Stupidly expensive. If you want to spend £48 on a simple club sandwich this is the place for you.

Excellent hotel, its rooms have a beautiful view of Lake Lugano, its terrace is spectacular to enjoy an aperitif with that beautiful view of the lake. The hotel has a Spa, a very good restaurant. They have a private taxi service. It's the best place to stay in Lugano.

Possibly the best in Lugano… I'd like a really nice 5 star invitation I'd spend the night there but from the outside a real 5 stars… I can't afford who has any money I think it's worth it.

Absolutely recommendable for people who want to let their soul go and love the special.

This is the type of 5 star hotel where there are no spoons on the table for your morning breakfast. Where the gym advertises that it's open from 0700 but you have to open up and fumble around in the darkness to turn the lights on yourself. The type of hotel where you are never served but constantly asking the staff for service. Where are the tea cups? Can I have a coffee even after being seated for 10 mins? Can I have a spoon to eat my breakfast even though you've delivered my coffee but failed to notice I'm still sitting here waiting to eat my meal! A hotel that has an abundance of 6 wait staff to effectively over service its customers at breakfast, yet customers remain waiting. The type of wait staff that constantly walk past a young couple in love, leaving them wondering whether or not they should venture to the buffet or remain seated because they are among the many numbers of bewildered guests. Yes, that type of hotel. This is the type of hotel that stands behind the Relais & Chateaux brand yet can manage to vacuum it's corridors to keep them clean and presentable. The type of hotel where it's free Wi-Fi but you have to use your own mobile data connection to surf the net because theirs is too slow. When you're checking out, the porter just passes you by without offering to assist with your baggage. The kind of hotel that charges CHF 48 for a club sandwich. Yes that type of hotel.

The landmark chic of Lugano has always been as a hotel and restaurant. The staff is very polite and polite. The location is very nice and comfortable. The restaurant is classy with the highest quality courses and wines. The outdoor terrace is very pleasant and is also accessible for an aperitif during the summer time.

Location is fantastic and the staff courtois and professional as I would expect from a 5 star hotel. The overall infrastructure needs some refreshing though to keep the standards. Yet a great experience.

Very nice view, very good breakfast.

Cheap 5 star hotel in a quiet location. Breakfast was a little less of a choice. The suite was more like a normal room. Service very good and friendly. Mattress WQR rock Hard and there was also nothing softer.

The place is beautiful. On the heights of Lugano, not far from the American school Tasis in Montagnola. Only for a certain clientele. Very chic, very refined. I really enjoyed it!

Very nice place. We have been there several times. I was disappointed only once. The waiter wouldn't come back to our table. We finally flagged someone else down to get some more drinks. All the other staff have been very nice. Barbara was extremely nice. She help host a painting event my husband had for his colleagues at VF.

I had problem with fixing the air-conditioner in the room, it's very poor and the room temperature is very highi realy couldn't withstand the warm weather. I asked them to fix it but they didn't.

Beautiful hotel with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Lugano!

Ageing Hotel, tapestries and decorations to redo. Presumptuous reception on the part of the staff who ignore you partially. Director who exhibits her luxury car at the entrance of her establishment but who greets only a few of her customers accustomed to the restaurant. We also summer disappointed by the SPA which is paying and tiny and which must be booked, plus the pool was not heated. In this region of Switzerland we expected to taste good Italian food, and well pass your turn, you will eat much better in any other restaurant in the city. The value for money is really bad, this hotel is unfortunately much more beautiful in the photos than in reality.

Absolutely no words to describe how Perfect place for vacation and Ocassionally Festival in the City! I had a warm welcome and professional service room with all elegance skill. Very happy!

Really disappointing position as 5 star see Palace. And have nothing to do with the promises… No luggage service, no Welness, carpet earlier old and not always clean with tasks everywhere also in the rooms.
Really disappointed the only value of this hotel is the restaurant really good and at the height (superb).

We were allowed to stay two days at the Leopoldo and enjoyed the whole ambiance and the view. From breakfast to tasteful dinner, everything was without reproach! Very friendly staff…

There are no serious deficiencies. The whole State (from the good old days) can not convince me but then much more enchanting view on the Lugano Lake far below the Villa — nothing for a short walk into town and the lakeside promenades.

The Leopoldo is an incredibly special and beautiful villa, located high up in the hills with stunning views over Lake Lugano. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the patio, serenaded by a very talented singer. I would absolutely go back and highly recommend it for a special evening.
