We had a very pleasant stay here in Puno. We only stayed for one night but were made to feel very welcome by the friendly, helpful staff. There is incense burning and a little fire to keep warm, and board games including chess. The rooms are simple and comfortable, the showers were super warm. Perfect location in Puno too. Our stay was short, but the hostel seemed quite social with lots of people mingling downstairs. Definitely a great place for backpackers.
It is also easy to book taxis and tours from here, plus the delicious breakfast is included!

I booked through hostel world, where it said that reception is 24 hours. But after midnight they locked the door and didn't let me leave. After calling the doorbell several times, they gave me the option that if I left I could only come back after 4 am. They also gave me the option of looking for another place in a dangerous place in the early hours of the morning. After that I was indignant in the living room using my cell phone and they asked me to leave the living room too. This is a report without opinions, just facts. In Brazil this would be a crime. Don't come, at the moment I have two options, either stay trapped outside, or stay trapped inside.

Hostel is always clean and in a very good location. Sayda at the front desk is a big help, she speaks excellent english and knows a lot about local traditions and history. Every morning is a very good breakfast. I was leaving for Cusco 6 in the morning and breakfast was ready… probably the best pancakes ever, thank you Sayda.
If you want to stay in Puno this hostel is highly recommended.
