Hotel Amazonas

There was a blood stain on the wall and a stain of something else on bed sheets. We paid an extortionate price per night for the service received. Their policy includes no daily housekeeping or change of towels neither until after 2 days — this and what follows leaves me bewildered as to how they can charge the rate they do. No plugs close to the bed. No fridge in the room. Just the absolute basic amenities. One flat pillow each in the room and was unable to be provided another until the next day due to our late check in (late flight) and no staff available to retrieve extra pillows — heads up, if you check in late, the man at the desk can only check you in and provide no further support. The surface of the shower was also slippery (perhaps due to cleaning products used) and a hazard to those with poor stability. Tried to call reception about our air con on our last night and realised that the receiver was detached from the cable of the phone which also did not fit the receiver at all. Unsure why this place is highly rated by others as it certainly was not our experience!

The hotel is in a great location, which made our stay very convenient. It has been recently renovated both outside and inside, and we were pleasantly surprised by how fresh and modern it looked. The beds were very comfortable, the room was spotless, and from our window we even had a partial view of the sea – a lovely bonus! The water pressure was always good, and the room stayed pleasantly cool day and night, which was perfect during the hot weather.
The only thing I would improve is the breakfast. The taste was a bit plain for me, and the juices seemed to be made from powder, which was surprising.
Overall, it’s a nice hotel with good value for the money, and I would definitely recommend it for a comfortable stay.

When you book a room, it’s mainly to sleep. This is also the main business of an hotel : let the people sleep in your rooms.
My room, close to the street on the 1st stage, has not sound isolation. I heard what happened in the street as if I WAS currently in the street. The cars, the people etc…
There are a lots of cars in the street even during the night & there are a lots of people partying/talking during the night in the street.
SO you can’t sleep at all because of all of this noises. I slept literally 0 minute.
So is Hotel Amazonias a hotel or a Yoga place where you can take some time to think about your whole life in a bed because you can’t sleep at all?
PLEASE ISOLATE YOUR WINDOW CLOSE TO THE STREET.
