A wonderful stay! We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and had a lovely stay here. The staff are superb and I mean every single person. Happy and friendly and so very helpful! Thank you! The rooms were spotless and we had a superb but unusual sea view and some stunning sunsets. The food was good and varied, though sometimes not very hot, but this was due to people holding open the chafing dishes longer than necessary. The snacks available were splendid and we really enjoyed authentic Madeira cake… Totally different to that which we have at home and also the Madeira wine. There is a tiny shopping mall opposite the hotel with a mini market, pharmacy etc really handy and good value. We're looking forward to coming back next year and for longer.

Stayed here last September for a first family holiday with a little one. Hotel was nice and clean, staff were fantastic especially with our little girl. Pool area is well maintained, and the beach is on the door step. Beach was clean, sun beds and parasol available for a couple of euros for the day.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Savoy. The staff were all friendly and efficient and everywhere was very clean and tidy. It's in a quiet area of Madeira so perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. The food was ok. We went all inclusive which was good value for money but I found the food quite bland and the themed nights offered limited variations. The evening entertainment wasn't quite to our liking but seemed in keeping with the hotel and area. Plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day even when other people 'reserved' them. Direct access to a man made beach which was nice.

Good Hotel, beautiful Gardens, rooms absolutely with a view to the Sea book. Many small Cafes and a Top Museum, should be a fantastic View, very modern Architecture and much more …

Weather not so great but hotel very clean very tidy lovely food good facilities I would say more suited to young family or couples over the age of 55

Great location, they gave us an upgrade, nice staff on reception, the resturant staff was welcoming and helpful, food was ok if you are really hungry, basic drinks only, coffee was horrible, a lady on bar was a little bit rude, every time someone takes a drink she shakes her head as if she doesn’t like their way or attitude, com’on it’s all inclusive so take it easy. Beach is super nice, it’s for free anyway!

All inclusive holidays with self service catering. Plentiful constant stream of varied culinary dishes. Dining area was clean, very good service from staff serving drinks and clearing tables. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very clean, very comfortable and bedrooms are likewise. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. There is a taxi rank right outside the hotel and a little supermarket and pharmacy. Pleasant location on south side of the island.

Friendliness, and good compromise quality, price.

Four star hotel. Nice staff. House in itself very clean, from and onwards one but the ants, both in the breakfast room and in the rooms.
Deduction for partly bad to no Wi-Fi connection in the rooms (fifth floor did not even have power for sending a textemail! ).
Great location right on the only sandy beach that Madeira has to offer. Two bars in the house, lunch and dinner daily changing buffet themes.

Perfect for a nice holiday. Beach Puscine… Ideally located on to have access (by car or bus) to the inevitable spots. Home + Services + Catering + cocktails + Hamam + all in fact.

Lovely friendly hotel where staff go out of their way for you. Clean and tidy. Meals are buffet style morning, noon and evening. Don't expect Michelin star cooking, but it is good for a buffet. Very big beds. Pool cleaned and checked every day. Lots of sun beds to choose from. Beer and wines are decent as are snacks between meal times. Entertainment most evenings. We were very happy despite the poor weather.

All inclusive of everything you need for a restful seaside holiday. Endless good food and drink, lots of places to sit, indoor and out for the unpredictable weather in winter/spring. There are short local walks and trips from the hotel as well as longer organised tours. In house entertainment every evening and daytime cookery class, quizzes and kids' club. Book early to eat at the à LA carte restaurant.

Nice hotel, but location is right out the way. There is nothing to do in that area, unless you are fit enough to walk and walk and walk. Food is just about ok, could be a lot better. Even the A la carte restaurant wasn't all that, if you want a spirit drink with your meal, they don't do it, only wine or beer and of course water.

Restaurant bathrooms with intolerable sexist signs on the doors: the boys thought of football and the girls to go shopping.

Very professional, the staff speak several languages, good atmosphere, there are animations every day with CATIA or Diego, we are quiet.

What a lovely surprise this hotel was everything you could possibly want! Staff really helpful and friendly. Sunshine at this time of year is just right. Thank you for a wonderful break. :-)

Food is very good, lots of fish which was very good for us. The staff is nice and friendly, everything was nice clean, the rooms are cozy. What we did not find good, the animation in the evening are too boring, in this direction is still something to be improved.

Local Personal establishment and food.

Great hotel, all inclusive, nice staff that strives to be German. The main languages are English, French and, of course, the Portuguese language. But all very nice and friendly here. The food tastes with many variations.
The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean.

Nice and clean, but the pools are too cold to use, inside and out and the food is dull often meat so tough it in inedible.

Staff is extremely nice, nothing seems to be a problem! We arrived late and the dinner was over but they still let us in to grab something to eat and offered drinks too! The food was ok on the first night but it's gone downhill from there — food is the reason for the 3* rating really. Very little choice, everything has got olives in, the only edible option seems to be chips and fish (different each night). Even breakfast was disappointing — scrambled eggs were tasteless, pancakes tastes like paper… Little choice of bakery. Facilities are good, rooms are basic but clean and we got upgraded to sea view room. No shampoo/ conditioner in a room. All in all I guess this is a good value for what we paid although the food could have been better.

Value for money Cheap deal on Travelzoo for all inclusive week. Excellect if remote hotel, all drinks known brands, food plentiful but as served as a buffet not as hot as we would have liked it.

Very good hotel. We have booked all inclusive and have not regretted it so far. The staff are all friendly and will help you ever further. The location is Fantastic. If you stay here you should take care that you have a sea view!
The buffet is varied for the size of the hotel and in the evening there are changing themes during dinner. A lot of animations are also offered.

Hotel is good, staff are friendly and very helpful. It is very quiet here and not a lot to do except chill out. Very good day trip to Funchal. The holiday and hotel very good value for money.

The hotel surpasses any idea: already at the reception absolutely friendly welcome, family atmosphere and the service is fast, friendly and Responsive. In case of small complaints, every wish is fulfilled in a few minutes. The food has top quality and also the drinks are Exquisite. The hotel is manageable with short running paths, pleasant animation and everything very clean and well maintained.

Very nice hotel, quiet and well located.
The buffet well executed but with things to improve, in my opinion little variety although the quality of the product is remarkable. For anyone who is a diver there is a diving center five minutes walk highly recommended.

Quiet location, sandy beach right next to the hotel.

Very clean hotel with very helpful staff. The hotel is in a quiet area which is what we booked this hotel for. The room we stayed in overlooked the beach, marina and sea. Lots of sun loungers around the pool which was a nice size. The hotel had gate access for short cut to beach. The beach was very swimmer friendly. Across the road from hotel was a little supermarket, chemist, beach shop and tour shop to book excursions but most of these could be booked at the reception in hotel, most of the trips etc you have to go to funchal (which is about 30 to 45 minutes by coach and 10 euros more per person) On most fridays in funchal the cruise liners docked so would advise not to visit there on this day as very busy. Would go back to stay at hotel.

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff speaking a number of languages. The food and drink selection is great for an all inclusive resort! Be prepared though as it is a bit remote but with daily tours and shuttle services and great nightly entertainment you will find you might not need to leave.

Good location The room was very good and clean. Staff generally welcoming and very responsive. However being in Formula All Exclusive, we found that there were very few choices on the diet… very limited alcohol. Very repetitive meal. Recommend breakfast only formula, which is this one very complete.
Lots of extra… cleaning the pool towels. Beach Transat… safe room…

Please note this comment is for the lookall bar ONLY. We did not stay at the hotel but came to the bar at the end of the afternoon after a walk to enjoy a beer on the terrasse. Terrible (no) welcome from our waiter, we asked what beers were available, he did not answer and came back with the 2 cheapest beers. Other customers had peanuts wand smiles with their drink, we did not get any. The way you dress seems to rule to service you get at this bar.

Nice hotel if you choose the rooms with sea view. If you want a good spa choose the Saccharum Hotel.

Hotel is situated on the sandy beach of Calheta. Sea view rooms offer great views. Food is good but hardly change. Especially the selection of fruit is not very large, with the offer of the island. Wi-Fi is in the bars and the lobby without cost. Staff is friendly and helpful. Every evening there are animations in the bar up to 22:00. Then it is quiet in the House. Good starting point for Ausglügr and walks, car rental is recommended.

Great hotel on a man made beach. Has a great time.

Great hotel, with great access to the small sand beach. We visited in mid November and there were mainly older folks with the odd young family, this meant the pool area and other places around the hotel were quiet and peaceful largely all day. The rooms are of a good size and are well kept. Staff can't do enough and seem very genuine. The breakfast and dinner buffets were always well stocked with foods which varied from day to day… There's always something for tastes. We'd be happy to come back again.

Are very satisfied with the hotel and the staff. While already down a bit down and the facility is in the suite, compensate the views about it but sea as well as the spacious design. It is advisable to rent a car prior to arrival if you would like to explore the area. Although day trips are offered, however, great differences in altitude are to overcome even for small walks, buses run only every 4 hours from here, on Sunday only 2 x. A taxi from and to the Airport (hour) can 70-€100 cost, after Funchal about 40-€65 — depending on the order situation of the driver and their mind.

Nice hotel at one of the few sandy beaches of Madeira. Food is good quality, the selection for 4 stars but relatively small. Cleaning of the room could be better. A room with a sea view, otherwise Outlook on the road is recommended or The front of the main building and in the annex upstairs are an EKZ below and a parking garage! Small animation. Nevertheless recommended.

The four stars comes from the year 1999 and it shows. If you get an older room, ask for a change.
Wi-Fi is outrageously expensive, drum around there's enough open and free in the lobby of two terminals.
The food is alright but not varied.
The beach doing here, as well as the volume of the bars at the weekend. Plan more alcohol from the adequate bar.
