Generally a nicely appointed hotel with several little items not up to speed. Staff friendly and genuinely apologetic when things go wrong. Breakfast buffet is first rate and location is ideal. Too many little details gone awry to merit more stars.

Be careful to learn ahead of time what your booked room will look like and where it is located in the building. After seeing photos and reviews by others of large and comfortable rooms, I had to wonder if we are talking about the same hotel. We had specifically asked for a quiet room. Our room, which was pricier than the large, lovely room we booked in Rome, was literally only slightly larger than the bed and fronted the street and, despite being several floors above, it was the noisiest and most disappointing hotel or motel we have ever stayed in in 60+ years of travel. Raucous traffic noise, honking horns and engines revving was almost continuous, people yelling and music blaring continued into the late night and renewed again in the early morning. Very disappointed and my first ever negative review.

Good location. Easy walk to the main attractions. There is a supermarket nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. It is a little refreshing repair. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning is quality.

Rooms are far too clairvoyant and noisy. Through the walls, you really hear everything. The rooms are cleaned in the early morning. The night is then over. Extreme noise level!
The mattresses are very hard.
Even breakfast absolutely doesn't suit a 4 star hotel.

Great location, near the Gothic Quarter and also near a metro station which is really convenient. Rooms are nice and big enough, they are also clean and staff is friendly. We arrive before the check in time and they store our luggage while the room was ready so we were able to walk around the city while the room was ready!

Watch out for sensitive ears, which says close to the center, says car noise.

This regular… they were wrong in the room… but the rest well. The slippers courtesy is very good… The bath gel smells phenomenal.

Hotel in the center. Convenient as a location. Cleanliness of the rooms poor. The first day they did not make the room. The second day they made the bed, but the bathroom was exactly how we had left it in the morning.

A very nice hotel with a central location a few steps from the Metro stop. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is really good and caters to all tastes. Only downside: The room was not clean well, as you would expect from a 4 star.

Very noisy, especially the rooms that overlook via Laietana. The best: Price and location.

It is an old Hotel, in the rooms you hear a lot of noise, the room 201 is the worst, next to the elevator, you will not be able to sleep. Breakfast not included with a small variety. The Jaume I Station is a yellow line and many transshipments must be made. The internet is fine. The cleanliness is excellent.

The hotel did not look like 4 * but I guess my opinion is quite in the room that we have been given that it looked as if we had paid half because it left a lot to be desired. It was on the sixth floor, with very high windows with no possibility of seeing the street and the blinds that had to darken was in some bad state. The bathroom had quite a few details of little care. Regarding the restaurant staff, I found it unpleasant or just neutral in the case of reception.

Very good hotel but this close to the unions and the national Police. So these days there are problems on that street, and it shows that it is half empty.

Nice place. Comfortable room and friendly service, however our room got robbed and the staff didn't seem particularly concerned or take it seriously. Be careful and use the safe for everything.

Right in the center and easy to come back for a n afternoon sleep when its too hot outside. Friendly staff. Breakfast was all industrial items not even a single dish was freshly made in the kitchen, Just avoid it and there are plenty of options around. The hydromasseur shower didnt even work, just the normal shower but was good.

The location of this hotel is amazing, close to the cathedral, beach, shopping, restos, and tour bus stop. The staff were also great. These are the only two reasons why it is getting 3 stars. I was quite unimpressed that the bedsheets were not changed daily. We had a drink spill one night and came back to the same soiled sheets. This is after leaving a 5-10€ per day tip for the maid. Unacceptable.

Average rooms are small hotel does not have bar and road is very busy so hard to get asleep also you can't control the a/c it's on or off.

The hotel is actually decent and nice and in a good location. The problem is there is very strong and toxic air freshener pumping through the entire lobby. It is really a gross, chemical smell which does not belong in the lobby. I asked nicely for them to turn it off during my stay as it brings on migraines. They refused. So I would not recommend them because they use strong unnecessary chemicals in the lobby nor did they really seem to care for my request.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my wife and no kids. The hotel is located in a good spot, nearby the metro and Born neighborhood. The staff was gentle and supportive. It is also close to Las Ramblas street and the Port Vell. We walked quite a lot and the location was definitely helpful. The breakfast was well-served, spacious and very few people in the weekend we stayed. What I disliked was the noise from the metro, I could hear every train until they stop working about 1:00 am. The bathroom cleanliness and the room could be improved. I had the impression this was not a priority in this four-star hotel, which is strange. So my review of 3 stars is based mostly on the noise and cleanliness.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Appalling and incompetent staff and management, lax security! Will not come back! We had a traumatic experience staying at this hotel, with our bags and valuables stolen from the hotel reception. The management of this hotel is definitely not worthy of 4 stars. Even though the whole incident was captured on CCTV footage, the incompetent management staff took a long time before reviewing the footage, and was not forthcoming in providing information on the theft. This has resulted in many complications and trips to the police station. In addition to trying all methods to shirk responsibility for compensating lost items, they even charge 25EUR deposit for using the room safe. I have lost all faith in this hotel's management and handling of incidents. DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL! Lastly, the facilities are a bit dated, and the toilet in both of our rooms are cramped behind a pillar which a normal person will barely fit in.
