Very good establishment! Welcomed with attentions, staff always listening, heavenly setting…

Wow 7 dollars for a glass of wyn. The jetty was very friendly but don't understand why the resort was so clicky.

Very nice hotel, right on the beach. The Jetty Bar is a lovely area to relax at. The Wi-Fi connectivity here is unfortunately terrible though. Very intermittent, and only available at reception or in the restaurant area. No Wi-Fi in the rooms.

The hospitality and kindness are the things that have impressed me the most, smiling faces in every place! the service staff is efficient, never intrusive but always attentive and caring. Peaceful, quiet, background music and birds chirping, the sea of a thousand shades of green-blue… I could go on, but now I'm off to enjoy this paradise!

An old-aged facility, but very nice staff.
Always friendly and helpful. Minor defects will be rectified immediately.
We liked the Saniban evening best with traditional cuisine and live music.
Highly recommended is the "Grotte" Kazu Cave, which is only 1.6 km away.

Spectacular Views especially during High Tide. The JETTY & JETTY BAR are certainly the highlights. Fantastic Cocktails & wide variety of Drinks to choose from. Good Food & great Prices.

Weren’t staying there as a guests just came for dinner. Coffee machine was out of order. Desserts were like from buffet low quality (can’t find it in menu). We were refused to pay by credit card even from very beginning we asked if it’s possible. And also there were a lot of signs everywhere that they accept it. Staff just told that nobody from managers can’t help us cause it was very late (23-40).

We had a fantastic time, stayed there two weeks with the children under the age of 5. Very friendly management, staff and service. Clean and tidy rooms. Good food, nice pool, beautiful beach. Highly recommended!

Once again a proof that the desired "Style" consists only of Lies and deceit. Steeg as External to the food: anyone Who thinks that one is supported on the upstream Steeg, and next to it is full. No coffee/Cocktails/Service, or the like. Even at the Dinner you were dragged here across the table. Inferior quality of fish at prices as in Europe. Orders are not implemented and forgotten, so that not all are equal… a ruined evening. In addition, cold food, because of the must be brought from the main house. The staff is not trained and inattentive. The simplest things do not go here. If you claimed, the "hotel Manager" who asks for apology and reparation as an "invitation" to the main house for Dinner, offers. You accept the offer, a second ruined the evening waiting for you. The "invitation" refers at once to the food, but was bemeint as a "pass by", so we had to pay full price for a Buffet ($22/pP plus drinks), which corresponds to a value of ca 2 Euro. When, in addition to the musical background, the 3 musicians play, make no sound, and with a shameful Try of Folklore with leopard suits and empty eyes look to dress to the coronation of "la cucaracha" to play, then you know that the tourist trap has been sprung. For God's sake… avoid this place…

This resort is a place I will never forget, it has made our holiday something special to remember. Everything from the facilities, food and service is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing beach holiday. Fantastic!

After three flights and a road journey across the island we were extremely glad to get to the Spice Island Hotel and Resort. It was fairly late and very dark and the first people who greeted us were the security guards who happened to be Masai warriors. Reception was very efficient and friendly. The room we were given was quite spacious. The next day we were given a free upgrade to the Suite which was enormous! A large lounge/diner, superb bedroom, 2 shower rooms, flat screen TV, plus our own private sun bathing area. The swimming pool was a good size which I will hopefully use the next time my wife and I stay there; ditto the Indian Ocean. The staff were all very friendly with smiles given out for free. English was spoken by everyone we met there including the guests. Someone posted in their review that the place was full of Germans all speaking their language and not paying attention to anyone. From our experience nothing could be further from the truth. Historically there has been a lot of German influx into Tanzania. In the same way with the British. This situation still exists today. We spoke to the management and nationality didn't matter. We also tried a bit of Swahili. At least we made the local people smile. The food was OK. There was plenty of it. However the chef can't cook tuna very well. He fries the life out of it. I did say how I wanted it cooked and things improved a little.
