Still the most beautiful view from the hotel over the Fjord. Cosy warm rooms with a warm charming welcome of the hotelstaff. The best rooms are the frontfacing rooms where you can follow the ships on the sea and enjoy the view over to the ice cathedrale.
I met the General Manager Aart Niemans and I felt like meeting an old friend again. He takes care about EVERYTHING and especially the guests are most important for him, to be happy and satisfied.
Iwill make my bookings next year again with the Radisson Blue Tromsoe.

It's a great hotel. If you're an international traveler, the general language for getting stuff done is going to be English, but YMMV. I didn't need an adapter for the outlets because my room had USB ports in the wall. Otherwise, the blackout curtains were okay at blocking out the midnight sun, but they could have been better. The front desk staff was very helpful and the breakfast offered was absolutely perfect. It's general seating, so plan accordingly.

Awesome place in a perfect location. The stuff is friendly and provides a lot information and service even with reserving a table for a restaurant. The room (Premium category) had a fantastic view was spacious and clean. The breakfast was the highlight and absolutely delicious. Would go here again!

This is a great hotel, and the staff are all very friendly. Great breakfast buffet came with the room. It offers a wonderful view of the bay, and is convenient to shopping, and bus lines.

It’s right in the bustle of things. Easiest to go out on your local trips & Northern Lights hunts. Clean, good sized rooms. Very friendly staff. The food is good.

Superb Hotel on the edge of Fiord right next to the boarding dock of the company "Hurtigruten" for your travels of exploration of the great Norwegian North. Hotel of international quality, room not too large, but functional, breakfast included at the buffet of Chez Charly's.

Rooms are rather small, which is not really important, as it is only used for sleeping anyway.

Quite a nice hotel. Good breakfast selection, nice facilities overall and great view over Tromso Harbour. We had a problem with the electrics in our room initially, we were moved to another (nicer) room, only to find the air conditioning thermostat hanging out of the wall! A little bit disappointing! Customer service was very good overall. We needed to make a call to our bank and the reception staff were more than happy to let us use the reception phone rather than expecting us to do so from our room and incur a charge.

We were given a standard room with a view and was overlooking another building … The breakfast is exceptional.

Nice hotel. Busy. Rooms clean tidy and reasonably sized — at least the ones we were in. Breakfast fine. Seem to cope well with special dietary needs well. Lifts arrived quickly and delivered you to your floor quickly. Sauna — 2 individual gender specific. Could take around 5 in each at one time — assuming both the same size — which is a little small for a big hotel in Norway. Clearly I could only go in the male one. Fitness room too small from a UK point of view, one of each bike, tread mill, cross trainer and weight benches and the like. Remember it is a big hotel. But presumably Norwegians get exercise in other ways. Good central position. Negatives are — poor lounge facilities. Insufficient room for a big hotel, also what is there is lacking in chairs and the like. Also standard tea making facilities in the room are poor. Previous hotels we stayed in in Norway had free tea and coffee in the lounge and that seemed standard for a lot of places. So nice hotel but we would be unlikely to stay again because of the negatives — but that is about personal preference rather than a criticism of the hotel itself. Nothing at all wrong with the hotel and the staff were excellent.

Everything was very clean and cleaning service was good.

A smart hotel located close to the harbour in Tromso. We only stayed for one night so this review is somewhat limited. Check in was a bit of a problem as for some reason our reservation showed up on their computer for the next night. After a short wait they did sort it out which was fine. Breakfast the next morning was average. There was a wide choice but some of it was cold and the scrambled egg was lumpy. Probably a catering pack. The hotel interior is smart and the room was very comfortable. Well located if you want to look around Tromso.

The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are not too big, the wardrobe is actually a mini shelf. Two people can't possibly stow their clothes here.
The magnificent view compensates this again!

Good choice but not as expected. There was no safe and wardrobe in the room. Hairdryer had low performance. The breakfast was excellent. Hotel has good location. Many tours have the meeting point at the hotel or nearby at the Tourist Info. Room was a bit noisy and we felt every door closing on our door.

Very confortable hotel, right on the city center next to everything and with a small but convenient sauna. Breakfast was very complete, and the attention of the staff was insuperable. We told them that on one morning we were leaving early, before breakfast was served, and they prepared some snacks for us.

In six days they never cleaned the room, the Asciugamai and the toilet paper we got them at the reception. Positive the hot drinks offered all day.

Really great location in central Tromso, just next to the water. Staff all welcoming and very professional. Room very clean, and nice layout. Very comfy bed. Good bathroom. Buffet breakfast, included in the room, is the best smorgasbord I've ever seen. So many options, for all diets and preferences. Gym, sauna, restaurants, bar. Expensive but very nice hotel.

The hotel is centrally located and offers a beautiful view of the sea and the opposite bank. The breakfast is very plentiful and the staff friendly.

Fine room. Heated bathroom floor is awesome. Slightly odd and annoying that the only outlet next to the bed de-energizes when you turn the lights off, so you can't charge your phone next to the bed.

The hotel is OK and nice with good bedding cons The restaurant n is really not level with in addition a salty bill. In any case if the price in relation to the service does not bother you, expect a good time.
The breakfast was well-stocked and good, go to dinner outside.

It's a nice hotel in the town area. The breakfast spread is quite substantial. Nice.

Booked and paid in advance for double room with an upgrade to get a good view but when we checked in we were shown a room with 2 single beds with a view of an alley! When we complained we were told the hotel was full!? The reason was because I booked through Expedia! This info was delivered with a ‘shrug’ as if to say ‘tough luck’ ‘take it or leave it! ’ Things only started to happen when I was asked if I wanted to speak to the manager! I never spoke to the manager but the arrogant young man who did not care did and after a lot of sweating on his part and key clicking managed to come up with a family room a bit higher up! The next morning at breakfast I was asked by a waiter named Bill (who was very helpful) if there was anything he could do for us. When I said yes get me the upgraded room I have already paid for he contacted reception and told us we should go there when we had finished breakfast. The outcome was an ‘upgrade ‘ to a business class room with a good view, a box of 4 chocolates and on our last night a free beer and a bottle of cava for one! They also offered a free meal in their restaurant or the pizzeria next door. This was all well appreciated but only because I had persisted in complaining to the arrogant check-in boy!

So, the hotel is just fine. I booked a junior suite and was put in room 953. Beautiful room, amazing view. Here's the problem. It is directly below the gym. If you want to sleep past 7am or take a midday nap forget it. I am leaving at 6pm to hopefully see the Northern Lights. It promises to be a late night so I hoped for a nap at 4pm. The pounding of the treadmill ruined those plans. This morning, still jet lagged, I was abruptly awakened by the sound of weights slamming to the floor. I did not get the value I paid for this room. It's a real shame.

Not the poshest of the radissons. On the floor of the laminate, breakfast is rather skimpy, the rooms are not huge and slightly ascetic. For example, there is no robe, no slippers. Of the pluses — a chic view from the last floors, a good gym with a sauna.

It can pass-off as a 4 star but the property is good. Very friendly staff. Room sizes are enough for 2 persons and 1 bag. Breakfast was good. So was dinner. Located next to the waterfront makes it convenient; hardly 10 minutes drive from 2 airport. Small and good.

Clean comfortable to embark on Hurtigruten, you reach the centre of Tromso on foot. Recommended.

We are in a business room and it's quite lovely. The coffee is great and the breakfast that comes with the room is good. I wish they had the traditional salmon lox but the fresh bread is amazing and there is a wide variety of eggs meats and cheeses as well as fresh yogurts, oatmeal and toppings. I'm partial to the jam and toast with Brie. The espresso machine in every room is spectacular and the breakfast hall has a machine that makes any coffee drink — it's better than a Starbucks. The location is prime — Right by the water and walkable to everything downtown — and after the free breakfast the restaurant serves lunch and dinner — those are both fabulous. The staff is the most lovely bunch of people. They are so helpful and really go above and beyond. The "Top Relax" gym on the 10th floor has a beautiful view. The equipment is limited if you like weight machines, but they have a great array of free weights and some cardio equipment — totally enough to keep up your routine on the road. And the sauna with a view of the whole city is lovely. I've never seen it crowded. It's a great hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone! I'm sure I will be back.

Comfortable and pleasant hotel stay in with welcoming staff. However beware of the door on the room's they open out into the hallway!

Very nice weekend at tromsø. It was 30 degrees and no wind or clouds. The hotel felt amazing, the breakfast was good.

We stayed one night at this hotel but had stayed there last year. We had a great time, the location is great, the rooms perfect and the breakfast buffet varied and of excellent quality.

Cosy and nice hotel with accessibility to everything. Restaurants, bus stop to the airport and shopping centres. Another reason for someone to choose this hotel is because of the super friendly staff it has. They are really helpful all the time for all your reasonable requests they could accommodate. I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again only because of this reason. Highly recommended.

Good location and service. We had a family room that was in desperate need of some renovation. Very nice breakfast.

Enjoyed our time. They could keep front doors on revolve instead of open as its very cold this time of year. Food OK local restaurant 69 excellent if you fancy a really good meal. As everything in Norway its expensive. Do not bother with the so called best Pub in Norway next door because it is not. Lots of other places to try. Whale watching, Northern Lights, Husky sledging all organised from hotel and all good quality trips. 9/12/14.

June 2013 hotel in very good condition, staff in hand, the hotel is located in the heart of tromso and in front of the docking of the vessel gurtigruten rating 8, 5.

Excellent breakfast, free Wi-Fi (though slow at times), clean room. Centrally located. Bed is on the soft side.

Tromso is a quite a compact little place and a lot more modern than I was expecting. Sort of Witney on Ice. The Radisson Blu is a modern business class hotel in a brilliant location, right down by the water front, just a few metres from the main shopping area and round the corner from the TIC and bus station. The airport flybus stops opposite. A big bonus is FREE WI-FI and easy high speed connection. 10 out of 10 for location and being easy to get to. There are loads of restaurants within a 10 minute walk but be warned if you are going in winter — some of the pavements are like skating rinks. My room at the Blu was well thought out with great TV dead opposite a big comfy bed and a sparkling, yet quite compact, bathroom with shower over tub. Well stocked mini bar with enough spare space to store your own bottles and snacks. The staff were all fluent in English, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about both the hotel and the local area. Sk for a room high up that has views of the harbour. Some of the rooms on lower floors have a rather limited outlook. Breakfast was a comprehensive and very tasty hot and cold buffet included in the rate which was helpful as eating out in Norway is frighteningly expensive so load up at breakfast. They have 'real' milk so you can make a proppa English cuppa in the morning which is always a big plus with me.
