MADA GUEST HOUSE Hs
Reviews of MADA GUEST HOUSE Hs
This is a pretty good place, but seriously needs to improve the way they provide hot water. Roughly one out of two times we tried to take a shower (we stayed there about a week total), we couldn't get hot water until we contacted the young man at the desk to fix it (which he always could). If you stay there, make sure to always take a shower during desk hours so you can ask them to fix it (at night he’s there until 9pm or so), and not in too much of a hurry, because sometimes it takes awhile to find the staff. We tend to take showers in the evening, so maybe it's better in the morning.
The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable everywhere we tried it (ground floor, rooms 3, 4, and 6, rooftop hangout area). The rooms seem to vary widely in value for money, so you might think about taking a look before deciding. Our first one was cramped and had barely any outside light, and the second one was big, beautiful, and bright for only a few dollars more. The rooftop area (which includes an enclosed room with big windows) is the nicest place to hang out or work. The ground floor common area is kind of gloomy because it gets little natural light and they tend to turn some of the lights off whenever they can.
There’s a kitchen and they told us we can use the fridge, electric kettle, microwave, and dishes, but can’t cook. The location of the hotel is great, down a quiet alley a block from the Laykakota Market (where there’s lots of cheap food, household items, clothing repair, etc.
Best value for money we have paid in Peru. Comfortable beds with nice linen, clean rooms, well equipped and clean bathrooms with very hot showers. Breakfast was good too. Stored our bags whilst we were on tour. A little bit far from the main square but actually quite a nice walk.
Also the most quiet place we have stayed in Peru. They even have signs asking people to keep quiet which is an absolute dream.

Super super lovely place to stay in Puno. Incredibly clean and comfortable, especially for the price. Cannot recommend enough. Lovely staff too.
