Worst hostel, dirty bathrooms. Worst part. WORST part. I booked through the booking for 3 nights. Wanted to cancel the last night. But the staffs asked me to pay for 3 nights first and then to refund me the last one in cash (for convenience they suggested). I NEVER got the refund… I DONT RECOMMEND to others for theis dishonesty.

Pros: Perfect location, good transit connections, clean, and proper internet. Cons: no wash/dryer, kitchen basically is a microwave and a toaster. Building is old, so bit noisy.

Perfect location! Close to the beaches and main plaza. Bathrooms were okay… a little dirty… did not have the environment to make friends in the hostel.

The room was big enough but wasn't completely clean, girl at checkin was nice.

Is very well, if that is what you are looking for. Shelter without room service. You can store your things inside the room. There is a kitchen for if you want to stay several days and not spend a lot of money. It is cheap, around 25 euros per night with Booking and is in front of the city Hall in the area of "pintxos and pots".

Critique: Bed bugs: I had itchy bites all over me after just one night. Was advised to change the bed for the second night, got more there too. Not a nice-and-cozy place, as are some of the other "urban house" hostels. Somehow half-equipped kitchen. There are cups, plates, fridge, micro, a kettle and a toaster. But no pans, no pots, no cooking plates, no oven. Cooking pasta gets very creative. On the positive side: friendly and nice staff with good English skills. Excellent location. Just 4 beds in a room. No two-level beds. Great bathroom/shower facilities. Very low price compared to other places Overall: An ok option for a low budget.

A hotel floor, hence comes the name of Urban. "Houses" from 5 independent rooms with two shared bathrooms, common living room and Wi-Fi. I just never get used to the pillows of hotels, but I have not had much problem sleeping here. Recommended!

I stayed for 11 nights in February 2015 and I'm satisfied with all facilities, the staff and the location. A cheap and comfortable place where you meet a lot of interesting people.

A very nice place where you have access to all amenities including a washer and dryer, and located 5 minutes from the area of bars and beach.

Central, nice place, close to everything :) nice people in the reception. Close to beach. Something I did not like was the showers. But it was the only thing.

During the film festival of San Sebastian I stayed at the Urban House Hostel of the Plaza. Guipuzcoa, 2. The room is a scam, do not correspond to the type of room that I booked by internet with bathroom inside the room; the bathrooms are shared. The room during your stay not cleaned. The web page is not up-to-date. The pictures of the rooms do not correspond with the room assigned to you. Disappointing. Stay at another chain Hostel non-Urban House. The price is very expensive in relation to the type of room that you offer. The information is wrong, it is a hoax.

A prohibitive rate for the worst benefits encountered in a hostel.
Bedding from another age, non-existent clean (dirty sheets, no household in the rooms and the bathrooms), the siphon of shower was clogged, filthy toilets, no SOAP, no of toilet paper and no visible for the household.
Add to that the staff in charge of hospitality was a volunteer one may legitimately wonder where our money goes!
It's simply a scam to tourist.
In addition to the duo rooms you won't be in the main building on the square but at 600 m away and of course this information is not specified when booking…
A negative note would be required for this kind of establishment.
I was seriously disgusted at the sight of the room. The toilet was blocked and full of pot and so was the breakfast which was full of sand. The place looked as though nothing had been cleaned IN A VERY LONG TIME. I have stayed in much CLEANER places for a LOT LESS MONEY. It's a disgrace to ask for 60 euros a night to stay in a pot hole. IT would have been better in a cardboard box in the streets of San Sebastian.

I don't even want to give this place one star. So nasty. The showers don't work and the beds had been slept in MULTIPLE times without being washed (I found several hairs). And to top it off this place isn't even cheap…

The atmosphere pleasant and dynamic are the two strengths with the location of the hotel. However after my visit, the team is committed to send back me as soon as my driver's license that didn't me was over when you check out. I expect it always two months after.

Try, kindness, cleaning, disposal location. Are you cannot ask more!

I've been t urban house for a few days now, and i've really enjoyed my stay. The staff is all very helpful and very friendly, it´s in a great location, gives a good breakfast for a hostel, and has a very welcoming, fun feel. The main area is very clean and very nice, and the rooms and showers are good for a backpacker´s hostel. I can see that they are doing some remodeling in the main area, all the rooms, and the bathrooms and making lots of improvements. I´m sure it´s crazy in the summer, but it seems like they´re turning a new leaf. Will definitely come back!

I read a lot of the reviews after being at Urban House and am really surprised. Apparently it was in bad shape in the past but I have been having a great experience while being here. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not everyone speaks Spanish but they try very hard and are here to learn. There seems to be some improvements going on as it is clean and I sleep well. I defiantly will be coming back to this hostel my next trip around.

I have been travelling for nearly 11 months and this has been by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. Location: the location was fantastic. San Sebastian is an amazing city and the hostel was located a short walk from the beaches, old town and shops. Bathrooms: absolutely appalling. Imagine a thick layer of mold coating the walls to the point it's literally pitch black in some places. I dropped something in the shower room and when I picked it up it was covered in mold. There was no hot water. On the first night we found a used tampon shoved behind the radiator. Three nights later it hadn't been removed. Bedrooms: There were cracks on the walls and mold once again. The beds were creaky and uncomfortable and the room smelt like cheese. Most powerpoints were broken and the door was complicated to lock, to the point that people kept breaking in and trying to get into my bed. On the third night sixteen people were checked into our twelve bed dorm. People who had booked months in advanced were forced to sleep in the park across the road. There was breakfast, which is nice I suppose, but there's not enough cutlery and plates or room in the breakfast area. Staff: the staff were very friendly but the way the hostel was run limited how helpful they could be. They aren't paid either. This would be okay in any other hostel, but considering the money saved isn't going towards making the hostel actually livable, the question is raised as to what the owners are doing.

60 euros per night (breakfast to make yourself included). I went with my girl to sleep one night to San Sebastian. Them rooms private them have in the calle Fermín Calbetón, in the part old. It is an apartment with several rooms. Well soundproofed to the street. Kitchen a bit messy and not very new appliances. Pretty bad mattress and pillow the truth. Our room was connected to another by a glass that let the light so when I woke up the of to the side, we also had to make them. Also hear everything. I imagine that for young people that will just sleep after a night of partying is okay. In all other cases, not recommended.

El mejor hostel. Perfect for backpackers, and great activities.

The best hostel in San sebastian. Close to the beach and city center. I´ll come back.
