Commodore Suites, SureStay Collection by Best Western

After being stranded in st Maarteen 3 extra days, my initial hotel was booked so I had to pivot fast. I spent two nights here and the apartment provided me everything I needed. It’s not a resort, but it is near so many eateries. There’s a rooftop, laundry on site and a supermarket downstairs. I loved how cozy it was and the ability to walk to get something to eat.

Stayed for 3 nights. Good location for the hotel shuttle to pick you up. There’s a grocery store that is attached to the building. The staff is pleasant for the most part. There is no breakfast that is served at this hotel. So if you reserved that off Expedia, I recommend that you do not select that or you’re wasting money. The front desk informed me that if you want breakfast, you can get it by purchase, at the market garden, the grocery store attached. It’s safe to park here, security guard monitors the area and there’s a casino and bars, clubs nearby.

The location is great to walk to a number of places in Simpson Bay. This hotel is very basic, we selected it due to limited availability on NYE.
Upon arrival the sheets were stained (reddish brown stain that was indecipherable), other stains on the pillowcases, dirty towels (hairs and stains) and the sheets did not cover the bed exposing the mattress cover. (I wish I’d taken more pics. ) They didn’t have any more pillowcases and sheets because of some issue with their laundry service. We were offered a smaller room and ended up taking the sheets off the bed in the smaller room rather than downgrading. We never got hot water in our shower even after the plumber came out. And the buffet was unappetizing with cross-contamination of pork and the coffee was burnt tasting. The staff members tried to help within the scope of their control but it made for a bad experience.
Might be ok if you know what you’re getting into but the experience wasn’t good.

My recent stay at Commodore Suites was like a trip back in time. I used to live accross the street.
The staff, my room, the roof top amenities, the buffet and its proximity to lots of fun stuff made more wonderful memories. I'll be back!

While the hotel is located in the most central and perfect location around all the best food outlets and night spots…. The hotel itself as well as their policies needs some revision, First of all our towels were not changed in a timely manner, on the 3rd day of our stay we had to go and ask for towels and for the garbage to be taken out, as well as for more soap bars for our bathroom, even tho we were not there all day that day…. Also on two mornings we woke up to scrubbing of the lobby floors infront or room door, that was a bit inconsiderate as no notice was given that would be taking place, an employee literally was scrubbing the floors with soap water and a broom early morning…apart from that the rooms were clean and spacious just as described, the pool an views from the top deck was really nice nonetheless.

Good location. The hotel needs maintaince. The room had a musty smell. And it could be a bit neater. The employees were the best though very service minded, kind and ready to help. The location is perfect and the supermarket on the ground floor is a plus.

We enjoyed our stay at Commodore Suites. The staff is wonderful and very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are clean and just as advertised. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very clean and smartly designed. The rooftop balcony is lovely as well. It is not directly on the beach yet a short walk away and we felt comfortable and safe for our entire stay. We highly recommend! There is a market below the hotel and many highly recommended restaurants close by. Great visit!

We stayed at the Commodore Suites for 9 nights in Feb.
Pros — it’s very close to Kimsha Beach.
— very nice staff.
— room did not have hairdryer — asked reception and one was provided.
— dish soap provided when asked for.
— beach towels provided when requested.
— kettle wasn’t working and quickly replaced.
-the rooftop patio areas are lovely.
Cons — rooms needed a few repairs and dusting (curtains hanging from the rail)
— room was quite dark (dark paint)
— no balcony (we knew this — but I didn’t realize how much I would want one)
— the kitchenette really doesn’t have much in the way of supplies.
— there are very few outlets to plug your electronics into.
— the in room safe is mounted on the floor in an open closet. A key must be requested from reception and it’s awkward to get into (on the floor)
— there is not enough places to hang swimsuits etc to dry.
It’s in a very central area to beaches and restaurants. I would say the hotel would be well suited for a couple of nights.
On a positive note, you wouldn’t find a nicer staff anywhere.

Super comfortable and convenient location. We made a last minute booking because our flight got cancelled, and the a taxi driver recommended Commodore Suites Hotel. The staff Arela and shanila was super friendly and helpful. My room was very modern, clean and cool AC. We love the rooftop with jacuzzi and I must say the view was captivating. Literally you don't need a car. I was surprised that supermarket had wide variety of goods and fresh produce.
Certainly I will be returning for a longer stay!

A super nice centrally located place to stay when in Sint Maarten.
Great place, decent prices, friendly personnel, comfortable beds and super clean bathroom!
The free drinks on the top floor terrace are a nice attention too. I will definitely be back at Commodore Suites on a next business trip.

Hotel is centrally located in Simpsonbay. This boutique hotel has 28 all suites with kitchens.
3 minute walking distance to Simpsonbay beach/Kim Sha and many international restaurants, local bars and nightlife.
On the ground floor is Market Garden specialty supermarket with gluten free and lactose free products — breakfast pastries and specialty coffees. Hotel staff is hospitable.

My wife and I spend our Anniversary there and it was one of our best anniversary we ever had, Dinah and Yasmin went beyond and above to make that special day as romantic as it could be. The room was well done which surprise my wife with one of the most romantic setting. I would recommend this hotel to anyone regardless what your budget is.

I had the most amazing experience here at commodore suites. The staff was so accommodating and helpful it made my stay so comforting and enjoyable. The place was very clean and extremely safe, I would recommend any of my friends and family to stay here! Food was phenomenal and the views were out of this world.

If only it was as good as the photos… I could have sworn she sprayed bug spray in the room right before letting us in, certainly was not air freshener. Our room was not cleaned well, corners have dirt, blue wall has dust on it, shower stinks like urine — everything could use a bleaching. DO Better! We loved the modern esthetic. Location is great market below is great — fine for one night.

Awesome service, allowed an early check in after a crazy couple days when we really needed a place to chill. They have an open bar from 4:30-6pm daily which is fun and super cute. The pools and tons are awesome and have a great view of the sailboats and yachts in the bay. Rooms are very nice and modern.
Perfect location.

We ended up here after American Airlines cancelled our flight home due to “weather-related” issues (we were headed to Charleston SC. Checked all the weather websites fir the Caribbean, Miami, Charlotte, NC as well as Charleston. No weather events at all). American left us with no assistance, but we managed to luck into Commodore Suites. What a lucky find. Room was spacious and clean. The room had a small kitchen which came in handy. The staff was warm, friendly and accommodating. And exceptionally courteous. There is a market on the ground floor that is well-stocked. Recommend highly!
