Newer hotel doesn’t always equate to a better stay. Safety issues. High pet fees for stay that was less than 14hrs. No crib available. And room lamp (on bed side closest to door) not working. I stay on the first floor and the door looked like someone had attempted to pry the door open (although I do not know for sure). – see photos. During the evening, I heard sounds sounding like someone was jiggle the handle, which I said ‘we are in there’ and then the sounds stopped. As for the pet fee, it was steep at $75 for a stay that was less than 14hrs and I was charged an occupancy tax for the pets! I understand that pet fees are not assessed by the hour, however, pet fees should be commensurate with the amount of work/effort to clean up after the fee. Overall nice, hotel but safety issue, high pet fees, no crib and lamp not working. While I am a World of Hyatt member and I would not recommend staying at the Hyatt — Bakersfield. My stay was on 11/27/2022. Rm 110.2 out of 5 stars.
