La Tortuga Hostel Hostel

I spent a week in this hostel and that is one of the best I have ever found! Staff always available and helpful for any thing always present, cleaning of rooms, bathrooms and especially the organization of evenings with a BBQ to get people involved. Thanks a lot guys, see you soon, keep it up!

Great hostel. Came with no expectations and left with such good memories and few new friends. Very clean place, lovely staff, friendly and chatty owners. The barbecue wednesday was cool, chilling around pool and in the backyard was what we needed. Would recommend. Thanks!

Amazing hostel that immediately felt like home!

Pretty modern house with lots of natural light, a small swimming pool and garden. The big plus here is the lovely "homey" athmosphere between staff/ customers. Simply can not not like it! Besides, it's really close to the beach. Super recommend it!

Had a very friendly stay, the hostel is very homely and safe. Every one was so nice, the host Karen is very professional. From the time we booked, we got welcome email and directions how to drive and visit. The pools are cosy and clean. The breakfast was like a family gathering of people from a round the world. Will certainly stay again. Home away from home.

I agree with the majority of these reviews that this is an exceptional hostel and can highly recommend it. I needed a room for one night and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was booked via telephone and was spotlessly clean and very cool and peaceful. The staff seem to speak almost every language and are so helpful and positive it makes for a very homely atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable and the hostel is in a quiet location but not too far from the town and beach. After checking out I was allowed to store my luggage and use a bathroom to shower after the beach. The free breakfast is excellent and the whole place is very relaxed and friendly. If you did have a problem I am confident the staff would resolve it very quickly. The swimming pool is just a plunge pool but the Atlantic ocean is minutes away. The staff are very helpful with advice on the island, activities, excursions, restaurants and are keen to promote the real island, culture and food rather than the tourist hotspots. They have produced a guide booklet which is a fantastic resource of information on the island. If your budget for accommodation is around this room rate then all the other hostels/hotels in this price range are mostly vastly inferior to La Tortuga and often sold out, most of the other ones I looked at I would rather sleep on the beach!

My stay was very good with helpful staff and very clean accommodation. Sharing a room was not a problem with other like minded considerate guests. It was also nice to share a drink or two in the evening and share stories. Give it a try.

I stayed at the "Tortuga" from 16/01/18 to 23/01/18 along with my partner, we had a great time the hostel is clean, cozy and full of cheerful and helpful people… so you feel at home! Recommended to spend a wonderful holiday in Tenerife.

This is the best hostel, that I have visited in tenerife. Located in adeje, which is the one area in tenerife, i've visited, which has a micro-climate, the cool or cold breeze of december nights, afflicting golf del sur, el medano, does not happen! staff and voluntarios, are universally helpful, management, rapid response-the day after I arrived, I foned a friend who was already on the island, she said that she wanted to leave the exotic place she was in, and come join me, there! standing at the reception desk as I spoke with her, friend said would like to come stay with me, the young lady then on the reception, same surname as my friend, made a brief fone call to her principal, and we had a private room, for a song more when split cost two ways! this is an example of how reactive, enabling, the staff there, are! another new friend, wanted a private room, too, but didn't gget one till our last night, there! what I am saying, is, that if it is possible, demand was very high, then, these people will do their damnedest to please! a very enabling place! this wonderful place, has 3 buildings, main building, annexe and the independence building. We stayed in all three, this visit. I'm coeliac, told them, and breakfast for me was exactly right! better food-taste, than manchester's blotting-paper! fruit, coffees' teas, cheese, ham, local bread, fruit juice, and, of course excellent facilities to prepare your own food.

Had an absolutely amazing stay at La Tortuga. The staff really treat you like part of the family and are always on hand to help with questions, provide recomendations, share dinner/lunch or invite you out for drinks at their favourite local bar. The free breakfast is one of, if not THE best I've had during my many hostel stays around the world. The dorm rooms and facilities are fantastic (two kitchens, two swimming pools and lovely clean bathrooms). The location is perfect for me — near enough supermarkets, bars and beaches to be handy yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle so it's lovely and quiet at night. The Wednesday night BBQ is not to be missed! I will defintley be back!

I spent one week in the hostel and it was an amazing time! We guys in the hostel explained the island and showed us good spots we can visit. The hostel is not far from the beach, which you can get to in just 10-15min. As well we joined the BBQ on Wednesday and it was really funny, they took us afterwards to a flamenco bar which was great! My room was really tidy, and the shared bathroom as well. I really enjoyed the terrace which was a good spot to sit at the evening and meet some other people. I highly recommend this hostel, thanks to the stuff who is so nice and supportive, you really feel like home :) I definitely will come back!

Great hostel near the beach with very nice personnel, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a pool. We didn't like our first room, so we were offered a swap. Very happy about that. 5 stars from us. THX La Tortuga :)

Tortuga is a fun place with a kind and friendly staff. Everyone we met was happy to help and provide plenty of suggestions for sightseeing and activities. Shared breakfast was simple but the mixed company from Poland, Italy, Australia, Lithuania, Canaries/Spain and France, made it a pleasure and a delight. A little smokey smelling out in the shared yard and pool, but overall a great stay. Inside the house was clean, eclectic, and simple. Shared library and shared space for food and some freebies included. This is truly a great example of a fun hostel community.

Best hostel of Tenerife! Positive environment, easy to meet new people and perfect location to walk to the best beaches. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I higly recommend this hostel to everyone.

The room with a bathroom is in a basement. No window. Just a window. It's nice. Full of young people. All foreigners. Very hippie. A little messed up the common exterior.

I have never been to such a nice and friendly hostel before. It has a unique atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than planned. La Tortuga is in a lovely and quiet area located close to the beach, however if you are looking for a nice bar with live music or you want to show off you Latin dancing skills just talk to the staff or long-term guests for recommendations and they might even join you. Perfect for solo travellers!

Cozy living room, kitchen, and garden with a small swimming pool and lounge area pretty much ensure you'll meet new friends rapidly. The dorms are clean, was pleasantly surprised by the amount of power sockets and very nice bathrooms that lock and give you some privacy and space to get ready in the morning. Staff was super accommodating and friendly, and will often participate in activities and nights out. It's not the most quiet place (which is part of hostel appeal), but things settle down after 11-12pm so some sleep can be had. The hostel has 'leftover bins' for toiletries, food and drinks (filled by departing guests) which I liked, if you forgot to bring something or are travelling on the cheap you can pretty much survive from those. Overall had a very nice experience and will definitely come again.

Stumbled across La Tortuga hostel by pure accident. Having spent a week in Costa Adeje only 6 weeks earlier, I was desperate to return and La Tortuga was exactly what I was looking for. La Tortuga offers a relaxed atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need. I was only staying for 4 nights so didn't spend much time in the hostel but the staff were understanding and never put pressure on you to get involved with activities. All in all, had a wonderful time just wish I could've stayed longer.
PS — They have a lovely, socialable cat too who loves a fuss and food!
Will definitely return in the future.

Highly recommended hostel! Nice and clean, really friendly atmosphere, good vibes and helpful staff, perfect for solo travellers as well as it is very easy to make friends, good location for beaches and for transport connections.

La Tortuga is the perfect home away from home and probably one of the best hostels i´ve ever booked. I enjoyed my time there a lot — thanks to the lovely stuff! It´s a very special atmosphere that makes you feel more than welcome and of course the nice garden area with 2 pools, the weekly BBQ and great breakfast give you a feeling of being in paradise! You can even get there alone and you´ll always find someone to spend your time with. Moreover it´s a really clean hostel! I can highly recommend this place:)

Really nice location, walking distance from the beach and tons of resteraunt and shops. Staff super friendly and nice. Only downside is they ran out of hot water one day so had to take a freezing shower.

A hostel with swimming pool, Garden, relaxation area and many people from all over the world. Is 200 metres from the Centre. Super markets, shopping malls and pubs are very close, you can move around on foot.
The costs are very low:
— A single bed with shared room (max 4 persons) costs € 17 per night;
— Single room with shared bathroom € 30 per night;
— Single room with private bathroom € 40 per night;
There is the possibility to rent a scooter for 33 € per day, 55 € for two days, 150 € a week.
If you want to get around the island and do some sightseeing or other activities, you can talk with the staff people who are always at your disposal.

Is really near of so many places in the south aea, the beach is close. All the hostel is a charming rom staff to the guests, you can always have a great time in the chill out area, I loved it, very familiar and recommended 100%.
