Best hostel I've stayed in so far. Amazing staff, laid back atmosphere, and amazing views.

Janine is such a great host, friendly, positiv, flexibel and very perceptive. We came here with our 6 kids and we’ve had such a great time here in these incredibly beautiful and stunning mountains.

Me and my family had a very nice stay at yours hostel. Cozy and with a nice staff. We felt really welcome.

Stayed here in 2006 and it was simply excellent. There was nothing I didn't love about the hostel (accounting for the fact that it is a hostel, and not a hotel) or Gimmelwald. Absolutely wonderful place. The little ginger cat shaking it's paws in the snow was the icing on the cake.

Nice space. Wifi present, but only okay. You have to be out by 9:30 and make your bed for the next person which is kind of early. The bedrooms did not have good charging options. The rooms were either boys, girls, or mixed. The mixed room was called a Lovers room, and the bunk beds were essentially four separate twins on the bottom and four on the top, so you sleep pretty close to a stranger. Like inches. It's your only option in Gimmelwald though.

By far the best place to stay in the mointains. All the best hikes out of there and activities. Small cozy hostel with great people running it. Thank you for the amazing stay.

The hostel has an amazing view anywhere you look and the breakfast is really nice with several options, but I won't suggest to anyone I know to stay there.
The mattresses are really thin, which can hurt your back. The washing machines don't really wash your clothes and they ended up smelling worse after it. There's this lockout thing from 9:30 to 11:00, which they say is to clean the hostel. So you cannot sleep until the time you want to or even use the bathroom or even be in there. The staff it's ok, they try to be nice here and there, but only if you speak english or german, otherwise they'll just leave you alone talking to yourself. Also, when my sweater just disappeared from the reception desk on the day I arrived, none of them seem to care about it. I had to accept the loss and go and buy a new one.

Incredible hostel — the view simply cannot be beat. Helpful staff, fun vibe, free breakfast, and right at the doorstep of some truly incredible hikes. Take he'd, though — the hostel no longer has pizza available to purchase for dinner, though they offer a limited selection of basic groceries. A++, can't wait to come back!

Best atmosphere of a hostel I've stayed at yet. The staff were great in getting everyone together and connected.

The setting of this hostel is what makes it so special. The views ate just stunning! The place has a great vibe, with a chilled and friendly atmosphere. The most friendly hostel I've ever been to! Everything was super clean, kitchen facilities were decent and staff great. Only thing was the beds are very close together — fine if you're travelling with friends but I wouldn't want to be so close to a stranger.

We found this after hiking from Murren. They have a great beer garden, with the perfect food and excellent beer (including a house speciality) to soothe the weary traveler. The staff is excellent and so very friendly. The views… they are breathtaking. Visit if you can.

I visited this hostel in 2016 and it’s one of my favourite memories ever! I miss waking up to the amazing view of the alps, the cool and fresh air, good breakfast before setting off for my hikes! Everywhere is postcard perfect view! At night, it’s a cosy place for travellers to get together and I made so many friends along the way. So much love!

A very nice hostel in a very quiet little town. The staff is attentive to what you need. Breakfast is simple but very rich and you have access to tea and coffee while staying. The only problem is that from 9:30 to 11:00 they do housekeeping and you have to get out of the place.

The community kitchen and dining area were great, showers and toilets were very clean and nice. Beds were clean, bed rolls were a bit thin for me but would have been fine if I were younger. The view is breathtaking.

I didnt stay here for my trip as it was full booked. But I happened to sit here for a while and enjoyed the scenery. It was majestic, heavenly. Attached are some pictures of the surrounding areas.

Best location you could dream of for a hostel. From here, you can't go wrong. The town of Gimmelwald is super quaint and also a little sleepy in the early spring, but if you don't like a million tourists around, all the better! The host, Petra, is lovely and helpful. The hostel itself is charming and clean and the breakfast is plentiful and varietous. I would come back here a thousand times if time and budget allowed! Six stars :)

Incredible spot tucked into a small town right beneath alps. Incredible base for pretty much anything you want to do, and great hang out areas.

The location was close to Murren, where most of the actual stuff is. The rooms are comfortable, hosts are fantastic, and breakfast is good. Very cosy and I would highly recommend it to anyone! Beautiful views as well.

Super cute hostel located in the heart of the mountains. Comfortable with everything you would really need, but nothing more. Good pizza!

But let's be honest, you come for the location and view before anything else and nothing else beats it on either account. My favorite hostel in Europe.

Clean and quiet. Breakfast is available and you can order a pizza for dinner. But the views are spectacular. If you want to get lost in the maintains, this is the place.

Amazing warm welcoming fun quaint cozy beautiful Incredible lovely place. Coziest hostel experience I've had in my life! Even when it's raining and snowing, it's enough to just sit in the common area playing games, drinking tea and meeting the friendliest travellers in the world for hours on end. The mind blowing scenery doesn't hurt.

Had an amazing time at the Mountain Hostel. I highly recommend. Clean, warm and friendly atmosphere. Great staff everyone was great, including Shadow. The views are amazing, the location is perfect. If you are headed to this region, this is the place to stay.
