This hotel is one of a kind for many reasons. It is strikingly beautiful. It’s modeled after Thai Temple architecture. There is nothing else like it. It is literally in the beach. The two bedroom suites exterior walls border Lamei beach. It is a lovely beach to swim in and there are plenty of good beach restaurants nearby. Besides each villa having its own pool, it also has its own kitchen. We looked and couldn’t find any other places on the beach that had kitchens in the rooms. The rooms themselves are spectacular. The mattress is one of the best I’ve ever slept in. The shower mimics an outdoor shower. It’s such a joy. Plus the jacuzzi in the room! Perhaps the best part is the staff running the hotel. They are so kind and attentive. They are always very quick to respond, but also friendly and genuine. The pictures online are spectacular but in person it’s even better. It’s definitely the best place to stay in Samui.

There is only one word for this place, BEAUTIFUL. The staff are amazing. The rooms are stunning. Basically a self contained flat, with all the luxuries of home, plus more. Small pool on our veranda. The beach right in front of the hotel. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We can not begin to Express how amazing this place was. Everyone treats you as if you are family. Very accommodating staff and breathtaking grounds. A little slice of paradise. We highly recommend Ammatara Pura Pool Villa if you are staying in Koh Samui. Lastly, you are also centrally located to many restaurants and shops.

Very pleasant beach and pool resort in the middle of busy Lamai. We liked the layout and right size very much. Staff is sldo great and helpful. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to Steve and his crew. It was a plessure to stay here. It was great with the seaview and the private pool next to the beach. An Oasis of calm. Very friendly people, nothing was missing. Everyone was so gracious, polite and accommodating. We will come again.

Definitely one of the beat hotels I have stayed in. Everything was perfect. The location was best. Oh my god the design and architecture of the hotel was mind boggling. So much perfection even to the tiniest of deteils. I felt as if I was walking into a different era. Too beautiful to describe. The room was so big. So clean. Service was perfect. Only downside was the breakfast choices. This hotel is so underated. My score is 10/10. For sure a must stay.

Loved everything about the place but the staff of this resort is the icing on the cake. Will definitely recommend this resort.

A very very nice luxury hotel with a beautiful swimming pool.

Ammatara is very spacious and with many facilities and utilities within our ocean view and private pool suite, I found our residential manager is very helpful and I especially adore the tuk tuk service that helps us get to city center and Tesco market free of charge (the taxi service fee here fluctuate hourly). However, I wished their restaurant stuff could be a bit more friendly when it comes to the dining experience for their gusts at any age bracket, we were with our son (3 years old) during this trip. While we were having our breakfast, it seemed the staff at Ammatara weren't able to understand why it took more time for my son (or any children at that age) to finish his meal, the staff seem a bit annoyed by it.

This is a magnificent place to stay if you like peace, serenity and the feeling you are absorbing yourself in Thai culture. Although close to the bustling centre of Lamai it is an Oasis of calm. On a decent beach and with all the facilities you could wish for, I can highly recommend this hotel.

Great resort… thou expensive … ambience full marks… coutesy full marks… location full marks… get some more activities on and some healthy menus.

I stayed in a garden view villa. What can I say, from the moment I entered the compound it felt like I had entered paradise. The atmosphere was amazing. The villa itself was massive, especially since I went there alone. The beach had white sand and the water was clean and very warm. The pool inside the villa was kept very clean. Only two things that I didn't like: 1. Loads of bugs everywhere, but I think this is normal in this island. 2. The breakfast buffet choice was very limited. But saying that, my stay was amazing and I'd definitely go back again.

Just popped to have a few drinks and at the pool. Beautiful setting and had a fabulous time. Staff were really friendly and I got a few good pics.

We had an initial problem with some bad smells drifting up to our terrace, we were quickly offered an alternative villa which was of a very high standard with no additional cost to ourselves.

Hiding here from the sun, the territory dicontinued well-groomed, the staff smiles and worships the head. Liked!

A beautiful hotel! We had a great time! Everything from location, rooms to the amazing staff was flawless.

For sure one of the best resorts on the whole Island. Villas are super spacious with your own pool with jacuzzi, you also get a huge bathtub with a jacuzzi and the shower is on the outside with charming lights. The pools, food and the beach are perfect! You feel really comfortable and isolated from other guests even when theyre fully booked. Lamai beach bars and restaurants are really close. Staff is vert friendly and smiling all the time.
