Ganbara Hostel - Self Check In Hostel

I've defintely been to nicer hostels. The staff is nice and helpful, and the bar is also good. The main problem, though, is that everything at Ganbara hostel is cramped. There is very little space for anything. In the kitchen/breakfast buffet area, everybody is stepping on each other's toes. The room I was in was not much better. The toilet and shower area was not too large either, and could have been cleaner. Breakfast was wholesome, but really nothing special. If you get a good price for your rooms, it's okay to stay here. In any case, don't expect too much.

Cozy, well-groomed place. Breakfast is included, eat as much as you want (tea, coffee, milk, fruit, bread, cereal…), shower.

Super nice cheap well located.

I have never been to a Hostel but I am told they are not as nice as this one. Awesome group of people there when I stayed except for this one guy running his mouth because I was an American visiting and supporting his economy.

Very nice hostel located next to the old town and just a step away from the Metro. All the services you can expect from in hostel on a certain level at a more than interesting price. Totally recommended.

Very convenient and well located, but lack longer cabinets if you wear clothes that have to hang and can not wrinkle.

Apart from those folk who cannot follow simple instructions written in three languages, like, turn off the light after finishing, it's as good as it gets.

Was already 2 times in this hostel it is just great, great staff, great kitchen and nice chill room.

Amazing location, right near the beautiful old town of Bilbao. Nice staff too and a nice relaxed vibe.

Really enjoyed this hostel. Has everything you'd expect from a hostel these days. They even have longboards that you can borrow! There's a really nice path beside the river that you can cruise along. There was a band from England staying who were doing a tour and lots of other interesting characters. Five minutes walk away from the old town part of the city which had some really cool bars and places to eat, beer and pintxos went down a treat. Thanks guys!

Great stay… staff treated us lovely, clean rooms with lockers which was a plus and perfect location in the old town near all the restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay again!

Very friendly stuff, clean rooms and bathrooms, coffee, tea and cookies all day and for free, TV with netflix access in the community area and a reasonable price — I couldn't ask for more. :)

Nice setting and good atmosphere but… The bunks are spartan and very uncomfortable.

My stay was really great. Well, would like to have paid less, but there was a festival happening, so perhaps prices were bigger because of that. Nevertheless, I liked my stay. Staff is really friendly (they took my huge bike in) and the location, and breakfast, and facilities are all OK. I guess, it might be even the best hostel in Bilbao. By the way, ask for help at the reception where to go to eat! :)

In the middle of Casco Viejo, a beautiful hostel with comfy beds and friendly staff. Breakfast is included.

The hostel was situated in the old town, providing a great selection of entertainment and food in the vicinity. The staff were friendly and beds relatively comfortable. Breakfast was okay and the common areas were spacious and well equipped.

What you can expect of a hostel and to price very affordable.

Very happy with the atmosphere we had great there and we could also learn a lot of new people. I liked very much the location since it was in the old but without being in the middle of all the nitty gritty.
Recommended.

Very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the hostel, in addition are very nice, the atmosphere makes you want to return, and the party is there around very well highly recommended for travel in Group and to know well the atmosphere of Bilbao.

There are only two words I need to use to describe this hostel — BED BUGS! I woke up itchy, turned on the lights, the biggest bed bugs I have ever seen were running all over the walls! When I raised the issue with the guy on duty he said "yes we have been fighting these pests all summer". He then said — "what do you want me to do about it? " Finally offering me a bed in another room. But a quick search in there and more BED BUGS! I ended up trying to sleep on the couch in common room. And never once did the guy offer me a refund or anything other than annoyance that I had raised the matter. AVOID this place.

Good location, near the old town of Bilbao. The facilities are new and kitchen and common areas are well-equipped. Everything was pretty clean. The shared rooms have individual lockers. In addition the breakfast included, this pretty well for the price that costs the room. The reception staff are also quite majete. Bearing in mind its reduced price, highly recommended.

I would warmly. Rooms and other spaces clean, good service, modern and cheerful decoration, good location also. Beside the hostel passes the train that listening is a little, but didn't bother me at all. A single negative thing: consulted by mail if there were empty beds and not answered. However, a positive experience.
