We came here during lent season but we're not celebrating lent so I wasn't able to fully enjoy our stay because I'm maarte. But service is really good, food is awesome, rooms are clean and furniture makes you feel at home. Pool is clear and the place isn't so crowded (sorry I love quiet places). All in all, this place ia cool and would surely go back. Kudos!

The quality of service and experience for the price you pay is definiteky worth it. Rooms are huge and they look nice. You can also get cheaper price if you book more than 30 days before your stay, just book directly on their website. Place is conveniently located at the heart of a business district and just a few minutes walk away from one of the largest mall in the country. You also get free breakfast which is buffet type. There is a chef at the breakfast place who will cook an egg and pancake at your request. You can also choose between omelette, scrambled, or sunny side-up egg. Pool is not very big but there's only a few people who are swimming.

Clean hotel/condo great staff very friendly, ammenities are acceptable good for an affordable 1 or 2 week stay.

Great hotel in a prime location. Room was big. The internet was fast and the service was excellent. Several shopping malls we're just a 5-10 minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again!

Friendly and helpful staffs. The room is VERY spacious. It's more than what you paid for. The location is convenient. Parking is limited but there's a parking beside pancake house which is just below the hotel. I enjoyed my stay here. No complains. I would book here again for sure.

5 star for service — One of the friendliest and best service I have seen. Even when I messed up my own booking twice including the rooms and and the beds required, staff are more than willing to go out of their way to rectify the issue for me. Room services are prompt and very friendly. 4 star for the room — as usual this is not a 5 star hotel, so its good for what you are paying. 5 star for pricing — For a budget and decent stay, its a good bang for your bucks, for first timers to Manila, I would highly recommend this place. 2 star for check out — The check out bit is the main reason why I didn't give it a 5 star, check out with still very manual, on average on my last few visit I wanted in the lobby between 0.5 hrs-1.5 hrs before checkout is finalised. (invoicing etc. ) Would I stay here again? Personally probably not, I have moved on to experience other hotels in and around the area. Would I recommend others to stay? Definitely! it all depends on your budget and the experience though. The location of the hotel is also very good and close to SM Megamalls, food outlets, markets. Clean and a very modern high rise area. Did I mention the added bonus complimentary room upgrades for regulars? =)

Good for the cost. Spacious rooms if a bit run-down. Pool is small but very clean. Breakfast is limited but still good.

Impressed by the hotels gym facilities, although the hotel room was the standard room, I felt the hotel amenities could use a revamp inside the rooms rather than a lick of paint. Was bitten like crazy by mosqitoes inside the room and the amenities in the apartment felt reused when some should of been replaced. It held its 3.5 stars due to the price. 3.5 stars.

Nice place really enjoyed our stay there. Good location too, mall and other establishments are easily accessible.

5 stars for my personal 5 star retreat whenever I visit Metro Manila. It's a central location to many local spots like Makati, BGC, QC, and others. Plus it's next to the famous Mega Mall, which is at least 5 blocks long and 7 storeys high. Full of shops and restaurants, the decision of where to eat brings me the most challenge. Oh by ghe way, I've recently learned that the city that hotel is in, which is Ortigas, has now banned public smoking. I am a fan of that. I can say more, but you'll see that the hotel is complimented well with its surroundings.

It is still a pretty cozy place to stay. The rooms are still well maintained though a little dated. Some beds already sag just a little bit and best if they are replaced. The pool area is still very good. The frontdesk staff were really efficient and professional even during pre-booking stages and during our stay. The breakfast area definitely need to be bigger though.

Little to no available complementary parking at all for paid guests. They instead offer paid parking for an hourly fee which is always available. No immediately available kitchenware. You still need to wait for 1-2 hours for the items to be available. Delay in check-in time for at least 2 hours. Very bad experience with concierge staff. Will not reccommend to anyone or ever book again.

Beautiful place to visit. Sadly super tagal ng service especially upon check in. Takes 2 hrs to check in pa lang.

Budget friendly hotel, not to mention its proximity to malls, restaurants and many more. Staff are friendly and facilities are good. Kudos!

First off, I arrived today around 2:45pm but check-in is taking a lot of time to wait for your room considering I already arrive almost an hour late from the usual check-in time. Second, their parking slot is on a first come first serve basis. In short, if you came in late you gotta shoulder your own parking fee. Parking fee at the hotel is at P60 for 1st 3 hrs while succeeding is at 20 per hour. I just don't understand why do I have to wait for this long. I'm so disappointed. And this hotel has a lot of flies in the lobby area. Geez.

CHECKING IN: I think we waited for around 30 mins to be checked in, medyo mabagal than other hotels I've been to. Parang 3 staff lang kasi yung nasa front desk and hindi lahat available, 2 out 3 are answering the phones so iisa lang yung nag assist samin. ROOM: Stayed here for overnight with my bf. We had the 1 bedroom suite. The room is big, spacious and its clean naman buuuut the lights are so gloomy, hindi sya well lighted. The furnitures are old, yung iba sira sira na. NEEDS: Its my first time to check in in a hotel na for request lahat ng toiletries and slippers. Unlike in other hotels I've been to, ready na kagad sa may CR, in this particular hotel every time you need something tatawag ka pa sa housekeeping. Also, hindi lahat availabe. There was a sign in the bathroom saying that we can request for dental kit, sewing kit, cotton buds, cotton pads etc. But when we called the housekeeping, dental kit lang daw meron. Kaloka, para saan pa yung sign. Dental kit lang pala meron. Haha. My bf also needed pressing for his polo kasi we had to go out for dinner, when we called the housekeeping wala din daw available na iron. Lahat na lang wala. Kaka disappoint. Breakfast: I was not satisfied. Yung egg drop soup nila matubig, walang lasa. Walang variety of fruits, watermelon lang ang meron. The drinks are not cold, yung staff only placed ice sa juices nung dumami yung tao, pero breakfast started ng 6am and we were there almost 8am na.

We have stayed in The Malayan Plaza Hotel, Pasig, Philippines, all in all 6 times, 2 occasions in 2013, january 2014 & 3 occasions in jan to feb 2016. Before traveling to Manila in 2013, we spent a week in Hongkong at the Holiday Inn Hotel at Nathan Road. During our vacation trips to the Philippines in 2013 for 1 1/2 months, we visited our relatives in Manila & Quezon City and as tourists visited different parts of the Philippines like Tagaytay, Bikol & other Provinces along the way to Legaspi City, Mt. Mayon We are very, very satisfied in staying in Malayan Plaza hotel. The location of the entrance of the hotel at Opal Road is calm & peacefull. Just across ADB Avenue, 5 mins walk is the Podium Mall. Robinsons Galleria is 10 minutes walk North at the corner of ABD & Ortigas Avenue. The EDSA Shrine, Catholic Church is beside the EDSA entrance of Robinsons. The huge SM Megamall, A & B Section, is also 10 mins walk towards the west parallel to EDSA Road. One should not miss to visit Din Tai Fung Restaurant, a Manila Branch, Ground Floor, serves excellent Dim Sum. The main branch is in Singapore City. The very modern East & West Wing of Shangrila Megamall towards South West is 15 — 20 mins walk. Opposite the Shangrila Hotel is the St. Francis Catholic Church. The old Wack Wack Golf Club is also near, just parallel to EDSA to the west. Quite easy to get a taxi to get to the nearby shopping centers like Greenhills in San Juan, Pasig City Center etc.

Well this is a nice place to stay, there are a few things to take into account. Firstly, you will get charged for your calls. That was not explained to me or and any of the details that I found. The overall cost for the calls was only 100 Philippine pesos which isn't too bad. Another thing that concerned me was that the room had tiny black ants that would show up. While ants are a pretty common thing I was on the 21st floor not the ground floor. Another concern is parking. At one point of my stay there was a night where there was no parking with the exception of a paid parking spot instead of a complementary. Luckily the front desk was able to get that squared away and we didn't have to pay for parking. Apparently they share the parking with another building so be sure to reserve a spot. The security guard was a bit rude. He had a bit of a superiority complex. Beyond those concerns, my stay was pretty fantastic. Everyday the room was cleaned and the room was resupplied for two people with water, towels, and dining wares. One thing to know is that if you are doing additional travels that if you do not use your key that day when you come back the following day have the front desk reactivate your key. It will have been deactivated. The front desk personnel are fantastic. Friendly and fast people to work with and very kind. The room is pretty big. I was able to stay there with my fiance and we had plenty of room.

Nice property to stay in. Reaidence apartment with full kitchen set up. No washing machine.

We had an awesome stay in the hotel. We stayed in 2 bedroom suite. It is very spacious, simple, and relaxing. My kids enjoyed their stay as well.

Hallway is a bit dark. Elevators make you wait forever. Breakfast is bland and not delicious at all. Room is spacious though.

Hotel is fine, needs more charm, but has adequate beds, showers (no tub), lots of public spaces for a tight studio type hotel. Feels more like a Condo. Pool is sufficient and open late. Breakfast was fine. I was dissapointed with the omelette but took other items from salad bar and the omelette cook amazed me with his artistry when challenged. That's why I gave it a 4. Just challenge the staff, they just might deliver! :)

There are ants and cock roach. My son had a big bite on his legs. Which is bad because after that day it was his baptismal. So people were asking where he got the big red bites. And I had no choice but to tell then he got it from the hotel. But in fairness, they transferred us in to a different room. Which looks cleaner. Staff are nice too.

Nice staff. Clean room… Good breakfast… My family like this place… But for my case Except the pool. The pool is good … if you always turn on the filter. You had so many guest using the pool from day to night… 6am till 10pm make sure the pool is clean. I didn't use your pool because of some kinda oily in the water that night…

Place is very simple, accessible and most importantly… You are surrounded by Korean restaurants…

I don't if it was just our room but this hotel felt very unmaintained and ermmm a little depressing.

Stays in a very old room. All furniture is outdated, however the deluxe room is very spacious. Seems that it was.

October 2014 was my first visit to the Philippines and my trip was great, the staff at Malayan Plaza were friendly, helpful and always there if you needed them. The rooms were very spacious and clean, as in other comments the decor was a little dated but they are working on upgrading — I enjoyed my room and my stay. Breakfast was good, very nice view from the 33rd floor while eating. I will be traveling to Manila again in 2 weeks and look forward to another great stay at The Malayan Plaza, an excellent value for your trip to Ortigas. Keep up the good work!

Scary noise in lobby do your feeling to welcome. We booking room to 2adults and 1child with breakfast but child got breakfast with 200peso extra. Wi-Fi work only one device one time with ultra low 0.2Mbs speed. Swiming pool is very small with cold water = (One night and we go to try twin tower.

It is okay hotel because this hotel is very adjacent to malls or other establishments.

For its price, its good! Its the cheapest actually in ortigas as far as I know. What I like most is that its near to shopping centers. Sm, rob, podium, st francis. Yeah some rooms needs a lot of improvement, so if your a kinda choosy and have that extra go somewhere else.

Average place. Needs a lot of improvement in ambience and guest service.

My room had cockroaches and the bathroom floor had water under the tiles! They moved me to another room and the DVD player was broken and there wasn't even an alarm clock. The phones do not have voice mail and the door looks use old fashion keys that can be picked with a hairpin. Do NOT stay here.

Affordable. Friendly staff. Rooms are cramped. Hallways stink. Old amenities — CRT tv, noisy aircon units, no bath tubs.
