The room and bathroom were both extremely out-dated, the bed hurt my husband's back, and the breakfast made me sick to my stomach after a few hours. The worst of all of the receptionists took my passport to scan it and hid it. I searched everywhere trying to find it, no luck. Finally had to pay for many international calls to find out they had it the whole time. In total between phone call costs and expedited shipping, getting my passport back cost me $150. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had great hopes for the semi-reasonable cost, but DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. The same issue with the passport happened to a German lady the same night. Be ware! I would never return to this place again. La habitación y el baño estaban muy antiguos, la cama estuvo muy duro y lastimó la espalda de mi esposo y el desayuno me hizo enfermar del estómago. Lo peor de todo fue que el recepcionista tomó mi pasaporte para escanearlo y se olvido de entregarmelo. Busqué en todas partes tratando de encontrarlo, sin suerte. Finalmente tuve que hacer muchas llamadas internacionales para encontrar que el hostal lo tenia todo el tiempo. En total, entre los costos de las llamadas telefónicas y el envío rapido, recuperar mi pasaporte me costó $ 150. No recomendaría este lugar a nadie. Tenía grandes espectativas por el precio a pagar del cuarto, pero NO PIERDAS TU TIEMPO Y DINERO. El mismo problema con el pasaporte le sucedió a una chica alemana la misma noche. Se precavido!
This hostal is a scam. Just as an example, when I came up to reception to print boarding passes and politely asked the lady whether this would be possible I was told yes, no problem. … yes, but at 1€ per page as I learned after the passes were printed. First time I pay for boarding pass, especially at the hotel, and at such a rate. Other impressions about the hostal are equally dubious.

It's only a 1-star place, but of its kind it's as good as anywhere I've ever been anywhere. The rooms are spacious, with balconies and bathrooms which have baths as well as showers, there is a nice pool and bar and the food is perfectly decent in its unpretentious way. The people are very friendly and it's less than 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach. The best recommendation for the place is that many people keep coming back year after year, in many cases for 20 or more years. If you are on a budget and want a no-frills, friendly place in a lovely location I strongly recommend it.
