Perfect place to stay, excellent location in beautiful, historic mansion. Most gracious host and delicious breakfast.

I had a wonderful experience staying in the Power room. Lovely space to relax and feel at home. I even took a lavender bubble bath in the in-suite claw foot tub! Alfred made me feel very welcome and was the perfect host. We had a fantastic breakfast together, I will be back.

Reasonably priced, quaint charming rooms each with a different theme, close to downtown, friendly inn keeper who lives on the premises who is also a chef, and makes a breakfast fit for a king!

Spent a wonderfully decadent weekend here where it looked like it would be haunted but instead made us feel warm & welcomed. Thanks to Alfred & Adam for the friendly service, soft fluffy towels and amazing breakfasts!

This was a little piece of heaven in Auburn. Alfred was a wonderful host, breakfast was delicious, and the location was prime. We can’t wait to come back and bring our parents! Highly recommend.

Best customer service ever. You feel right at home. Right from the second you walk in. I brought my 5 year old, mom and grandma. We enjoyed our beautiful stay, breakfast was amazing and relaxing. Definitely staying here again when we pass through.

My husband I just stayed here and I wasn't overly impressed. I was hoping for a romantic get away in a charming atmosphere. First off this is not in a country atmosphere. The city, asphalt, chain link fences and buildings are right up against mansion. There is no real grass but fake turf. The sign for entering lead us right into the kitchen. There was a strange combination of decor. Asian mixed with antique victorian style, didn't seem natural for the type of home. I felt the place was dusty and needed cleaning. The spring room was very tiny and there was nothing to do on the property. No swimming pool, no pool table as in the pictures. Magazines were years old, and food was served cold. Somebody else already talked about all the repairs needed, I agree many need to be done. We made the best of it and the owner was really nice.

Interesting place to stay with so much history. We stayed in the Irish room. It was okay. The bathtub is up on a platform with some steep stairs so careful. Breakfast is amazing.

Charming Victorian mansion, great host/ owner very personable. Great High Victorian Tea option. Breakfast included with price of room. Spent 24 hrs. Felt like a week of relaxation. If you like 19th Century style, Power's Mansion Inn is the place to stay.

The place is cute with close parking. They only serve late breakfast so know that. Wife wanted to take hot bath and water wasnt to hot even when cold was turned off. If you stay here make sure you were long Johns or something warm because there is no heater in the room. We woke up to a 47° room at 5am.

My husband and I needed a place to stay last minute and this ended up being the perfect place! Alfred was very kind and made a delicious breakfast in the morning for everyone. It was walking distance to many restaurants.

Alfred, the master of the place is in good care for his guests and does everything to make them feel at home.
It's always nice to sleep in a historic house and even more if you are extremely well received.
We recommend the Power's mansion if you do step in Auburn.

Great place to getaway! A very unique, peaceful, and beautiful B&B. Very relaxing place to stay. Walking distance from all the restaurants and shops. Alfred is super friendly and welcoming. His breakfast is delicious.

This place is a fantastic getaway place. The staff is so friendly, breakfast was delicious, it’s cozy—warm—inviting. I cannot wait to go back for their high tea brunch.

Albert was very courteous and very hospitable, his meals were top notch also. We were married there 25 years ago, we stayed for 25th anniversary again, it was wonderful as the day we were married, even better.

This place is awesome not your typical place to stay but the greatest place to be! Our stay was wonderful the owner is awesome! Food was delicious and the feeling of being home was great. My husband surprised me for my birthday and took me to the Power's Mansion Inn. It's a quaint Victorian house that is full of history. It is unique to bed and breakfasts since each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The house decor boast the era in which it was built and is very comfortable and clean. Alfred (the owner) is an amazing Man with quite a history of his own. He's a great cook and conversationalist and a very gracious host. He knows the history of the house and loves to transfer that knowledge to his guests. My husband and I were going to Auburn to visit family and this was a spur of the moment decision. Alfred was very accommodating and help my husband pick the perfect room. I'm looking forward to staying there again in the near future.

Power's Mansion proved to be an unexpected gem! We have long used Auburn as a jumping off point to weekends in Tahoe, always staying in a generic hotel chain. No longer. We will be visiting Power's for charm, comfort, delicious breakfast, and great value. Thank you Alfred!

My husband and I got married at the powers mansion may of 2016. We booked all rooms of the mansion, they were very accommodating to each room being booked over time by different guests of our wedding. Breakfast both mornings for a full house! It was good! Day of our wedding went very smooth! We never had to worry about anything! Dinner was so good! We also had a open bar with bartenders who dealt with a very large drinking party! I would recommend this place to anybody for a wedding. One thing is, I would bring an extra coordinator for the day of!

Owners were nice and the place has history. Breakfast is decent. The problem with the hotel is it is OLD and run down. Paint and wall paper peeling, stains, worn out furniture just to name a few. The room we stayed in was very strange. The shower and bathtub were located in a closet that didn't have any doors. Super awkward. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this stuff but it's just not my style. What can you expect though, it's Auburn, CA…

This was the best Bed and Breakfast I ever had the pleasure to stay in and I have full intentions to stay again when I travel to Auburn, CA. This old mansion, once a private home, has a very interesting history and you can read the many articles about the home and the original owner that are framed and hung on the walls. The most interesting part of our stay was the current Inn Keeper. He has so many captivating stories to tell about his life and how he came to own the mansion. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fantastic breakfast we were served in a beautiful dining room resplendent with a blazing file in the hearth.
