Sand Diamond Hotel

Do not stay here. This is not a 4-Star hotel by any measure other than the price they charge. There is nothing near the hotel that a tourist would visit. Staying here did not add convenience for a cruise departure.
We had to switch rooms three times to find a room with working Wi-Fi and hot water. This required a room downgrade.
The hotel was not well-served by ride share services. A shuttle to the port was available, but at 3x the cost of ride-share.

This is an excellent hotel. My husband and I stayed here over a week while we were working in Shelter Bay marina. Our room was spacious and very clean and had lovely linens and powerful A/C. The few issues we had were dealt with very promptly. The Wi-Fi was mostly good; we lost connection a couple of times and had to ask at the front desk and they seemed to be able to fix it. A huge shout out to Kathia and Madeline at the front desk who were so helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. (In fact, all the staff with whom we interacted with were good. )
The pool is nice; I enjoyed a couple of swims. The gym is basic but at least there is one.
I appreciated that there was always coffee and hot water/tea in the lobby. We ate a couple of nights at the buffet in the hotel. It was convenient and well priced; make sure to try the soup—delicious.
The hotel bar has loud karaoke on the weekends; but it was a chill place to have a drink during the week. (The bar decor felt dated… think of it as retro or kitsch. )
The hotel felt very safe and the staff were available to advise on where was safe to go (basically only the Colón 2000 mall and the duty-free zone). We were able to walk directly into the duty-free zone from the backdoor of the hotel. It was fun to see.
There is a Burger King, a casino, and a Lebanese restaurant in the same area as the hotel.

I had a less than satisfactory experience at the hotel. Toiletries were not replenished, the shower was not working, and towels previously used by guests were reused. These issues affected my overall stay negatively.

This hotel could be a nice place to stay if they would keep up with its maintenance. The furniture (in the room) is dirty, stained, disgusting, the shower has what looks like mold or dirt in the shower, the shower heads needs to be replaced, the drapes are dirty/ dusty, and most are off the rods making it difficult to open and close. They're NO available suites, as they keep saying, those are being remodeled (2 yrs ongoing). I stayed at this hotel several years ago after they had recently opened. Fast forward to 2022, the hotel has deteriorated so much that I ended up checking out early after 2 room changes because of the lack of keeping up with simple maintenance.

My stay at this hotel was underwhelming. In fact I checked out early and stayed my last night in Panama at the Crowne Plaza. My stay there was as different as a day and a night.
Your hotel is dated, it has a mildew smell. It's dark and dingy. It needs cleaning from top to bottom. It needs new carpet new bedding. I have stayed there several times. This however was the worst. I will not be staying here again.

Fantastic! Clean and spacious rooms, excellent customer service, delicious food, cozy bar, well maintained pool and social areas. All around a wonderful experience.

This hotel is in need of maintenance. Lots of mold in the bathrooms, floors dirty, curtains not functional. The rates vary depending on who you are, where you're from and who's at the reception desk. You're pretty much forced to include the buffet in your rate. And if you refuse to add the $15.00 buffet, you're not allowed / given the option to even purchase a cup of coffee. It's either the $15.00 + tax buffett to get a cup of coffee or nothing. Towels are a commodity. If you ask for an extra towel you are told one for one. No in room coffee, no complimentary coffee. The staff seem a bit condecending. The pool … I wouldn't dip my toe in it. Lunch is the same, buffet or go home. However; dinner is a la carte. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The breakfast I do not recommend at all, with my family we have 7 consecutive years of coming here and the breakfast is always the same. Bread, ham, cheese, unsalted egg, pancake, ice cream and fruits at least before they put desserts and customers killed hunger with desserts. Rated 0 hotel food and most hotel guests have the same criteria for breakfast. The hotel owners should do something to improve changing the chef and the menu as it is a failure.

The facilities are very spacious. Beautiful.

We had a good stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean room with comfortable beds. Free bottles of water in the room was nice. The pool was clean. Covid Sanitation in place.
At the restaurant, Mr. Young is truly a hard worker and very polite. Highly recommended.
