If you come to be close to everything this is the spot. Wife and I came here on (time share) so will be back to this area next time or close beautiful beach and plus Foxwoods casino opening soon right next door. We had the greatest view on our balcony.

What a rip off! I arrived 3 March 2022 only to find that the pool, jacuzzi, and grill are closed for renovations and the hotel restaurant is closed, supposedly for a private event. The room with ocean view is nice but not worth the $323 I’m paying per night when I can’t use all the amenities that were advertised. Please see the pictures I posted with this review. I also posted a photo of the functioning pool at the hotel next door, where I should have booked instead. I intend to talk to the manager on Monday when he returns. We’ll see how he handles my complaint.

Moldy, outdated rooms. Nothing ever open. Charging for unusable time. The new owner clearly has no care about the ppl, just money. I leave emails and messages for charges I shouldn't be charged and never get a response. Don't buy into their timeshare stuff, huge SCAM.

Very disappointed — they gave us four towel cards and then when we went to get towels they were out. Today they announced they are not giving out towels… Game room closed, no towels to the beach and overall skimpy.

The location is incredible. However you take a chance on the rooms. Some are renovated and some are not. If you get an unrenovated room, you will be met with undesirable conditions. Also, it’s a beach front property, however it could be utilized better. A suggestion is nice beach chairs and umbrellas like the El San Juan Hotel and Sonesta resorts offer. Re concierge, the biggest problem is the front desk. Again it’s hit or miss with the help you receive.

Since the new management took over it has been nothing but poor service, poor management of funds and promises unkept. We have been trying to reach anyone at this resort for 5 days with numerous emails and phone calls to no avail, after receiving an email with vague new protocols and ‘unavailability’ of our already payed room. We’ve tried to contact owner services/vacation club and no one ever answers. Considering we are current in our dues and special assessment fees, we find this very very concerning. 🤷‍♀️

Been coming here for over 20 years. I love its efficiency rooms. Kitchen are great. The ocean and pool view is beautiful!

Horrible hotel will not recommend this hotel room are dirty smells mildewy omg the worst the staff is very rude no security at night didn’t feel safe pool area need fixing just a run down place don’t waste your money or time.

Not only were towels unavailable when we went to the pool, but when we lost one towel card we were charged the ridiculous rate of $50.

Excellent rooms, maintenance supervisor and housekeeping service person to the 12th floor, excellent. However, it is not the building we see in his photos. It is a building that requires a lot of love and arrangements. The Guest parking lot is in terrible condition and low light at night. The entrance to the Hotel through the Lobby from the parking lot also needs remodeling, it seems that you are entering from the back of a restaurant, dirty, stained, lacking maintenance and painting. The best thing it has is the Lobby, that looks a lot like the photos. Successes! I hope you improve for the benefit of your Guests.

Rented through Airbnb and have had a great experience. Nice employees, coffee shop in lobby, nice pool (closes at 6 though 😒), walking distance to many restaurants, shops, markets, CVS etc, an AMAZING view of the beach along with all of the other amenities of a nice resort. Would def stay again!

Excellent location! Fantastic rent service through VRBO. Isabel is the BEST! My room was on the Penthouse… so I had the best view ever! Very close to the airport.

We stayed in one of the residences (vacation rental) so I can’t speak about the hotel rooms, but the building is nice and the staff is friendly. It would has beach access and is very convenient to restaurants, cvs, shops, etc. Our stay was during COVID restrictions, so the on site bar and restaurant were closed.

This is a hidden gem! Right next door to the El San Juan hotel and walking distance to the Ritz Carlton.
You get remodeled gym, lobby, pool and pool bar. The employees are outstanding!
Book here less expensively and feel like you’re at a 5 star resort!

Mare St Clair is the best ever hotel and hangout along Isla Verde Beach neighborhood in Carolina Puerto Rico. My favorite vacation spot.

Mare St. Clair Hotel your service has been horrible through this pandemic! Not only did I rebook my flight twice but now you guys have postponed your opening yet again! The vacation club owner Leslie Rivera said she cant accommodate me at another hotel and that it's not her business that I decided to book a flight when they're closed after I was told repeatedly that they were opening July 14th! No one notified me until I called the hotel personally! They sent me an email in english and spanish with two different dates as if I dont already read and write in both languages! For someone who's been coming to this hotel for over 25 years and joined the vacation club, spending a lot of money, I am appalled at the lack of accommodations!

Woke up even on a rainy day, to a beautiful view! Everything was beautiful about this place! Staff, room, bar, pool, food, everything was exceptional! We were accommodated immensely when arriving early from flights and cruises… they held our bags and let us enjoy the amenities while waiting for check in.

The staff is friendly, respectful and very kind, especially when they see me in need of help.

I do not recommend it, racist and selective staff in providing good customer service.

Great location! The beach at Isla Verde! The pool, sun deck and bar area well done and the lobby bar, store and game room are also nice. Great, friendly staff!

Wonderful staff beach n pool n bar tenders magnificent. Food amazing game room is fun the gym great. Parking a bit uncomfortable but other than that it was one of the best experienced of my life. My kids love it.

The hotel and its area are back in full operation since Hurricane Maria. Friendly neighbors, excellent security, clean rooms, great amenities, beautiful beach and pool.
I enjoy operating amateur radio from the balcony.
The rooms on the west side give the best ocean view and reception.

This place is so crappy and run down. It should have been condemned and shut down after the hurricane. The hallways they're nasty carpets and smelly just moldy, holes everywhere you can see where the wind went through the walls during the hurricane and they tried patching them up. It is not any type of Resort. The new pool closes at 7 pm come on what is that how are you going to Beach Resort the closes at 7 p. M. Not like the pools anything special, but how is it the pool was just redone and the pool lights are floating in the pool and none of the staff have any care or worry about it. The laundy facilities are just nasty, I have no words other than condemn the building! don't stay here run!

This hotel sucks. I have stayed in plenty of hotels both upscale and shady. Honestly you’re better off at a hotel that costs $50 a night. The carpet, bed, walls, curtains, and floor feel like they got rained on today. The room smells like mildew, the toilet is disgusting. There’s mold on the curtains. Best part? When I called the front desk asking to be switched to a new room they said they don’t have a single room open in the 16 story hotel. Definitely not worth the over $200 for a night that I spent on it. The outside and lobby are beautiful the. You get into the hotel and it’s run down, wet, and moldy. Crappy service, crappy rooms, crappy hotel.

As a longtime timeshare owner I am very unhappy with what is going on at esj. First, I completely understand the damages that happened here due to Maria and did not expect a completely smooth operation when I came this year. But after receiving letter after letter of all the “completed” upgrades to my unit and the hotel and to then arrive to a room that was not renovated at all, stinks of mold, non working tv, sliding door that gets stuck in locked position, sticky dishes and cabinets, and a stove that electric shocks me when I cook is unacceptable. I called a month before my arrival and was told everything was completed in my unit. NOTHING was done in my unit. The pool has not been completed as promised by letter and they are bussing us to another hotel, which is fine, but when I get my whole family ready to go to the pool, wait for the bus for over 20 minutes only for an esj employee who happened to walk by to inform us the pool is closed for the day it is very frustrating. No where is this posted and if he had not happened to walk by I would have waited even longer. Day two I call the lobby beforehand and they say pool is open, get all ready go down to lobby, wait 15 min and same thing all over again. Pool is closed. Try again at 2pm they tell me. Lobby says one thing, employees in front another. Typical lack of communication here between employees and employees to guests. The day I checked in I was harassed by an employee to sign up to see all the new changes at esj.

Great location, we loved our view and balcony. Great beach, we walked the entire length 1-2 times a day. Pool was being renovated and it looks like it will be awesome when it’s done. They were bussing guests to a nearby pool during renovation. We rented from an owner so we were not allowed to go to the other pool, which seemed silly and unfair. We enjoyed going to the lobby bar, Victor was a great bartender and offered lots of good conversation and ideas of places to visit.

I was there post Maria. The damage the hotel sustained was obvious, but they are doing an excellent job of fixing it. The view from the penthouse floor was spectacular! When I was there it was not yet open to the public. They are doing a great service housing disaster relief personnel while they are fixing their damage. It was obvious while I was there that in better times this hotel is an outstanding resort. I can't wait to come back under better circumstances and see it in all it's glory. I have been a share owner for 20 years though have visites for over 30. The improvement has been outstanding. The hotel has an unbelievable potential to become a 5 star hotel without the 5 star expenses. Has the best beach in the metro area, huge pool, awesome view and has improve greatly in the lobby area. Hospitality is awesome and has improves even more. NHaving a bar and snacks at the beach A+. Gym very good, housekeeping changes for shareowners A+.
It still needs to improve in the rooms, please eliminate the rugs easier to maintain and gives a cleaner impression. Sofa beds are insanely bad no one can sleep there for one second. Though you have changed the hallway rugs bad choice looks deteriorated. I acknowledge all the improvmentaESJ has made and my congrats.
