Jay R. Patel, I apologize for implying there was a theft at your hotel. It is not a proven fact. I reacted emotionally based on the sentimental value to the owner of the ring and that is not an excuse.

What a shoddy place. Arrived on a Saturday night only to be told by a super surly manager that they had “overbooked the hotel” and had no room for us. Completely unapologetic they left us stranded as every other hotel in the vicinity was completely booked by that time. Terrible business practices and not a good look for IHG.

Great hotel I would definitely stay again some of the best staff I've come across in all of my stays definitely give them five stars.

I booked a room at 8am to stay overnight to be able to work at UAB the next day because of the ice storm. They called me at 5pm and told me they were calling me IN ADVANCE… 2 hours AFTER my check-in time, to let me know they had overbooked and did not have a room for me to stay in. They apparently did this to myself and 15 other healthcare workers. Do NOT stay here. The manager I spoke with was more than rude. This place is a joke. I would much rather sleep in the call room than to give my money to these disrespectful people!

You can’t set the heat in the room, it’s controlled by the front desk and they don’t seem to know how to set it. It’s 37 degrees outside and there’s no heat.
Also, they charged me twice for the same room. Stay elsewhere.

Maybe they won’t delete my post this time. Really bad experience. Pet friendly without a safe place to take your pets out is dangerous. Homeless community at the only grass patch a few blocks away. Bathroom barn door fell on me and all they said was maintenance was gone for the day. You can pack up two dogs, crates, wheelchair, handicapped husband and all your clothes and change rooms late at night when leaving in the morning, or just deal with it. We informed them door was too heavy for me to move and needed immediate attention. He did come up and the two of us got it secure for the night. However, a simple I am so sorry, what can we do to make this right, would’ve been appropriate. Extremely heavy door hurts when it falls. Next we had three unopened handles of liquor we were taking home taken from our room. Took us days to finally get an unacceptable response. They said it was up to housekeeping whether they turn in items from the rooms. I can see opened used items being thrown away, but new untouched secured bottles should not be taken. Obviously, you need to secure all valuables at the hotel. So if you are planning on staying here, be warned it is not safe and there is a theft issue. I will continue to post on your site, so quit deleting.

Our car was stolen while valet parked at the Indigo Hotel. The parking company is blaming the hotel, the hotel is blaming the parking company, and we are left holding the bag, renting a car to get home, and hiring an attorney. Unbelievable.

The hotel itself is lovely, but financially dealing with them has been a nightmare. They keep making random unauthorized holds on my account a week after I’ve stayed here (over $150 so far in holds) and not being helpful in releasing money that doesn’t belong to them. (I paid for my room in full when I booked it through hotels. Com)

This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve been in in a long while.

It would be better if the air conditioner worked. It’s over 70 degrees in here and I can’t sleep. I have it set on 62. You would think a fancy hotel would have he air conditioner working properly.

Beautiful hotel & amazing staff! DJ was so helpful & friendly. He greeted us at valet, offered help immediately, & helped us up to our room. Shy went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, all with a smile! Plenty of food options within walking distance. Highly recommend.

Great location. Our suite was really nice. Valet parking was not that expensive and the service, like the front desk, was superior. Our only negative was the restaurant/bar and the waitress/bartender. She seemed like she was not really wanting to be there. Gave a “last call” at 9:30, when front desk and menu said bar was open till 11. When asked about this she said it was “ lack of volume” but at that time restaurant/bar was almost full. Maybe she was just having a bad day. At any rate, again this is a great location near many great restaurants and bars, all in walking distance.

Very nice hotel professional staff you gotta love it.

If you all are ever looking for a hotel downtown Birmingham I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Indigo! The ENTIRE staff was nothing but polite the entire time and the room was very nice and comfortable. I will return here time and time again.

I would not recommended staying here other then the guy who checked me in & one of the door guys everyone was rude. Definitely not 4 star service. The room did not feel clean the bathroom had hair on the floor and “curly” hair in the shower. Shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The bar tender was beyond rude I still left 20% tip but I wanted to leave nothing. The door guy today was rude & unwelcoming as well. I will say the door guy when I checked was actually very sweet & friendly. I called to see about a late check out today and she was very rude and non friendly also. They did extend my check out by 30 minutes just was very rude about it. Other then the two when I checked in everyone was horrible. Rooms are small also. Go to the Hilton Down the street you’ll get better service for your money. I paid to be treated like crap & made to feel like doing there job was a nuisance!

Checked in after a long day at Children’s of Alabama with my daughter, and the staff were super kind to this tired Momma. The rooms are amazing, and super clean.

The air was broken in our first room. We asked for it to be looked at around 11am. Got back to the room at 5pm and it’s still hot. Call the front desk and no one knows anything about it being looked at, so they are going to send someone up. Their maintenance person is also their bellman and valet person. (Although he probably gave the best customer service of anyone) He comes up and confirms the air is broken, so they switch our room, which had all this been done when we asked at 11, no issue, however we are now needing to get ready for the event we are in town for. They upgraded us to a suite, which seemed awesome until we realized the windows have zero sound control. ZERO — from the bumping club until 2am to people talking on the street below from a 5th floor room. The hotel is clean and in a great location but absolutely NOT worth your money!

I loved my stay at Hotel Indigo! The rooms were super cozy, spacious, and had beautiful modern decor. I stayed in the two-bedroom suite and I was nothing less of impressed. It was the perfect room for celebrating my birthday in style. I will be back! The only recommendation I would have would be to improve the access to parking. I had difficulty leaving the garage because the change machine refused to accept my dollars even though they were crisp. Other than that, the hotel is beautiful and easily accessible to the many amenities Five Points South offers.
