We came for a night as a surprise for my husband's birthday. 4 friends had lunch with us then we enjoyed an afternoon of croquet, paddle tennis and lounging by the pool. Everything was wonderful. Thank you Arizona Inn staff and management for another memorable time!

We really enjoyed being upgraded upon check-in. We loved the oversized super comfortable sleigh bed and decor of the room and grounds. The best part was the star-gazing on the loungers in our private patio, listening to the resident owls at the end of the evening. We enjoyed the meals at the restaurant. We will definently be back again.

It is quite the compound. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Definitely a step back in time. The service is solid. The food and beverages are good. So close to UofA. Easy free parking. A lovely pool, though it could be kept a little more cool in the summer. Definitely a low key place. Would be very cozy in the winter. Gorgeous gardens and buildings. A unique experience.

This historical hotel is worth the stop. We spent one night and enjoyed dinner on the premises. The chefs tasting with wine pairing was exceptional, the grounds are well kept with the perfect blend of southwestern and old world! If an old world experience is thrilling to you this is a must see. Outstanding in every way!

I have been at this place but as a photographer. Every time I go here they treat me as a guest. Place is amazing, the food is excellent, service is awesome. Everything about this place is very nice… :)

What an amazing stay! We checked in late and although Anthony was almost finished his shift he graciously escorted us around the property even showing us where our friends room was located. The rooms are nicely laid out. We stayed in the Patio King which was perfect for entertaining. The beds are incredibly comfortable! The bar made for an awesome end to a great day. The bartender was super nice and attentive. Breakfast was great the next morning, but a little slow. Ryan at the front desk granted us a late check out of 3PM which is amazing. I work in the resort industry and know how difficult that can be! It helped to off set the late arrival the night before. We were able to relax at the pool before taking the long drive home. 100% will recommend and hope to be back soon!

Our second stay at the Inn but I forgot to rate last time. This time was just as good. The room was perfect, the decor is amazing. We so enjoyed our reading time in the library area and walking around the beautifully maintained gardens and watching the birds enjoy them too. Each meal we had was also great and the staff were very attentive to us each time. We will certainly be back.

Stayed here with my family yesterday. Thin walls. Old. Dirty. Waaaaaay overpriced. No one under 50. AC not working very well in room. Front desk staff unsympathetic to issues. Do not recommend. I think the only people who give this place 5 stars are the old crusties of Tucson who don't know any better. Pool was nice though.

Arizona Inn is a local favorite for weekend stay-cations and afternoon happy hours. The bar is open to all (guests or not) and has a great selection of drinks and lite snacks. I have stayed here several times for weekend getaways, but have also come to Arizona Inn for bridal showers and wedding receptions. It is in one of the best spots in town, centrally located in the beautiful Sam Hughes neighborhood and within walking distance to the University. There are several restaurants and dining opportunities nearby, and outdoor adventures and hiking trails are only a 20 minute drive away.

Staff as always are wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and this is a very nice place to spend an evening. The chef does a wonderful job with the food good every year we go.

We went for an anniversary dinner and the experience was disappointing. Our waitress was great but something was wrong in the kitchen. We had some appetizers and then waited close to an hour for our entrees to come out. My husband ordered the duck which was very good. I had the beef bourguignon which would have been great if it hadn’t been so salty. A manager delivered the entrees and apologized for the long wait. We then wanted to order desert and were given menus but waited another 30 minutes until the waitress returned. We decided we didn’t want to sit and wait any longer so asked for our check and left.

Quaint, cozy setting. Gorgeous detail and a nice quiet environment. Coffee was good, yogurt and fruit was very good. Loved it.

Went for lunch with a group of women. It was so overpriced. A supposed chicken salad salad was $18. There might have been on tiny scoop of the worst chicken salad I have ever tasted. The rest was fruit but not the fruit listed on menu. So basically I wasted money because I couldn't eat it.

We are Phoenix residents but like to visit Tucson each spring to enjoy the amenities at the Arizona Inn. This is a favorite spot for us, very welcoming and not at all snooty. The rooms are large, and have private outdoor seating areas, at least the ones we have stayed in did. They were furnished with classic dressers, tables and a sofa. There is a modern TV with a built-in DVD player and the hotel can supply DVDs of classic movies starring the actors and actresses who have stayed in the inn. The bathrooms have vintage tile floors and walls but the fixtures are up to date. The pool is very inviting with an attendant at the ready to offer you ice water, food or drink. There are two clay surface tennis courts that are very well maintained, also badminton and ping pong. The main dining room has an old-time feel to it, but the food is excellent and the servers are attentive. Reservations are usually required for the main dining room but the adjacent bar and patio serves the same food and you don't need reservations there. On warm spring mornings the patio is a delightful spot for breakfast.

Cannot believe I've never been here, it is such a cool atmosphere and I would love to actually stay here. Dinner was absolutely great!

Pricey, but very nice. Food was fantastic, service was polite. Only complaint is there was a small bug in my whisky, when I mentioned it they replaced it my glass. Unfortunately the new glass had less whisky in it than the glass they took.

We stayed here while we were visiting for a wedding and we loved it. They even had a social hall with comfy couches, music, and an all you can eat ice cream buffet! It was like my childhood dream had come true. They also gave awesome service at the bar and would periodically ask if we'd like more to drink, if we needed anything, etc. Loved it!

Good breakfast options. Prompt, friendly service on the Audubon Bar patio. Try the homemade marmalade with your toast — delicious. All-in-all, a great way to enjoy a sunny Tucson morning!

Well-maintained old hotel with casitas-style rooms, most with patio or balcony. Excellent staff, great pool, excellent food, beautiful grounds and gardens. Nice perks like complimentary ice cream in summer, movies, newspaper, library. In quiet residential neighborhood, but close to major streets and the U of A.

Food was delicious, although the ahi tuna appetizer was disjointed in its sauce, I had to request a ginger soy sauce. Vinegar salt fries was great. Drink were good. Service was very slow.

After going to the Arizona Inn for years, the management has decided that you have to be a hotel guest to eat at the pool area. This is OK, but they have a simple sign "pool is for guests only". Imagine being asked to leave by a waitress, just doing her job. When I discussed with the front desk manager, she was useless. The front desk staff were all laughing. So let's see, I've spent over $25, 000 at the Arizona Inn over the years. They have seen the last of me. None of the organization meetings I lead will ever use them again. All of the business functions will go elsewhere. None of the personal celebrations will ever be there again.

My friends' parents honeymooned here in the 1940s. They had their 40th anniversary here. Their daughter was married here. The family celebrates here multiple times a year. Last week was an anniversary dinner. This week, they requested to have a picture taken while the family is having an a huge family celebration. They were denied by the AZ Inn as they do not have a room booked. Here's the family reaction: "Deeply disappointed that the Arizona Inn will not give permission for us to have a family photo taken on their grounds after our large group had planned to lunch there Friday. We have held dozens of large and small family events there for almost 40 years but they won’t budge from policy that you must book a room or schedule an event before any photo can be taken on premises. We will be looking for a new venue for future gatherings… " I will never visit our recommend this venue again.

Someone I trust told me I should stay here if I was ever in Tucson. I was. I did. Here's the deal… if you're a great brand, you've clearly figured out how to provide an exceptional brand experience for your customer. More importantly, if things do not go as expected with a customer, you determine a quick and reasonable response and/or action to address any issue experienced by a customer. My issue? I arrived at the Arizona Inn very late — around midnight. I was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. My room smelled so heavily of cleaning products that after a short time of being there I got a terrible headache and had to open the windows to get some fresh air in the room. My sleep was extremely poor because of the odor despite the windows being open. At 7:00 a. M. The next morning, I was awoken by my neighbor on his patio below smoking cigarettes and arguing with his significant other over the phone. I closed the windows, but could still clearly hear the very loud gentlemen cursing away in anger. So, I got up, showered and left. Now, when I informed the front desk about my experience, I received a very warm apology. I even got a voice message from someone at the hotel the next day with another apology. However, that doesn’t alter the reality that I paid $226 for a lousy night’s sleep with a wakeup call in the form of cigarette smoke and an extremely loud and angry gentleman cursing away at his significant other; and the response from the Arizona Inn was, “sorry.

Arizona Inn is a wonderful place to have a perfect morning breakfast and perhaps a special dinner. So beautiful and classic Arizona Sonora hospitality.

Great place for a special dinner! Meal prices are somewhat expensive but AZ Inn has an extremely nice environment, ambience and excellent food. Staff extremely professional.

It is absolutely wonderful I always enjoy it every time I'm their food is great Services wonderful grounds and buildings are gorgeous. Everything is immaculately kept up and always looks fantastic! My husband and I stayed there for an anniversary 1 year and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I've been going to Arizona Inn now for over a year on a regular basis for drink nights. The service and drinks are always great, and the atmosphere with live piano music is really what makes this place stand out. Highly recommended!

I wasn't very impressed at lunch. I ordered a chicken salad salad and the fruit they said was on the plate was not as on the menu and there was one tiny scoop of chicken salad which was awful. And also how can you charge $17 for that? I normally would have wine at lunch but the prices were ridiculous. Ambience its just a old place. The service was good though.

Loved staying at this historic resort hotel. The grounds were meticulously kept and beautiful. The room was large and clean. We had an outside patio to lounge around but we hung out at the pool instead. Large, relaxing pool with plenty of lounge chairs. Good service by the pool. Not many kids here so it's quiet and relaxing. Definitely will stay here again.

Service is top notch, the food is wonderful. Very quiet. Bed turned down at night. They have a collection of movies from the 30s up to the 50s that feature the movie stars who have stayed at the Inn. Complimentary coffee and newspapers in their library. The grounds are beautiful. Great place to get away from it all.

Very nice rooms located about 14 miles from where you park your car. Plan for an afternoon enjoying your walk to your large and comfortable room. They treat you right here, though, finds of small touches, for the price you can't beat this place, wow. A tad bit snooty though. Also incredibly private, we never saw a single other guest in three days and it was apparently completely booked.

I went for professional event. The food was like this, and the classroom needs renovation.

Wonderful historic Inn, comfortable, quaint, quiet, and private. I laughed hard at anyone describing it as "dated" — that's kind of like describing the Sistine Chapel as "dated". The Inn is intentionally old fashioned because it caters to people who avoid the slick, new sameness of most hotels and motels.

Very quaint lodge like setting. Nice for tapas and small plates. Good service.

It was a nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and the service was good. The only downside was some local animals making noises at 3:00am keeping us awake all night.

Dinner group consisted of 7 people, dinner entrees were great, came out at the same time, perfect in all regard. However not a big fan the wedge salad. Awesome charm though, and totally going back.

Wish I had stayed here sooner! Such a charming place with so much history. The wait staff is superb and always friendly; from the doorman to the cleaning staff. Everybody has a smile. Each room is like a little hacienda; very different from the rooms on top of rooms that you find at most resorts. This place is perfect for privacy. Each room feels so secluded and it feels like you have the place all to yourself. Perfect for a romantic escape. Wonderful expereince.

I hate to write this review because I love the Arizona Inn. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is lovely. I've been to the Arizona Inn's restaurant a handful of times now. Every time I've had something really delicious and something really sub-par. The brussel sprouts are amazing! The cog au vin has a brown gravy that I swear tastes like it's from a powdered packet. Last night we had our Valentine's dinner there. Decided to do the tasting menu for $75 each. It all seemed like it was made a few days before. The ONLY good part of our meal was the steak and it was cooked perfectly. The risotto was covered in a creamy sauce that is straight out of a nursing home. The dessert was from a pastry shop that made the "small bites" last week. Stale and hard. $240 (including tip) later, what we really ate was a meal worth $100 plus tip. Major disappointment. I would have complained but I didn't want to ruin my Valentine's Day. Do yourself a favor and stick with the appetizer's and drinks.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, the inn has a ton of charm and character, spacious and clean rooms, and the grounds are beautiful and walkable. I would stay here in a heartbeat over a boring chain, high-rise hotel, bravo.

The rooms could use an update, especially the bathrooms, but there is a certain '50s Spanish bungalow charm about them. The property, however, is stunning. Rolling green lawns, manicured gardens, lots of open space. An oasis in the desert, tucked into the middle of a residential area. The restaurant and bar are fantastic, too. Friendly bartender, good drinks, delicious and creative cuisine. You still need a car in Tucson, but this is one of the only high-end properties near the city center.

I have had lunch and brunch here, once each. The service is excellent and the food is very good! There is an old world feel to the decorating and service style. A great place to take visitors for a special time out.

Several of us had the tasting menu and agreed it was okay but quite ordinary. Perhaps we hit an off night. The atmosphere, though nice, did not compensate for the food.
