It's great. It is not very new, but it has many services, bathrooms, showers, kitchen with utensils, a living room to eat, good beds, they give you the sheets included in the price. Rooms with nice bunk beds. Mine was six women. I like it a lot. I advise you. The situation is perfect. One step away from the train station and a few meters from the Port.

The location of this hostel is great for those using the trains. It is 3 minutes walking from the station. I was however, extremely disappointed in the service of this establishment. Upon check in, she asked my name and if I’d like a towel and then gave me a key and told me the room number. Nothing more was explained as far as what they offer (Wi-Fi, common rooms, kitchen, etc). I also received zero information about my room setup and it was passed 1030pm so I couldn’t just barge in and figure it all out. NOTICE: private rooms have a separate room with lockers and a toilet so you don’t have to get situated in the dark while everyone sleeps (oops). ALSO, you have to make your own bed and when you leave, put the used sheets in a laundry bin (would have been nice to know upon check in). THEY HAVE FREE LUGGAGE STORAGE… but, unless you ask for the code the night before an early departure, you can’t use it because no one is at the reception desk. ALL WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT INFORMATION UPON CHECKIN! Don’t assume everyone just knows how it all works.

Location is awesome! The mexican guy from the reception is really kind and helpful. Price is ok (considering it's Norway). Bedrooms are clean and shares places are big and cozy.

We where 3 friends on a roadtrip in Norway. We stayed here one night as a layover. We arrived late and had no problem checking in, very smart system with the card readers. We where bit amazed when we first got here, as it was many and long corridors, but we found our room at last. We booked a room with private bathroom. They stay was comfortable and pleasant. Quiet and quite central. Have nothing bad to say about this place.

Great location. Close to the station and the fish markets. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Friendly helpful staff.

All very well. Recommended. It has everything a hostel has to have. And it's well located.

Great hostel! In all respects (not expensive by the local standards) : The main thing you can sleep and gather thoughts, there is everything for hygiene, kitchen, bed linen, rooms for rest (on any pocket). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the towel for an extra charge. Everything else is +.

Really good hostel, easy process to apply in and the front desk was very helpful. The place is clean, organized and have a really good localization, I totally recomend.

Well… considering its price, it deserves four stars. But actually I don't like this hotel. I booked a double bed room. The shower room was separated and was quite far away from my room. It wasn't very clean. I could also see water accumulated on the ground. But… its very cheap. What else do you expect?

This is a great hostel with everything I look for in accommodation: great kitchen (though small for the amount of people) and dining area. Cosy living area. There's a free computer to use and look for information. Awesome location! 5 minutes walking distance to the train station. Comfortable beds. Big lockers in the room. Many toilets and showers to use, in case the one in your room is taken. And the staff is very friendly! From the girl who checked me in and answered all my questions to the cleaning lady, thank you! I'd definitely be back when I'm in Bergen again.

Very nice hostel, very clean, good bathrooms and plenty of them, well equipped kitchen and comfortable dining and lounge area. Good location. Only down side was that you could only leave luggage after check out until 4pm, which is not very convenient if you are taking a late bus or flight. I think they should find a way to make this later as it is really quite inconvenient.

The place to stay if looking for budget options in Bergen. Highly recommend.

We stayed in a 4 people room with a really nice view of the mountains; everything was perfect, beds, shower and kitchenette. The only problem was that we had to use the shared kitchen to cook our food, which was dirty due to the other guests… But it is not a fault of the Guest house, so they have my total approval.

The hostel was very affordable and definitely worth the money. It was in a central location and easy to get to basically everywhere! The room I stayed in was nice and quiet and had a large restroom. It's difficult to meet people though as people tend to stick to themselves. But other than that, it served its purpose!

5 minutes ' walk to the train station. Square plane, from inside to outside in turn is inside courtyard, corridor, room, very good layout, share room's room is very big, the public bathroom is many, the room window also can see the North Floyn and the South Snow Mountain. The last day of 2017 was spent here for dinner eating the Arctic sweet shrimp and herring bought from the seafood market, chatting with the Thai and Colombian people about the bizarre topic, the 0-point room outside the window of the New Year fireworks, the original quiet city was flooded with cheers, this is my end to write this comment when I lived the most comfortable and most satisfied with the Green Brigade.

I highly recommend! Located in the Centre of Bergen, public transport or other means of locomotion are not necessary to get around, you can enjoy Bergen in a few minutes walk.
For the outlying places, the hostel is located not far from the terminus of the city tram (Bybanen) and you will also find different buses nearby.
From my personal experience, excellent value for money. The hostel is new, attractive and an amazing calm.
Common areas and clean rooms (housekeeping done daily) with personal bathroom + toilets for each dormitory (laundry shed, hairdryer available) but also possibility to use others located in the corridors nearby.
The staff is available and accommodating (for example for a late arrival at the hostel), lockers are available in the dormitories to tidy up the business, there is also the possibility to ask to put the suitcases in a confined space provided for.
You will meet people from all over the world and all ages.

This was the most pleasant stay I've had in a hostel. Clean, friendly, all the amenities to cook and shower, plenty of bathrooms, and excellent location. Kong Oscar Biljard is right next door, and has the best burgers and fries I've had, even compared to burger husets in Oslo. Så hyggelig! ❤️

Very modern, upmarket bed and breakfast with a backpackers vibe. Clean, convenient accommodation right in the centre of Bergen. Close to all the basic tourist attractions.

Nice stay, staff is so lovely. I got female room with bathroom inside, but has a lot of wc and shower room outside too. Everything is clean especially floor, you can walk bare foot. But kitchen is too small and very traffic in dining time. Kitchenware is so dirty, it look like someone don't know how too clean it.

Overall we had a great stay at the Marken Guesthouse. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers so you never had to wait. Dorm rooms were spacious, with plenty of light, and the beds were comfortable. It was also a quick walk to town and the train station. My only complaint was that one of the people staying there stole our food out of the fridge which was a really petty act. Not really the fault of the hostel but still annoying.

This is the first time I stay in a hostel. I was a bit scare about sharing room with strangers but this place made me feel real safe. The common area was so clean and neat. The bath rooms are constantly kept clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful pointing things like where and what to do. I would highly recommend this place even though you never stay in a hostel before. Also need to mention this place is so close to town and the train station.

Paid full price. Got a bunk bed room. Had to go to a pool hall for keys. Not easy to find parking. Not easy to find entrance. Shared bathrooms. Dirty. Would highly discourage anyone from staying here.

Convenient location from the Hubbrigan cable car, fish market, wooden buildings are easy to walk, but the room is very small inside the floor is too old, hope to improve.

Room is big! Friendly staffs. There is also a kitchen and several reading place.

Good location, great common room and lovely staff but the rooms are really small (the basic room we had was smaller than in the official pictures… with out luggage inside we barely had any floor space left) so it is an expensive price to pay for such a room!

Great location, close to the train, light rail (transport from airport) and the city centre. It was very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only negative was the kitchen area was small which made it a bit difficult to move around with multiple people cooking.

Great location near center of Bergen, walking distance to many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Nice amenities, but lots of guests here, which can be ok. Bit of street noise at night from nearby bars. Door entrance can be tricky because the building is shared with other businesses. If using a keyed credit card, be conscious of the time you said of arrival; it will only work then. Rooms are modest but the price is phenomenal and the other guests are respectful too. Reception is friendly and helpful, otherwise.

Came back from a day trip and neither of our key cards worked, as reception shuts at 16:30 and it was 18:15 there was no one to assist us. Called security as instructed by note at reception, waited until 19:10 to be let in by the security guard who informed us he couldn't do anything to fix our keys and he couldn't get hold of anyone from the guesthouse to do so. We were starving hungry, had no food and couldn't go out to get any because we wouldn't be able to get back into the building or our room! Disgusting customer service, totally ruined the last night of our holiday. I've never encountered such incompetence.

I went in December in off-season and it was very quiet. Far more relaxed than others. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great location, very easy to find. Very low price.
