A really clean and well laid out resort, and the gardens are very well laid out too. The rooms are fantastic & very spacious and very comfortable, probably the best sleep I've had in an hotel.
The spa was wonderful, my wife had a 2 hour oil massage & body scrub and she said it was the best ever.
The only down side was the very narrow lanes to drive uphill to the resort, I would imagine a nightmare in the summer months, and limited parking at the actual resort.
I'd rate it 9/10

Beautiful resort with stunning views. We got upgraded and the room we had was huge and had a nice big balcony with an incredible ocean view. From what we could see at the resort most rooms which would claim to be ocean facing would have a relatively unobstructed view of the sea. The restaurant and infinity pool also offer breathtaking, unimpeded views of the beautiful bays below.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, we got a walkthrough of our room when we arrived and were made to feel like we were the most important people there.
The food and drinks were excellent, including a free breakfast, with a good mix of local and more western cuisine. The only mild downside would be the location, the resort is on a steep hill, so it is a bit of a workout getting from the restaurant/pool area to one of the rooms lower on the hill. The location also means that you can't really leave the hotel in foot. However, the hotel does counter this by running a number of complimentary taxis to and from two popular tourist areas, Fisherman’s Village & Chaweng. If you’re okay with a light workout to get to breakfast, and don’t mind possibly having to spend a few bhat on a taxi I can’t recommend Mantra highly enough, the service, the dining, and of course the views make this a great resort.

Highly recommend, lovely infinity pool with breathtaking views of the island. Luxurious rooms, comfortable with balcony views. Fresh & breezy, as the hotel is situated on a hill. The restaurant staff & golf-cart drivers were friendly & polite. A special mention goes out to the lovely Saw in the restaurant. Great family hotel in Koh Samui. Delicious breakfast selection too.

The view is amazing especially from the pool side. The rooms are huge, the staff is more than friendly. Everything is amazing, we really enjoy our stay.

Beautiful location up a hillside giving incredible views across the north of the island. Isolated due to its location, but free buses leave for the main tourist areas every 2 hours. The suites have been recently renovated, they are big and done to a high standard, but the better views are in the main complex which are still in need of updating. The beds have spring mattresses with a feather topper. They are rather hard and not very comfy. The breakfast is ok but not a huge selection. We had a complaint on the first day which was resolved quickly and efficiently, although it would have been better not to have to complain about anything. The infinity pool boasts amazing views, but is filled with salt water. There are pluses and minuses here. The views are amazing but the hotel needs some more love and attention to give it that five star feel.

We had an awesome holiday. Loved every bit of it! The staff, room, pool and food was amazing. We wished we could've stayed longer. Will definitely recommend your resort to others. Thanks so much for everything.

This hotel was much better than we expected. The room was massive and very clean. We got the sea view room and the view was simply breathtaking. Waking up to this every day was incredible. The infinity pool was beautiful! I didn't want to get out of it, the view was so so beautiful. Its on a steep hill, however there are quite a few cars available to take you to your room, we were using them all the time. The staff was excellent and did their best to accommodate our every need. Overall we had a great stay and I would definitely stay there again when back to Samui.

A beautiful place to escape, relax and unwind. The views from our room were breath taking. Everything was very clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is up several pretty steep hills and within the resort itself you can access your room via golf buggy! A novelty we really enjoyed! there is a regular shuttle service from the resort to fisherman's village. We used the service a few times during our stay but also rented a scooter from the hotel and explored the island ourselves. We'd definitely recommend this! We loved it! If you don't fancy the scooters, taxi fares are very reasonable.

Fabulous resort tucked away from all the hussle and bussle. I'd recommend this place for a quiet relaxing escape. Wonderful facilities and staff. Great view. No complaints from me!

Great hotel. We spent a week at this resort in April and loved every minute. The views are on another level, the staff are great and the facilities are brilliant. It’s a short drive from the Fisherman’s Village and Chewang but the free shuttle bus that the resort offers allows you reach these. Would highly recommend.

Excellent bang for the buck. This gorgeously renovated small scale resort is neatly tucked away in a quiet mountain corner beyond the touristy mess of Bhoput fisherman's village. The rooms are super spacious, each with their own patio, providing the privacy so hard to find in many other resorts. Most rooms seem to be facing the sea, so great views in the morning guaranteed. Breakfast is pretty decent, staff very friendly and the cocktail bar by the infinity pool is the place to be. Definitely returning.

Very high end for the price, need transportation to get to and from, the infinity pool and the views are one of a kind for the island. If you like quiet and calm stay with a great pool and want to be way from Chaweng this is the spot. It's close to the Fisherman village that has plenty of shops and shopping. Great for a couple the wants to just relax.

5star service no doubt. From the room we could see the ocean. A awesome view. The breakfast with so many choices that you will want to try everithing. Bit far from the center and the beach, but they have shuttles every hour to leave you and to pick you. Definitely a hotel to come back e recomendable.

Beautiful hotel with sea view. Honestly, considering the hotels on the beach in Koh Samui which are not very interesting, it is better to book one in the heights. Of course you will have to rent a scooter or a car. The hotel of course makes these services available for a very affordable price. Breakfast is varied: noodles, fruit, sandwiches, cereals, waffles, omelettes and so on. The room service is available throughout the day and night. There is also a spa and a wonderful infinity pool. The rooms are well maintained and clean. I can not find a "but", I advise you simply.

Fantastic views from The Mantra, slightly out of the way from resturants and bars around the Island, but perfect for a relaxing stay on Samui. Staff friendly, and rooms comfotable.

This hotel deserves more than 5 stars.
It is definitely one of the best hotels we have visited.
The holiday begins at check-in, with a cold towel and a cool coconut water.
Afterwards you will be driven from a golf cart to the respective house/room as they are on the steep slope.
We had a room in the top building with a phenomenal view of the island.
The rooms are relatively large, have a free minibar and a telephone with which international calls are free.
The bathroom was also modern and probably was recently refurbished.
We were very surprised about the bed, which was so comfortable that we did not want to get up anymore, because after two weeks on bockelharten mattresses in Thailand we had given up hope for a comfortable bed.
The restaurant is right next to the pool and offers several "menus" at breakfast which we found very good.
Often we had the Infinitypool for us, or shared it at most with 2-4 other people.
With the hotel's Handyapp we were able to easily golf cart from the room to the reception, the shuttle to the city, scooters, excursions etc. Book.
In order not to be disturbed by the construction noise on our floor, we were offered a higher-quality room, what we refused, however, was because our room was by far the best view and the noise was limited to the time when we did not stay in the room anyway.

The best hotel I had so far. If you want to wake up and see the ocean every morning, this is the place to do it. Great facilities, beautiful rooms, very clean, big bathroom, very nice infinity pool with an ocean view. Breakfast with local and european tastes. The people are lovely. The nicest people I met so far. Very friendly, always happy to help and to do anything for your comfort. Highly recommend it!

The hotel has exceeded our expectations! From the entire hotel you have a beautiful view over Ko Samui, the (and the infinity pool) compensates for the non-existent beach location.
The hotel design is incredibly beautiful and makes every interior heart beat faster. Even the clothing of the staff is quite stylish and could have hung on the bar with the Swedish fashion line Cos. Minimalist and beautiful!
The choice on the menu is relatively small, but the quality is all the better. The staff is very accommodating and you have almost a 1:1 care. In general, every wish is read from your eyes, be it a letter that is used for an extra to the post office or medications that you buy. The staff is simply exceedingly helpful and friendly, especially we would like to highlight at this place Ann, saw and Nuch, who are by far the nicest staff! We have immediately closed the two into our hearts and wish you the best for the future!
A very interesting experience is that unlike in many other hotels, it is absolutely not overflowing. The pool and restaurant is never too crowded, there is no morning battle for sunbeds and is always served directly. Especially pleased to have us the small goodies that are distributed from time to time at the pool (free). Usually this is a delicious refreshing drink. All in all, there is a wonderful peace and quiet, ideal for relaxing! (… and that does not mean that there are no families here!

From Québec! Absolute must. Great spot, great view, great staff! Incredible food and sweet villas from 1 bedroom to 2 bedrooms. Way better than any Chawen hotel. Best value for your money.

Definitely need more staff that speak English if they are catering to English speaking/international clientele. We had to ask for small things (mini-bar refreshed, etc) multiple times and no one could understand what we were saying (however agreed to complete the task). It was never completed. Shuttle service is awful. Again major language barriers with the issues we incurred. Property is beautiful and the gym is great. We would choose to stay on the beach (hopefully with less of a language barrier).

I wouldn’t recommended this hotel at all as a 5 star hotel. The shuttle service is poor and rather bad. You have to book your spot however they rarely check who has booked resulting in a rush to get a seat. The shuttle always has 10–20 minute delay mainly when returning to the hotel. One evening we booked the 10:30pm shuttle service to come back to the hotel. We arrived at the shuttle location at 10:31pm and even though we had booked they left us behind. Most other hotels, when they haven’t picked up everyone would normally wait around for a few minutes but not Mantra Samui. The breakfast is rather boring and very simple. The resort staff look miserable (especially the buggy drivers) they don’t smile, however the restaurant staff are nice. For a ‘5 star hotel’ I would say their services are disappointing, overrated and not comparable to other 5 star hotels we have stayed at in Thailand.

I got a good deal! I stayed here because I found a good deal. I had an infinitypool and my own whirlpool on my terrace. For that what I paid, the hotel was perfect! I would definately stay here again if I get such a good deal again. I did just the brakfast and it was very good. The hotel didn't appear like a 5-Star Resort for me. What I didn't like was the cleanliness. We in Germany have other standards. For Thailand it was pretty clean.

Stayed here twice in two different rooms. Both rooms were awesome, Wow Ocean View Room and the Love Ocean View Room.

I booked through the hotel official website, it got more beneficial advantages, free airport pick up, buy one get one free for SPA etc. In addition, I had no clues on how to book the hotel facilty before I came to Samui, Ms Lee from the reservation team, she is very considerate and helpful. It's nice place to stay when you are in Koh Samui. Big clean, comfortable, sea view and well decorated rooms. Very welcoming staff. Infinity swimming pool. I would recommend this place.

Literally the ultimate place to stay on the island. We could not have asked for more and we are picky customers :) the airport transfer was very swanky. On arrival we had coconut water and wet hand towls. Golf cart to our room. The room was 10/10 super modern and contemporary. So clean and all the details of thai culture are so sweet. The gym is awesome. That's the only reason I used it! Food was 10/10 you can even learn to cook with the Thai chef and go to the market with him for about £30 which is unbelievable. The infinity swimming pool is ridiculously amazing. Swim up and have frsh coconut and food at the bar. The staff cannot do enough for you. One even charged my phone at the bar as they noticed my battery was low! The Spa is idyllic and the treatments out of this world. The cost is more that street or beach prices but worth it! Still super cheap anyway. We cannot express how perfect our stay was and will definitely go back. You would not be disappointed staying here! Enjoy:)

Honeymoon spot in Ko Samui. Located on a hill side over looking the Gulf of Thailand. Away from the noise of the entertainment venues. Perfect romantic place for couples.

Wonderful hotel with the most breathtaking views! The infinity pool and attached restaurant are top quality. The only one downside to this hotel is where it is — its up a mountain so you'll either have to get a taxi up there or you can hire a bike if you are competent enough. Location wise it is close to where you want to be in Koh Samui.

Mantra used to be a great resort highly recommended by friends travelling with us, however since it has changed to new owners the place has changed and needs some major renovation to bring it up to the level it should be. Don't get me wrong, the shuttles into town, Wifi, Pool bar, Spa and Fitness center is great, however the location really cripples it. Very private and secluded, but very far from anywhere and requires a taxi unlike places like The W. Staff are helpful and pleasant but hold off booking here until they upgrade.

Great food, great view, very comfortable, very relaxing and very quiet. And too quiet actually, a little bit boring.

Environment is really very good-quiet, breakfast was great, what's playing. There is a swimming, you can go all day. There, and his wife took a set of wedding photos.

The hotel is fun, for everybody. Located on the hillside. The view is just wonderful. The rooms are nice. But! To move on the territory of not just the slope of the mountain. Permanently attached to the bus which takes in civilization on schedule. You can take a Moto rental, 300 baht. But even with wheels in the evening difficult to move in Chesnakov place when the roads are not lit. And the Breakfast is to put it mildly, Mr. But. Prices of rooms in the hotel are astronomical. Therefore, only 3.

My experience with this hotel was great untill my last day, I had a ferry booked for 7am the the pier, I woke up at 5:00, rang reception at 5:50 for pick me up and to ask for a taxi for me, untill then no problem. I did the checkout all ok (staff was not friendly), then he asks if I need a taxi, being that I called him 15 mins before to ask it for me, anyway he called a taxi and then he told us it would cost 1200 baht, to the same pier as we came few days earlier and we payd 250 baht, but as he knew I couldnt look for another taxi I had to pay. Jumped in the taxi, me and my wife a bit worried because of the time, the taxi driver then handles money to the reception guy! right in front of us. Anyway the hotel is good, but the staff working in there (some) just wanna try to rip u off as much as they can, hence why im leaving the 1 star rate to this hotel.

Vertu nice boutique hotel with a difference. Amazing views. A bit hi overpriced. The buffet breakfast is quite different but nice.

Originally this hotel because it has a kitchen, originally thought to just burn something to eat, was told Cook to inform the front desk, they will send you the "bomb". Some remote location, the hotel provides motorbike rental and a free shuttle service. Restaurant from Monday to Sunday's events are not the same, at 17 o'clock in the afternoon until 18 o'clock and free yoga training. Pool in a restaurant on the edge of stay when the weather is not very good, swimming pool a little cold, but the swimming pool view is nice. Quite many people staying, deck chair by the pool isn't enough, want to lie, go early. Service is thoughtful, guests will be the battery taken out of the hotel room, just met when staying at birthdays, also sent the cake, very warm …

The hotel is fantastic, but only for couples not children as there is no entertainment at all! All there is is the swimming pool and that can get a bit boring. The staff are wonderful, the rooms super duper. It is an ideal location for peace and quiet. If you need anything done the staff are quick to help you and we had some fantastic trips out.

Such a beautiful resort. I would recommend this as a must stay to anyone visiting Ko Samui. The staff are extremely pleasent and helpful and the overall experience has been great.

The best resort property in Ko samui. Period.! No one can beat the view, the hospitality, the food, the welcoming and helpful staff at all times even late night 3am too. Last but not the least the pricing, best pricing. We couple had a lovely massage. The prop is little bit up hill but that should not be a problem because they provide you free shuttle service and motor bike with the additional small fee. It's an adventure to ride bikes here. Best best best. I recommend.
