We stayed over the Christmas holiday and had an incredible time, the only part we disliked was leaving. Cant recommend the people, food, rooms and ambiance highly enough! We cant wait to come back!

Super nice facility. Great bungalow and very nice and accommodating host in a beautiful Caribbean island. Today, we discovered a great beach for us. And sloth, and monkeys, and great birds… in Short… We love it.

I cant say enough good things about the service. Super friendly and helpful. The food was excellent at a good price. Save room for the brownie with homemade icecream!

We are currently on our honeymoon here, what can I say, we have never seen such a beautiful place (and we were already a bit on-the-go)
this property is just Fantastic! You will feel like home and will also be received just as warmly as you would a family member which was not seen in a long time. The rooms, the beds, the bathroom is all so beautiful and with so much love. There will be no wishes remain open. We may be in the middle of the nature, hummingbirds, monkeys, Opossums, and sloths to observe! The food is so excellent I don't even know how to describe it. Well, so you realize, we are very enthusiastic and this is not due to the delicious Margarita I just take to me :)
Whether I would recommend it? Shit yeah, I don't want to leave here!

A cabin overlooking the Caribbean Sea nestled in margin of the jungle. Hummingbirds feeding from the flowers at the edge of the terrace.
You will awake to the surf crashing and howler monkeys calling from the trees behind. Betsy will greet you cheerfully for breakfast. Gary will share his knowledge of the flora and fauna, and point out the sloth hanging from a tree or taking a siesta in branches.

Great menu and food! The Saturday night BBQ is awesome!

I strongly recommend this place. It exceeded our expectations which were already high. This place is a paradise. Truly. Betsy and Gary, our hosts, are gems. The food and drinks are spectacular. I cannot say enough about this lovely little hotel.

Absolutely adored this place. Gary and Betsy could not have been more friendly and accommodating. From the moment when we arrived they made us feel like absolute VIPs, ensuring we had everything we needed, they planned excursions for us, booked taxis and provided wonderful recommendation on what to see and do. They clearly built this lovely place with so much love and it comes through in every detail. It’s completely off grid (rain catchments and solar power) but you’d never be able to tell because they plan and care for this place so we’ll. The food was absolutely incredible, some of the best we’ve ever had — make sure to order the papaya chutney. We were looking for a chance to get away, disconnect, and relax and this was the perfect spot to do it. We’ll definitely return in the future.

Amazing B&B right by Playa Bluff! Very quiet and private property with nice spacious rooms. The hosts, Betsy and Gary, are so nice and helpful. They came with suggestions for activities in Bocas del Toro tailored to our needs and arranged transportation for us, both in Bocas del Toro and in Panama City. They have a restaurant and bar on site, where both food and drinks are great! Will definitely recommend staying here!

Incredible. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered and expertly executed. From the linens to the lighting, the showers to the pool, every amenity that you could ask for has been provided. Forget the TV, you won't even miss it. To top it off, the dining at the on-site restaurant is absolutely first rate. You will find yourself returning again and again even after venturing to other restaurants on Bluff Beach and beyond. Gary and Betsy are gracious hosts and the entire staff works together to ensure a truly memorable stay. 5/5 highly recommend.

Excellent good and service.

Had a fantastic meal here, as our hotels restaurant next door was closed. Fab Argentinean bbq, excellent hosts and service with an array of wildlife next to the dining area.

I was there just for dinner and I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. We had Steak and Tuna Filet and it was excellent. The drinks (Cocktail and wine) were good too. Although the prices are high the food is absolutely worth it.

We stayed at The Hummingbird for three days. Paradise doesn't even begin to describe it! It is an absolutely idyllic location with beautiful rooms with doors that open up to the most amazing tropical gardens. Gary and Betsy are incredibly gracious hosts and offer amazing breakfasts and dinners. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach, the feeling of being pampered, the wonderful beds… we could not have asked for more. We came away from this experience completely re-energized!

A lovely boutique hotel set in a tropical garden. The hotel is just across from Bluff beach, which is wild, undeveloped, empty and beautiful — and a protected turtle-nesting site — but the sea can be too rough except for strong swimmers. The stylish rooms are clean, comfortable, and fitted out to a high spec. I was worried about the lack of a/c, but the rooms are well ventilated by a ceiling fan and by the ocean breeze, and going to sleep and waking to the sound of the ocean was idyllic. We enjoyed the food and menu at breakfast and dinner, which was interesting, varied, with good use made of locally available and seasonal ingredients, though no lunch is served during low season. No request was too much trouble for affable owner-managers Gary and Betsy. Gary was always quick to point out the regular wildlife visitors to the well-maintained grounds — we saw sloths, howler monkeys and hummingbirds. Very good value — you'd pay far more to stay in a hotel of this quality in other parts of the Caribbean. Highly recommended.

Really nice Hotel and super nice staff. The owners try everything to make you happy and having a pleasent stay. Would love to come back here. The location is bit away from Bocas Town but really quiet and you can enjoy the nature. You have a good chance to spot wildlife such as sloths Monkeys, Lizzards etc.

Beautiful place with a lot of attention to detail furnished. Comfortable, clean and nicely decorated rooms. Electricity is generated with solar cells and water is fed from rain tanks. Beautiful garden with pool and sloths. Food is terrific! Good mix of beach and rainforest.

An amazing retreat in the jungle. A wonderful place to watch the waves, sloths, and hummingbirds. The owners and staff are so kind and helpful and will do their very best to make your wishes come true. The food and drinks are amazing; everything is so fresh and tasty. I can't wait to return.

The painting is beautiful, kept very carefully. We had lunch there tacos and burgers very good … I recommend the brownie with cocoa of the region, for 2 people minimum!

The Hummingbird Bed and Breakfast is my absolute favorite place to stay. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the rooms are amazingly handcrafted. Betsy and Gary, are incredible. They attend to each and every detail. Betsy's breakfasts are a treat! Fresh fruit, and breakfast to order! We decided to eat at the restaurant most meals as the food is clearly the BEST on the island. We saw monkeys and sloths right outside our bedroom window. The sound of the ocean's waves lulled us to sleep. This place is heaven on earth, I highly recommend the Hummingbird Bed and Breakfast, thank you Betsy, Gary and Osa for making my vacation the best by far! I will see you very soon!
