Magical island full of hidden treasures. We got engaged on this island on Whisper Beach. I can't wait to go back! for all staff & residents. Rebuild.

This is the best island I have ever visited, the views are beautiful, several small secluded beaches, wild horses everywhere and the food and culture was amazing. By far one of the best W resorts I have ever stayed in. Loved it!

Took me a while to write this. I didn't have enough to compare it to previously. The facility and grounds are amazing. I small towns and restaurants are also very relaxed and safe. I recently stayed at an all inclusive which I will never do again. It just reminded me how great the food was at the W. The tide was a little rough and the drink were pricey for a place that you would expect to drink at all day. Best part was renting a Jeep and stocking up my room with our own boos and snacks.

It's the most luxurious property on the island but is close until october 2018 after Hurracaine Maria.

Lovely new Starwood chain hotel on the island of Vieques. Lovely design, great views and a wonderful pool next to the lounge area. The island is famous for its bioljuminiscentnym lake-one of the two in the world. There are jeep tours to and from the hotel.

We loved our stay, the property is beautiful, accommodations were absolutely perfect. The food was delicious, beautiful pool, gorgeous beaches. The staff was always friendly & kind. What a fabulous property! Hope to visit again soon.

Literally the best stay i've ever had at any property. Ever. The beauty of the island alone would be enough but the outstanding service by the staff and remarkable design of the place were amazing. I highly recommend this for couples but it's family friendly as well. If you need a place to just chill, this is the place. If you're active, take advantage of access to the other things on the island.

The Good: We have stayed here for quick getaways from San Juan, and when we have work in Vieques, the hotel itself has Beautiful Grounds, Amazing Views, a solid staff and decent rooms (but becoming a bit warn for our taste). The Ugly: The tourism (board) in PR needs to figure out a solution to the ports on this island, as getting to Vieques has become so horrendous, it's not even worth the pain it takes to get there. The ferry system is so inept, it makes a traffic jam look organized, and no one one the island even knows how to respond… We, unfortunately, won't be back because of this… Fix the ugly, and VQS (and the W) would be a hotspot for sure…

This place was sooooo fancy I didnt feel at ease. Nicest resort I have ever stayed at. At the bar, if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.

Service is definitely a 5+ Staff is absolutely fabulous! Overall perfect score is tough… Only one restaurant makes variety difficult. The main gathering facility is small. Did I say the staff is phenomenal!

Wow, slice of paradise​. Everything is amazing. 3 pools, 2 beaches, restaurant and a spa. I would suggest this to anyone who wants a few quiet days on the beach. It is pricy, but well worth the extra.

Excellent service, room was very clean and beautiful. My only complaint is the bathroom area only has a mesh curtain and when you travel with family is a bit difficult for privacy, at least that was my room. But everything else was great.

It's quite the experience. Vieques offers a unique landscape and the property grounds make the most of it. Staff was helpful, courteous and truly accommodating. We arrived early and they graciously let us dive into pool and use all facilities. Also when we checked out we continued to use all facilities and were granted access to the gym were we got to bathe and change before our flight. One last note: the spa is money well spent. Looking forward to come back soon.

Enjoyed every minute of it. Getting there from the main island to the Vieques was a little struggle, but once at the W, the view took your breath away. The staff was very helpful, when they suggest something, follow thru they know what they are talking about… rented s Jeep for the day and explored the island. The carriabian side was fantastic secluded beaches the best! Did the Biolucent tour, on Kayaks again. Amazing. The guids are very knowledgeable… The water really lit up… My only regret is that 5 days is not enough… The locals are the best as well… Stopped and picked up a pizza on the way home from tour the best! I love the W and can't wait to go back!

It's definitely a beautiful place. Everyone was absolutely nice. The only thing was their restaurant closes at 10. So if you do the bioluminescent experience by the time you get back there's nothing to eat. Well their late night room service but even that wasn't that good. Next time I'll have to bring more snacks. It's a great experience in all.

The best place to spend an anniversary. Beautiful hotel. The best food of Puerto Rico by Chef Alex. Away Spa = the best couples massage. Totally the best place to relax and enjoy life. Would recommend the hotel to everyone. The General Manager was up and about at 6:30 am when I was getting coffee and late evening when we were having dinner. The place was spotless. The grounds were perfectly manicured. Can't say enough…

This is one of my favorite hotels in the whole wide world. It is a mix of cool, chic and tropical paradise all in one place. The best rates will be during the summer months. The spa is to die for with outdoor showers facing the ocean. The pools are also really nice (one for adults only and another for adults and kids). There are 2 private beaches as well and as with the pools there is one for adults only. The atmosphere is absolutely chill. There are various places thru out the hotel for you to lounge… you can even get served food no matter where you are at the hotel. I keep coming back year after year and will never get tired. There is access to all there is to do at the island via the concierge and there is free use of all the cayaks, boats and snorkel gear. Come here unplug and look really cool doing it.

Max was the best Concierge my wife and I have ever met at a hotel. We felt we were going to miss our flight from San Jaun back to Dallas, but he made sure we made it to SJU by booking us a quick plane back to Puerto Rico online in no time at all! Max even worked with our separate car rental company on Vieques Island by getting our jeep rental back to them, instead of my Wife and I having to drive all the way back over to their drop off location. Needless to say… Max was freakin awesome! So hopefully you will get to meet him if you go here. Dinner was fabulous at the restaurant which can be very romantic. Nenad was our server and he is very knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with fabulous customer service! I had the salmon which was top notch! Just wish we could have stayed longer, and because of the customer service we had… we will be back soon! Thanks again Max and The W!

This review is good the restaurant. Great view. Relaxed atmosphere. Pizza was surprisingly good albeit small. The spicy salad was surprising and decent. Our dessert took forever because our server disappeared, but the manager comp'd us our meal. Skip the banana bread dessert though it was not good.

Upgraded to a better suite with the beach right in front of the balcony. Fantastic view and world class services. Food is ok but little bit pricey. Front desk staff was very helpful!

Stunning property and a jewel in the Starwood assembly of hotels. Room was spectacular (go for a poolside or ocean side room if possible). Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent (albeit a bit pricey). If you're looking for a deal, the W isn't your place, but if you're looking to basque in luxury it certainly is. Pools are spectacular (especially the lava rock warm-tub with LED sparkle lights) and the resort has two lovely little private beaches (one of which was a phenomenal snorkeling spot; gear was included). The only caveat is that the establishment takes little to no responsibility for things happening with third-party vendors or services that are part of "island life" in Vieques. The Ferry from Farjardo is a hot mess (the hotel recommends flying in on a prop plane but we weren't too keen on that), taxi services can't always be relied on (and shut down completely after 10 or 11), ATMs are limited and run out of cash quickly, tour operators can cancel plans, etc. Our experience is that while the W was apologetic for these issues they weren't willing to go to bat for us in really rectifying them on our behalf, and sometimes we just had to wing it. For $450 a night a little more effort on their part to make things run smoothly would've been nice.

Tldr: don not rent a car with island car rental at hotel w. Hotel W on Vieques should be ashamed for partnering with Island Car Rental. It reflects poorly on them and their business that they allow a business with such shady practices as Island Car Rental operate on their premises. While the hotel itself looked beautiful from the brief glimpse I had, I am glad I stayed elsewhere due to the fiasco with Island Rental Car. I posted this review for Island Car Rental "I was very excited to rent a Jeep on Vieques, so I booked one well in advance of our trip. I had a confirmation number, email, and I had called myself to confirm my reservation. Once I got to Vieques I rented snorkeling gear, and was looking forward to driving to all the beaches and reefs around Vieques. Unfortunately once I got to Island Rental Car at Hotel W they refused to honor my booking. When I asked why the clerk mumbled something about the terms and conditions. I asked him to show me where and he could not point it out. I asked to speak with a manager, and he refused that as well. I then called their main number and hoped that they could sort out my issue, only to be told they would not be renting me a car that day. I am very disappointed in Island Car Rental, since we had to take taxis to where ever we wanted to go on Vieques. I strongly urge you to exhaust all other car rental options on Vieques, before you even consider renting a car with Island Car Rental. "

The W is relaxing, open, and unpretentious, in a nicely laid out space. The rooms, common areas, and restaurants are attractive and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had many excellent meals here, and a few on the island.

We went for breakfast and dinner. We had Rheana as our server for breakfast and she was excellent. Don't miss the guava pancakes. We had a great dinner experience also. Jose was our server and he was excellent. We did not stay there but the facility is beautiful and everybody was friendly. You get there around 4-5 PM and enjoy happy hour and free appetizers.

Beautiful pools and a nice beach, we found the staff very friendly and the service good in the restaurants. The food is good, portions a bit light for the prices but it was nicely prepared. The rooms are the problem, they are "extremely" dark and also not very clean, likely due to the darkness. Luckily we had good weather and didn't need to spend any time in the room, I can't imagine having to spend an evening or a portion of the day in the room, you can't see to read/pack/apply makeup, it's really quite brutal. They are also very poorly equipped, only 2 very small drawers in the closet for storage, and absolutely no extra counter space, we will not be back and would not recommend it at all.

Firstly, I just want to begin the review by saying I didn't get to spend much time as I missed the initial ferry, but I had a great time nonetheless. From the moment the "publico" (local taxi busses on the island) arrived on property, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. Me and my friends were greeted by Jorge, who was very friendly. We were checked in, given a quick tour of the property, invited to join in the Sunset Sip (free cocktail at sundown, every day, limited one per guest) and then taken to our room. The room was stunning, the property absolutely beautiful and the amenities very luxurious. We wanted to make it to our BioBay tour on time, so we tried to make it to the restaurant fast enough, but we as were seated and waited for our server, we realized there wasn't going to be much time. We decided we were going to leave, but Angel, our server, was extremely accommodating and went out of his way to encourage us to order appetizers and he would rush the order so we'd be able to make our tour on time with something in our stomachs. Angel was courteous, friendly and accommodating, and I really appreciated that considering it was our party that was being a little unreasonable. There were some panties from a previous guest left inside the armoire and when I advised the Welcome Desk of this, they were very apologetic and rushed to get it removed. Truthfully, I wasn't that upset by it, but I figured someone must be missing them.

Craphole. We went to pick up our car from Island rentals which we had previously booked online. When we got there they told us their system over booked and no vehicals were availble. They ruined our vacation and couldnt have cared less. I sensed some hostility towards americans by the employees. They seemed quite racist here. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel and rental place.

Best hotel ever! Everything was amazing and beautiful and the service is excellent! Best romantic vacation I've ever been on, and The W made it that much better! Definitely coming back soon.

Shame on W Hotel Vieques. Although I have heard wonderful things about this property, our flight was grounded due to Hurricane Cristobal and we weren't able to make it to the island from San Juan. All flights and ferries were cancelled. Despite there being no physical way to get to the island, the staff was not willing to rebook us for another weekend, offer us a credit or refund our money. Despite the location and amenities of a property, if the staff is ill equipped to treat guest with respect and empathy in such a situation, I don't believe it could be considered a luxury resort. They are just a poorly run business with enough funding to lease the Starwood name to become a W Hotel. Shame on them and shame on Starwood for not standing behind their brand when the local staff was condescending and unwilling to assist in our unique situation.

Its a lovely resort. Pictures can not do it any justice. I was there for a friend's wedding and the beach makes for beautiful pics. I would suggest to rent a jeep as soon as you make your reservation. We went during a holiday weekend and they were sold out. All the people that work there are super friendly and very helpful. The pool is hotness and it's truly a paradise.

Only came in for a sneaky drink for a couple of hours. Really nice pool+drinks+people+beach. Should be on your to do list for the island.

Upon Arrival the hotel appears to be amazing, the pool and beach are both beautiful. Rooms are spacious, however not cozy at all. The service is HORRIBLE at the resort. I would not return epically after taking an additional terrifying flight to arrive on the island. Drinks and food are both awful as well. I do not recommend this hotel.
