are clean. Front desk service is very friendly. Continental breakfast was actually pretty decent. Eggs, sausage, pancakes and all the usual stuff. There was no hassle for late check out. Recommended.

Everything was excellent. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay a most awesome experience. I was thrilled with the helpfulness of the front desk on multiple occasions and found Eddy extremely friendly and willing to assist me will all my needs. The staff was exceptional making my stay exceptional!
