The most important thing… the people who are working here… they hv gone out of their norm to make you feel important and good. my 2nd time here, surely will book this hotel again nx month for my delegations.

Stunning terrace. Definitely the best in the city centre.

Fantastic location in Madrid. Walking distance to museums restaurants historic places. Hop on hop off bus across the street. On a main street on one side other other side has access to all the small little pedestrian streets with shops restaurants and charm. The restaurant breakfast was fantastic. The upstairs roof balcony has fantastic views. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was super. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Fabulous hotel in the heart of Madrid, wonderful, knowledgeable staff, nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was amazing, we had ours served on the terrace which was stunning. LOVE, LOVE this fab hotel, hopefully we will stay again.

Impeccable!

Overall decent stay with sleek, interesting decor in both the common areas and rooms. The superior rooms are a bit cramped for the price and the beds and linens are hard and itchy. The room service, food, and cocktails are overpriced and slow for a "5 star" hotel. The maid and Porter staff are very competent, rooms are kept clean. The bar and Concierge staff however are unfriendly and disappointing. The kicker though was our departure. It took the staff 25 minutes to retrieve our luggage from storage, which is completely unacceptable. Ultimately, they held us up for so long that they made us miss our train which costed us €160 for new tickets. I would never recommend staying here, nor would I stay here again for the price, low quality food, amenities, and service.

Wonderful! Would definitely stay here next time I visit Madrid. The room was very clean and has all the amenities needed. The service is beyond great, the staff are very helpful and polite.

We went to the hotel to enjoy the terrace located on the roof of the building. The best of the incredible views of Madrid, especially the Metropolis building.
The terrace is very cozy and the service of the waitress impeccable, very polite, helpful and attentive.
Without a doubt a great place to have a good wine or a rich cocktails. Prices according to the place (the Hotel of 5*).
The rest of the Hotel I can not have much opinion but seeing the entrance and the treatment of the staff I was looking forward to staying.

Wonderful experience overall! The room quality and service levels are amongst the best in Madrid! The rooftop bar is also a great spot to entertain guests or just have a quiet drink in the evenings. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you to the entire team at The Principal Madrid.

Heading back to the Principle Madrid. Just an amazing historic property. The front desk, restaurant, and bar are on the roof. The views are spectacular. The service is hands down some of the best in the SPG family of hotels. I’ve stayed at the Westin Palace, which is nice, but doesn’t compare to the principle.

Bad attention, a bland terrace, no music, no people, no views… The waitress wanted to charge us again the account we had already paid before. We asked them to lower an umbrella, to give us a little sun, and refused, alleging that they would be left without a table available (8 tables in total, and there were only two occupied). There are infinitely better terraces in Madrid, near that hotel at least three.

The terrace is spectacular. The bar upstairs is expensive but they don't force you to consume if you want to go up to enjoy the views.

Amazing views of Madrid, but terrible reservation system. I booked two weeks in advanced for dinner but when we arrived the booking had been made for the terrace where you can't even have dinner (I made sure to chose the option "reserve for dinner on their web). I even called in advance to confirm the dinner reservation and they said that it was confirmed. Really disappointed as you should be able to asumeaa better service at a location like this one. If you go, goo for drinks, nothing else.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was our worst experience of any hotel in Madrid so far. As the hotel have a 2 day cancelation policy, I asked to cancel our last nights stay shortly after arrival. Any refund was refused by management. The bed sheets do not fit the bed, when asked for sheets to fit, we were told this wasn't possible. After a few hours, it became possible. The duvets are not washed for each guest as the hotel claim they are. Sheets put on bed the second night again did not fit. After waiting 90 minutes, dirty sheets were then put on bed. The vents for the air conditioning were absolutely disgusting. When raised with management the outer most part was cleaned but the inside was still filthy. I have been ill since staying in this establishment and had perfectly good health when I arrived. Then the hotel took an unauthorised payment of €871. They gave false information regarding when the unauthorised payment would be returned. There is no manager in the building unless you arrange an appointment in advance. This hotel should be avoided at all costs. Area outside of windows is appalling to look at, very dirty. Management are rude and condescending.

We came here for the first night of our honeymoon and had the most excellent experience. The staff went above and beyond, nice doesn’t even begin to explain the service we received. Cesar drove us to and from the airport and was so kind and helpful. Raphael at the property was also incredibly sweet and attentive — making sure our experience was perfect. We stayed in the Jr suite, room 201 and it was perfect size for all our luggage and provided an awesome view of the city. We also loved the Cava and brownies the hotel provided and the complimentary coffees upon check in and check out. We had lunch via room service which was beautiful as well as drinks on the roof — delicious — and dinner at the hotel. The food was unique and very tasty. Can’t say enough great things about our experience there!

Great little hotel. Service from the 2 bell-men down stairs were absolutely amazing. There was one in particular whose name I don't recall that really went well above and beyond. The other 2 that were around during our visit were good as well. Rooms were really nice and good size for a city hotel, decor is great but the rooftop bar wasn't exactly happening like what I had imagines when reading about it on the website or told about it by the check-in person.

Very nice place with great service and a nice view of Madrid. The garden bar/restaurant area is definitely worth a visit. Can recommend this place when in Madrid. The rooms are a good size with some nice design details throughout. The breakfast is also very nice and with a good view from some of the tables.

Very well located (not in the middle of the Gran Via, where is the biggest tumult) with excellent service, outstanding details and with very comfortable but not large rooms: we were in a premium room (at least that we hired) and we didn't have much Space for our big suitcases.
However, when it comes to a Boutique Hotel, located in a magnificent classic building, with a — reiterate — excellent service, excellent cuisine and modern and comfortable rooms, it is a super recommended option.

Terrace with spectacular views, very nice. The beverage menu has a lot of variety of beers, but shorter in the others. We ordered iced tea that they made right there. The price, as you would expect, very high.

The views from the terrace (which is one floor higher than the bar) deserve the visit, both at night and in the daytime. The details of the magnificent building metropolis, the glass dome of the Bank of Spain, the skyscrapers of the financial area, the mole of the telephone building, the Gran via and all its splendor… All that and more is the Madrid that the roof allows us to enjoy with astonishment.

Great staff. Large comfortable room. Food excellent. Could walk everywhere. What's not to like.

Super kind and professional service. When my daughter felt bad, this hotel called the doctor immediately. All staffs are very kind and we didn’t any stress.

Lovely staff but room overlooking a gloomy inner courtyard. Need to explain three times that we are two to have two bathrobes, two shower gels… This is obviously not worth five stars…

First class all the way. Not the cheapest but as far as accommodation and facilities go, this small hotel is unbelievably good. Great location for exploring Madrid. Friendly staff who can help with almost any problem. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

In the heart of Madrid, a fabulous hotel where the close and elegant treatment makes you feel very comfortable. The decor and services very, very close to the luxury hotels in the world. Service at all levels a 10. I'd love to come back soon.

Terrible customer service. I was scheduled to stay here on a layover. We missed our connection and were unable to make it to Madrid. We were charged $310 for the cancellation. In all my years of travel I've never encountered a hotel that charges you if you have to cancel for circumstances out of your control. I will never stay here if I make it back to Madrid. Be aware their cancellation policy is bogus.

Very elegant place, with exceptional treatment and spectacular views of the Gran via of Madrid and the Meteopolis building.

It's a decent restaurant but I was expecting a bit more luxury from a 5 star. Having said that I would still recommend the hotel. Rooms were very clean and location is amazing. They also have an amazing rooftop.

A charming hotel in the centre of Madrid. Your décor will captivate you just across the street Door. If you have occasion climb to the terrace of the sixth floor to admire and enjoy incredible views of Madrid de los palacios, with the Gran via and Calle Alcalá as Protagonists.

The penthouse terrace has beautiful views, ideal for a drink when weather permitting. The restaurant with a nice atmosphere and with a deal on the part of the staff that gives Pleasure. In short, the evening was enjoyable but on culinary theme with nothing to Highlight. We took the dessert on the terrace of the restaurant and as it was cold they had it closed… in summer it has to be more Impressive.

Amazing service, very clean and great part of town. Recommend it to anyone traveling from America. Got in super early after an overnight flight and was in need of a major nap from the jet lag. Staff was so accommodating and found us a room so we could get some shut eye for a few hours instead of wandering like zombies until our room was ready. Roof top is amazing and rooms are modern and kept very well. Like a W property in America but nicer. Would absolutely come back.

The staff and concierge were so friendly and accommodating, helping us sort out restaurant bookings, a flamenco show and a day trip to Toledo as well as providing us with general sightseeing tips. The hotel was beautiful and clean, the beds were huge and comfortable, the bathrooms were great and there were great little touches like the complementary Nespresso machine that made mornings all the better. Perfect hotel in a perfect location with the best staff — no reason to ever stay at any other hotel!

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and have plenty of bells and whistles (Bluetooth speakers built into ceiling, espresso machine, etc. ). The common areas are beautiful, with a plethora of original artwork, unique lighting, and much more. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is great. Very helpful and knowledgeable concierge. Quiet and well decorated rooms. Excellent location close to the Gran Via shopping area and many good restaurants close by.

Is a great oasis in the Ruhr with a great Restaurant and a great wine selection and the evening on the terrace in the 7th floor with a priceless view of the sunset and the city.

Spectacular as restaurant (have not been in the rooms). We take something on the sixth floor which has a very nice covered terrace and then dinner in the seventh as if that is an outdoor roof. A marvel of roof.
That Yes, it is a closed menu but the truth is that it is very varied (you can choose between a few first, second and desserts). All very delicious.

The change of company has been noticed and the terrace is great. I have not been able to even go to dinner, but the terrace has great views and good care.

Very central and with a terrace accessible also for non-hotel guests. The views from there are the Gran via, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The worst thing is a little expensive.

Spectacular views and great quality food. He personal is very friendly and we were treated to the perfection. Very good quality/price ratio, with spectacular dishes to nothing prices for the type of cuisine are offered; highly recommended.

I went for a few drinks on the roof. Cosmo was rich but the view of the roof not dazzled me. There are many other best in Gran Via.

We went to the restaurant which is on the terrace which is covered with glass greenhouse by which offers good views. The decor is nice and the tables are separated to enjoy privacy. Relaxed atmosphere and comfort. We ate well for about € 40/person sharing the first between couples and with two bottles of wine, one dessert and coffee.
Contrasts salad was good, although a little scarce. It is not to share. Second, I tried some cannelloni and a rice socarrat with beef that was well done like cannelloni. The desserts in a few cups also passed his examination with good note. I would highlight the views and the convenience of the local.

The entrance to the hotel's first floor are not significant, but when you go to the front desk, go to any other part of the hotel, you will find the hotel is truly. A five star signature unique Hotels. Terrace with good views of the dome of the Metropolitan.

I was going to be much when it was the Ada Palace both the terrace and the roof. Now on the terrace cocktail bar has nothing to do, the caipirinha was undrinkable and at an exorbitant price. Rule out climb to the roof. Here I do not return. The only thing good views. I leave a photo.

I celebrated the birthday of my partner in The Main Hotel. We loved the two! It is beautiful, the views superb, the dishes are very well maintained and exquisite, and the service phenomenal. I wear a 10. Very very highly recommended, great price for a place so elegant.

Very good place to stay — highly recommended. The service by the door men is exceptional, and the service in general is very good. They also have a roof top bar / chill out area, it is beautiful at night with some cool tunes playing. I would rate 4.5 stars. They would lose. 5 stars as the buffet breakfast is quite expensive (52€ for 2) and our room had a strange smell on the last day. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect and highly recommended to any person wishing to spoil themselves a little. Tip for breakfast — you can find cheap good Spanish breakfasts in the various cafe around this hotel, about 10€ for 2 people. Loved this place.

I was having a drink with my partner on The Terrace and I felt very disappointed. Many waiters are young, with little experience and very poor customer service. Both pijoterismo and so little professionalism will leave a bitter reminiscences, what a pity. A lousy organization and a lack of control total: the service is slow and once the command is almost impossible to get a waiter back to paying attention (go to full speed by your side without even looking at you and much less to ask if everything is ok or if we want something more because they pretend to be very busy and even overwhelmed). Us after work to get a second order we find with surprise that "they forgot" traernosla. In addition, if you order food, don't bring napkins. Very disgruntled. We will not return. Not recommending it.

There is No best terrace in Madrid. See it to believe it. It is new in the Gran Via, the rooms are very cozy. If you like boutique hotels and also in the centre is this that you have to go, it is best to the attention of the staff.

Madrid premiere hotel. A boutique hotel with lots of charm located in one of the best areas of Madrid, the small calle Marqués de Valdeiglesias in Great Way to the height of the calle Alcalá. The decor is warm and elegant but uncluttered. Timeless classic, with touches of home and style. The hotel belongs to the owners of the one (also in Madrid) and the Grand Central in Barcelona (both with 5 stars also). And not inferior in nothing to his brothers. One of the wonders of this hotel is its terrace on the seventh floor with stunning views and an excellent restaurant signed by the Michelin star chef, Ramón Freixa. The rooms are comfortable although the best thing is its very comfortable and huge bed and its functional and nice shower. I touched the 308 and I have to say that the views are excellent (the dome of the church located in the front) and the sleep quality impeccable. The service: professional but close, and very friendly. It also has a small gym and a massage area. If you go to Madrid, don't miss this gem that just opened and already it has become my favourite place in the city.

The first hotel 5 * Gran via. Spectacular views, excellent service. Luxury and comfort in the pure Centre of Madrid. It is those hotels that you don't want to go. The best dining the the covered terrace with the most amazing views of Madrid and end the evening with a good gin and tonic on the terrace enjoying the music, the skyline and an exquisite service staff.
