The Central House Barcelona Gracia Hostel

I stayed 3 nights here with my 8 month old son and my parents at Rodamon Marrakech. My son was treated like a celebrity by the staff and they doted on him constantly. They never seemed annoyed by his crying and were always trying to coax a smile out of him. The reception staff were incredibly helpful with directions, making recommendations, ordering shuttles, helping with luggage. The hostel wasn’t “baby friendly” per se but I didn’t expect it to be. The hostel itself was beautiful and looked more like a boutique hotel.

This is a fantastic hostel! It was built to provide the most comfort possible in shared space, so good block out curtains around each bed, attention to providing a place to recharge devices, and a private light in your bunk that doesn't disturb others because of the block out curtains, a little build-in shelf for things like phones, watches, glasses, etc. I thought a very good hostel.

Remember to be No. No. 302 stealth in the classical building of the youth Brigade, but the appearance without any signs. Please note that there is no sign ~ There is only a small door button next to gate No. 302 that says Rodamon. Press it down and you'll open the door. ~~~ is a century-old antique elevator. It's great.

It was ok. A lot of 40-something and 50-something people stayed there. Do not buy any shampoo or soap if you forgot to bring them, there are some in the bathroom that you can borrow. The place is rather clean overall; more so in the morning right after the cleaning staff shift. We were not many guests, I guess it must be more complicated during crowded times. Breakfast ok, Spanish food is not that great, but all in all you can make do with it. I even managed to make a sandwich for my lunch break. Towels (1 or 2 euros) and breakfast (4, 50 euros) are extra by the way. Wifi worked. In the bedroom, the windows were opened with the air-conditioning on… the latter makes a lot of noise. Your bed will move significantly when the person below or above you gets on it. The door makes a loud noise, and in general, even with ear plugs, expect to have your night a bit messed up (you will sleep rather lightly) by people coming and going, because of the harsh light and the noise. Oh, and the nice plants on the pictures are fake ones. What a shame… Could not enjoy the terrace because of the bad weather.

Great beds with nice balcony! Breakfest is delicious and every thing is clean, nothing negative to say about Rodamon.

It is an excellent place close to the attractions of Barcelona. Good location with respect to the Metro and bus lines… I would stay there again.

Clean, tidy and nice hostel. The staff is very polite and friendly. Rooms are comfy, and most guests are considerate, well behaved and polite. You can rent/buy any amenities you might need. The breakfast is absolutely sufficient, and worth its price. Not recommended for fussy people but if you are calm, relaxed, easy going and curious to get to know other people — yes, Rodamon Hostel is a great place to be.

Friendly staff and extremely well situated. It's rustic looking and spacious. There is a big terrace with lots of sun light and perfect for relaxing. The breakfast is OK but there is a kitchen where you can make your own food. It's a very clean hostel!

This Hostel is amazing, the staff is super nice and helpful. They really gave me great tips for eating out. It is a hostel but it feels almost like an hotel, every bed has a curtain and a reading light, very private. I had to do some work in the living room and it was great as it is a quiet hostel with a very sunny living room! The location is superb, right next to the Gaudi Bulidings. I will definitely come back!

This is a wonderful hostel located right in the heart of great shopping. La Sagrada Familia is right around the corner practically, and I hear there’s a very nice organic market right downstairs. Unfortunately the market is closed on Sundays though. Great rooms, great beds, nice blankets and comfortable sheets. Very modern, comfortable shared bathrooms although the showers and stalls are a little small. They could have made them bigger because I rarely see that many people in… there at once. There’s also a private handicapped bathroom you can use if you need some privacy. Very handicapped friendly as there is a lift to the second floor where the hostel is located. They have a gorgeous veranda where you can chill and the people who hang outside are usually more personable. My only complaint is that people here seem to keep to themselves. If you’re looking for a social hostel, try Hostel One. If you’re looking for a more mature, relaxed experience, check this place out. Here are about the same price, but you’re payin for different things. EDIT: Originally this was a five star review, but after staying here for a few days, there are a couple of things that I am disappointed by. I get kicked off the Wi-Fi every time I close my computer, which is really annoying since I need to be on the internet for my work. Ofter the internet is painfully slow, so much that I can't even complete a Google search in under a minute.

It's great, nice, clean, calm, close to the metro stations besides the most busy area Rambla in Barcelona.

It is one of the best hostels in Barcelona, I recommend it… not because there are so many people complaining, if this hostel is clean, good facilities, I've been to other hostels in Barcelona and not even. Very good Hostel.

I loved staying at this hostel. Stayed 2 nights, arriving rather late on the Friday evening. The reception was friendly and helpful, and quickly showed me everything I needed. I was provided with an in-house map of the city with slightly-off-the-beaten-track recommendations for food and shopping, many good suggestions! The hostel itself was very mod, very clean, the rules were clear and people seemed to stick to them, the bathrooms were nicely equipped, and the breakfast was tasty and fresh. The bed had charging points and a shelf, as well as a privacy curtain. There was a lovely indoor and outdoor sitting area to relax and catch up on your comms, with good Wi-Fi. Coming and going needed a security key and I saw that the reception had video view of the entrance way for security purposes. They also had some cute merchandise Overall, I really felt welcome and comfortable while I was here. Would definitely recommend.

Do not pass through the hotel to book a taxi, they are in cahoots with them, 50 euros to go to the airport, nice Commission!
Otherwise a pity because nothing to complain about the hotel and the staff.

Although the place has a space designed with taste in all spaces, I think some of the most important basic things were omitted (at least I think so). For example, bathrooms have a strictly needed size but not comfortable. If the rooms are shared the logical thing is that people change clothes in the bathroom but there is no room to do that. There's only one coat rack inside the toilet room and one in the shower. There is no place to put the bathroom implements or a support, just outside by the sinks. The only bathroom properly furnished was for people with reduced mobility, it was only one.
The room that touched me had the beds too close to each other so what should be a "hallway" was very uncomfortable and equally to climb up to the upper beds.
Breakfast is self-service and is very varied, I liked that too, they even had fruit and juice, which not many have.
The common areas are very spacious and very well furnished.
The location is good, close to the Metro and buses. All very easy to take.

Awesome place! This hostel is the best place to stay at in Barcelona if you're looking for great location, cleanliness, helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere. I spent 3 nights and really enjoyed my time there — I was able to finally get some sleep (after my journey in Morocco) and also, the hostel was a good place to work from. The terrace is brilliant, I loved it! The common area is great as well.

Especially liked the privacy with curtains for the bunk beds. In a super convenient location, and the hostel is very new and clean!

The place is nice, the air conditioning is in the rooms, the friendliness is there and it's clean. The staff are lovely and indicate good places to eat… it answers all questions at any time.

Great place. When you think of hostel, what springs to mind is not the most nicest of places, but this hostel is great for the seating area/tv room for everyone and the terrace is so nice! Go check it out.

Great place, they have a large living room and well furnished. Staff are always available and kind. Bathroom are much cleaner that I expected, really satisfied. The terrace is also looking very good. The only complain are beds squeaking too much! Even lifting a finger made too much noise…

Cozy and pretty. The hostel is clean and staff is very nice!

The location is very good. The common spaces are pleasant, the patio is spacious and has chairs, tables and loungers. The kitchen is well equipped and just as the courtyard is available for use until the 11pm. The beds are comfortable, although the room I got from four people was narrow and uncomfortable if you have to organize with your suitcase or purse. Once you have checked out you can continue using the facilities, except the rooms, until the 11pm.

The beds are pretty good but I had problems with my locker as the padlock that I brought is supposed to be very small, and could be opened easily. The solution I got was to rent a padlock of them which was worth €8 plus a deposit of €5. When I went to bathe around 22:30 the water went out frozen. It had turned off the heater, so Q I had to wait 30 minutes to be able to bathe. The terrace closes at 23:00 and the living is a hell of the heat it does. The kitchen also closes at 23:00 so you have to hurry if you're eating late. And the worst of it is that the Wi-Fi sucks!

The staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeable, the hostel was extremely clean and finished to a high standard, and it was generally a fantastic place to stay! The hostel seemed to be aimed at quieter people so there wasn't any noise or loads of people coming back at all hours, which was perfect for my sightseeing trip. I enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and I was able to keep my hire bike up there for added security. Situated within about 2 min of Diagonal Metro station so easy to get to aswell. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Barcelona :)

I am a student from the United States studying abroad and doing some traveling. This hostel was the best hostel I have been to across Europe. The hostel was very clean, friendly staff, great location, comfortable beds, and good location. I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a hostel in Barcelona.

The staff is very friendly. The facilities are good. The breakfast is adequate. I recommend it because it is located near several tourist spots of the city.

Very nice hostel with a nice rooftop terrace but very noisy if you get a room next to the kitchen or living room. They say they close the kitchen at 23:00 but I heard noise at 2:00am, 05:00 am etc. If you are planning to get a bit more than usual sleep … go elsewhere. Breakfast is the same every morning and not much to choose from. The best thing is the location and the friendly staff. Also, if you go in the cold months, there is only air con as heating which I don't fancy too much.

Lovely. Staff very knowledgeable and gently make fun of you in order to get you to open up and feel comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed the stayed. Was very hot one evening and bought a fair amount of water from the front desk the staff member showed concern for my well-being which was lovely.

I stayed at over 8 different hostels this past winter throughout Europe and this hostel was for sure on par with all the good ones. The bathrooms were clean, the beds were clean, the Wi-Fi was reliable, the staff was very nice and helpful with touring Barcelona, there were easy access power outlets at night (definitely not always available at hostels), and there were many other young travelers throughout the hostel. This place had a good vibe, was located very close to the metro station and actually within walking distance of many tourist spots. I would recommend this place.

Still staying here but everything is clean and organised. The bed is comfy and private, location is great (though a little hard to find) just off the Diagonal metro stop. The terrace is lovely. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.
