Andean Hostel

It is a hotel that is run by scammers, trying to steal money from you by pretending that you did not show up for the reservation. They do this with every customer who books through booking. Com and when you confront them with the facts, they claim that it is a mistake. If this is a single mistake, I don't see why many people complain about similar facts in the reviews. Even more shameful to see 5-star reviews of fake profiles, non-existent people who have never gone to the hotel to hide their scams/bad reputation.
Apart from that, the list of things to reproach them is long…
— when we complained about the facts regarding their scam, two staff members openly made fun of us by laughing and playing on their phones while we talked to them.
— When we arrived in the morning at 7:00 no one opened the door for us because the staff was sleeping. The reception is always empty and the only time we see the staff is when they are lying on the couch playing with their phone. From time to time, they don't even open the door to people during the day preferring to be on the phone. It is shameful that other customers are forced at certain times to open the door to others.
— we left one night earlier because we got scared out. 4 people surrounded us, forcing us to delete the bad reviews and telling us that they would call the police if we didn't…

A lot of stuff about this place is pretty strange. Your experience will vary widely based on which of the staff members you interact with. There was also some scammy stuff I didn't care for.
1. When I checked in, they canceled my prior reservation, but put down that I canceled it. I have no idea why.
2. Instead of a bathroom vent, there is just a hole in the wall above the shower. It is impossible to sleep without ear plugs and the bathroom door shut due to barking dogs and street noise.
3. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. No in between. And I mean scalding hot, blowing steam out of the shower head.
4. I was locked out of the hostel four time in a 5 night stay, because the staff was asleep in the office at 10pm. And when you ring the doorbell, it wakes up the entire hostel.
5. Location is centrally located in a very safe area.
6. Trips that are marked as krusty tours are almost always outsourced to another company. On one of them, the driver was clearly drunk off his ass by the time we left the 90 minute enforced restaurant stop and driving on half lane wide, mountain roads with no guard rails like he was a rally cross driver, but we were in a 20 passenger van. I complained about this and didn't even get a response.
I guess I'd say that it was pretty good, but really really weird.
