Clean neat beach. Fantastic for swimmers and non swimmers. Easy access to the near by island which offers plenty to see.

It's old school, has a lot of shade and hammocks which makes the scorching Trinco sun bearable. Friendly staff and the location with it's white sandy beach with shallow water are what makes the place. The food is decent but that would not be a reason to visit.

First visit to nilaveli beach hotel an disappointed as hell. Food was an even bigger disappointment I could have cooked myself a better lunch at home. The staff wasn't helpful or either friendly they didn't even know what the hotel had to offer. Heard so many good things about this place so that's the reason we decided to go but I will never make another trip over there it's not worth it!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Staff supper friendly and helpful. Beautiful location. Pigeon island snorkeling beautiful. The sea here is warm and very safe for kids. Pool is lovely. Bar area and the food all fantastic. Would highly reccomend it.

My home away from home for the past 20 years. Amazing beach, plenty of privacy for guests, friendly staff, decent rooms, lots of trees and shade. Best beach location in Sri Lanka imho. Ideal for long stays.

I'll never forget the hospitality the manager showed me seven years ago: backpacking through Sri Lanka, our destination was only a suggestion from random people we met on 12 hour buses. Being exceptionally late, we stumbled upon this hotel; the manager noticed how tired we were and let us stay for 4 nights (it was off-peak). From dingy guest houses to this luxury. It kept us from going insane. Thank you.

A very cosy and relaxing place. The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly. Would appreciate if Wi-Fi was freely available in the rooms.

It z a perfect destinations for the travelers who are going around Trinkomalee. There is a sweimming pool and they offer diving in Pigeon Island. And there is a beverage bar.

We only had breakfast here but it was delicious and varied. There was western and very good local breakfast.
The outdoor facilities look very well maintained and modern. The hotel makes a good impression.

Staff are amazing carnt help you enough, food we only had breakfast at resort but it also is amazing plenty of choices. My only down side to this place is the Wi-Fi network no reception in ur room but eazley fixed if you buy ur own data and it cheap. We really enjoyed our stay. Also cheek out the diving it's awesome.

Nilaveli is the best property you can go in eastern coast of Sri Lanka. You can experience 5 star hotel pleasure in budget. They also have diving center in their premises so you can go for diving also and they are very good in their business.

Really good place for a vacation. Good service from the hotel. Really helpful. Very friendly staff. Beach is also super nice and 5 minute boat ride to pigeon island where you can do snorkeling. Only issue is food prices are very high.

High price for poor quality service compared to other similar classed hotels. Staff does not have correct attitudes toward basic sanitation and Hygiene. Good food filled with FLIES. When trying to contact Local MOH (Medical officer of Health), he is also getting benefitting from the hotel (getting free meals). Complained to management, they also do not care and think having FLIES is a normal thing and think it does not indicate poor hygiene. BUT HAVING FLIES flying all around the place and covering food is NOT NORMAL. Overall had a bad experience and endured the risk of getting food poisoning.

Great place to enjoy trip.

Poor quality experience for a high price. Compared to the quality and expectation of service delivery by austalian standards this hotel was subpar. While there was an abundance of hotel staff, they were unhelpful, playing on their phones or just standing around. There are NO mosquito nets. Which is unacceptable given the location and we found it challenging to deal with all through the night. The floors were filthy inside the room and the restaurant food was well over priced ($16 — $32) for a main which is too much for western food. No traditional / local food on offer. Internet Access — expect to sit in the staff office to access the Wi-Fi. The pool is okay but definitely not four or five star — at best — three. Not a very relaxing or pleasant experience for what they consider to be a good price.

Hotel environment and service is still possible, is that the restaurant is very expensive, from the pigeon island is very close.

Beautiful location. Staff are very helpful. Food is great and dessert is a specialty… easy access to pigeon island although they don't provide the boat service the reception is very help full. It's the best place to stay if ur going to visit Pigeon island.
