I did not stay at the hotel as im on a local fitness retreat, but have visited a few times for both breakfast and dinner. Chef Jon is very polite and well mannered however there is one waiter that has decided that people who come to the boathouse just to eat are obviously crooks and need to be cross questioned accordingly because why would you visit the boathouse for a meal when you should be staying in the hotel right? He was exceotionally rude to me and asked me about 6 questions simultaneously in an interrogatory manner. No tip for you! Why can't people come and enjoy a leisurely breakfast and lunch on a Sunday? Obviously in his little mind this is a major crime. Sort it out before your restaurant loses more customers. Be polite to visitors who arent staying at the hotel. We come for the food more than the service, I can assure you. Food great but loses points for sloppy arrogant service staff.
Wonderful. Chef Jon came around to check on us too — lovely chap. Great views, quality food, a relatively extensive wine list and smooth live jazz overlooking the sea. Friendly staff. Book in advance. Good ROI.

From the moment you check in, you know you’re going to have a very special stay at The Boathouse. Try the afternoon tea and the cooking class if you stay. The food and scenery is out of this world but, above everything, the service is exceptional. This was our first visit and I can see why so many people come back.
