We stayed here for 3 nights. From the outside it seems a little down for the time being, but inside it is super modern. The staff are very friendly and anxious to keep the rooms clean and spacious. The breakfast is sufficient and there is something for every taste. The pool on the roof terrace is beautiful, although it is quite small. Centrally located, most of the sights are within walking distance. Recommended.

Quality hotel in a great neighborhood. Next to the Arc de Triomf and the neighborhood near the hotel is filled with local restaurants, bars, and historic sites. Less touristy than some areas of Barcelona, which I enjoyed. The rooftop pool, although small (as all rooftop pools are in Barcelona), provides a great view of the skyline. Oh, and the hotel staff were great as well. I don't think I'd stay anywhere else when I'm in Barcelona.

Hotel located in a strategic area near the Arc de Triomphe where there is access to the metro and also the possibility of walking to the park absolutely not to be missed.

This has been one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The rooms were very clean, the bed was huge and I’ve never slept on pillows so comfy! The pool area was fantastic! The photos don’t do it justice! Lots of comfy chairs to sunbath on and really clean too! I didn’t have breakfast but the snack time between 5-11 is a great idea! You can get coffee tea and some lovely snacks to eat too! The staff were brilliant! There was some maintanece work going on near my room and when I called to ask how long it would be going on for they did not hesisits to suggest I moved room and even upgraded me too! They allowed me to check in early, this cannot be guaranteed but they did their best and special mention to VICTOR who was just a Star from the start of my stay to the end! 10/10 customer service! Can you tell I enjoyed my stay!? Honestly I will definitely stay in one of your other hotels again! Thank you! Chanel.

Spent 4 nights in this lovely little hotel and loved everything about it. Rooms were very clean, modern and spacious. Very comfy bed. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Pool on the roof is amazing. Free tea/coffee and snacks from 5pm till 11pm was excellent. Great location with lots of great bars and tapas places about.

The reception was very nice and I found a room clean, silent and very comfortable. The bathroom is big and I had access to the pool in the terrace and to a free buffet during the day. For the moment the best hotel I found in Barcelona.

Good time. Friendly helpful staff and the breakfast buffet was excellent. They also have a snack reception in the evening which was nice. The restaurant across the street was very good.

A perfect hotel site to visit the city of Barcelona was quite centrally located in a very touristy area and the hotel has a perfect facilities despite being in very busy street to the rooms barely reach noises from the outside which makes a site very Comfortable breakfast is very very complete and today very varied if you hit the price a very recommendable hotel.

This quiet and peaceful hotel is located near the arch of Triomf and close to everything on foot. Ideal for people who like to walk the cities. The service is efficient, there is a restaurant and a bar, but we did not go there. We didn't take advantage of the pool either. In short, Barcelona is so sublime that the hotel is only a place to sleep and I must say that on our first night we slept 13 hours…

On the door step was arc de triomph — and the area was buzzing. Really easy to get in and around barcelona with this central location. Rooftop pool was small but only really used it once — 30min walk to the beach so went there. The gardens/park was a great experience with live music and lively environment. Breakfast was standard continental, but staff were very helpful. Would encourage tourists to stay here as such a convenient comfortable hotel — dont expect too much from hotel other than a bed and breakfast but otherwise great stay!

Comfortable, quiet, central and cosy Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. From mid-afternoon they offer a selection of drinks and snacks free of charge for guests in the cafeteria downstairs.

All right, although some of the stars are taken by the situation.

Very clean, good atmosphere, and central Gelergen.

Extra breakfast. BCP bcp of choice of all kinds (charcuterie, cheeses, juices, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, etc…). Room and bathroom OK. Cleanliness not nickel. Wifi requiring registration via Facebook with obligation to give your email and automatic registration has ads. In short, ashamed. Ah, and could not register without FB, they disabled the option.

Excellent service, great hotel. Free snacks all you can eat snacks in the afternoon. Open access rooftop pool. Bottle of water in the rooms. Great location. The breakfast is amazing.

I love the way this hotel smells, which might sound weird. There is a rainfall shower head in addition to the normal shower head, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our room had a view of the courtyard, which was lovely actually. We spent a few days at the pool sunbathing! The only thing I'm not 200% pleased about is that the pool water was MUCH too cold to swim in. Even on an 80°F day we could only put our feet in for a vouple of minutes. But there was ample room to sunbathe, the view is FANTASTIC, and we were almost always the only ones up there. The staff were all very helpful, and answered all of our (many) questions. There isn't complimentary breakfast, but they did have complimentary snacks that could serve as a meal from 2-11pm. Think like sandwiches, bratwurst, potatoes, fruit, salads, dessert, and Nespresso. AND the location was absolutely perfect. A literal block from the Arc de Triomf, smack in Born, right in the Gothic Quarter, excellent food any way you turn — we were in love.

Stayed for 3 nights late Sept 2017. One word — EXCELLENT! Superb location, very friendly staff, great rooms and wonderful service. HIGHLY recommend. We stayed at a Airbnb property for 1 week earlier in our trip which was WAY more expensive per night than Hotel Catalonia p/n — wished we found this place earlier! Superb!

Big rooms with great bathrooms. Very clean and in a good location. Free snacks available at the bar in the afternoon/evening. Would recommend.

Great hotel and staff. Very accommodating and close to all major sites in Barcelona. Within walking distance to Placa de Catalunya, Arc Triumph and shopping.

Good Rooms Pool itself is small but nice surrounding area. Food and Drink in hotel is very expensive but many shops and restaurants nearby. Wi-Fi is terrible and there is only 1 socket in each room which isn't next to the bed.

Stayed in a two level suite room with a large terrace. Spacious and comfortable. Exceptionally nice neighbourhood, with the loveliest little plazas all around. Only real negative was a very noisy air con. Fix that, and the place is perfect.

Great location fantastic room with huge bed, friendly (English speaking) staff. Lost a star because bar closed at 11 pm and we couldn't get a night cap.

Very good hotel located in the old part of Barcelona, the rooms are well kept, the prices full are not very cheap (I stayed for work).

Really enjoyed our stay here. My gf bags were lost by our airline and on arrival the staff were super supportive and reassuring for us, they gave us some welcome drinks and a room upgrade which was nice and eased our bag frustration. They informed us as soon as they arrived. The hotel smells really pleasant, there are lavender plants around. Room was large and very clean with a fantastic bathroom. There is a small pool on the roof too which is a nice place to chill in the morning. Location is fantastic, right next to Arc De Triomph, Metro and Tram very close and also loads of good food places on your doorstep (taco alto and elsa Y Fred in particular) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in future.

Horrible hotel. Extremely small rooms that smell of smoke. My bead at home was larger then the whole room.

An impeccable staff, rooms of high quality.
Externally the building is not very nice but it is located close to the large train station to the North of Barcelona, to few hundred meters of the Arc Triomfale metro and the historic district of the city.
The staff is welcoming, kind, caring and not hesitate to advise you for your visits.
Only pitfall, we must speak a good English because the french is not really mastered.
Hotel 4 stars has a budget say reasonable in winter.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The rooms are nice and priced well, the hotel was well positioned near a metro stop, a lively Park and the Gothic quarter. The staff we always helpful and attentive. The only complaint would be the noise outside when bins were being collected at 3am, but it is in a city… If you can I would request an inward facing room (facing the courtyard).

The hotel is very good and the rooms are very apañadas. Swimming pool at the top. The only bad thing is that you touch a room of the first floors so that you can hear the street and the noise.

Nice but not quite 4 stars. Friendly staff. Our room wasn't refreshed and charging extra for a (continental) breakfast is a bit mean. A good 2 star up the road doesn't do that. BUT the pool on the roof makes this a great spot for some much needed lazy hours recharging. So all in all OK.

1 idyllic week in this hotel very well located for access to public transport. The staff is friendly and answered all of my requirements. N pool is not very big but enough to refresh and swim and is very clean. The room was very spacious with shower and bath. The household is well done. Very nice restaurants and a small price in the vicinity of the hotel

OK, but not worth the price. First of all, don't stay here if you are a light sleeper: Hotel Catalonia Princesa has extremely thin walls. You can hear almost everything that happens in adjacent rooms and the corridor. I happened to see three rooms while I was there, and this was the case for all three. Otherwise, the rooms were OK. They weren't out of this world, but they were clean, neat and comfortable. They do often have unusual layouts, if that bothers you. For example, bathrooms often have two showers on opposite sides of the bathroom (one free-standing, another over the bath) and one room I saw had an extremely deep hallway to the room. I also saw a room that supplied cold and hot water through the wrong taps. I have no idea how that went by without being fixed. Also, while I'm talking about temperature, I stayed here during early to mid December and the hotel was quite cold. Not freezing, but not warm either. The televisions are small CRT screens, though that might not bother you. After all, you want to see Barcelona right!? Well the hotel is very well placed to do that. It is right next to the Arc de Triomf, which is itself only a short walk from Parc de la Ciutadella, Barceloneta (beach) and the city centre. Breakfast is buffet style and it's OK, but not amazing. It has the basics and everything tastes fine but. It's just not of a higher standard. This might help you understand what I mean: a bowl of gummi bears was available amongst the buffet.
