Sarnen train station is just a 10-minute walk away, making it easy and quick to travel long distances to places like Lugano and Zermatt.

Maybe we loved it so much because it was all we needed and much more after a long day of hiking. From the moment we set foot on the terrace, we were greeted by local friends — not staff.

Great hotel! Staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and I liked the design, which fitted well to the alpine style with the wooden walls and the bird prints.

Really lovely chalet style hotel in Melchtal. Super lovely location near the mountains and close to attraction with cable car. Rooms are very big and reasonably priced.

I had a basic room (shared bathroom), which was plain but perfectly comfortable and a great deal for the money. Bring your own soap and a multiplug adaptor if you have more than one device to charge.

We had an amazing experience here, I would give 10 stars if I could. We booked an overnight stay. The staff was incredibly friendly, flexible and made sure we were taken care of at every opportunity.

Delightful hotel where we spent 2 nights at the start of the Via Alpina trek. The proprietors are very welcoming and do everything possible to make your stay a pleasant one.

Beautiful Location, but a bit far from most things. Breakfast was good, dinner was some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The shower was amazing, and the room was spotless.
