Franz Josef is a small town. Location of this motel is in the heart of this town which makes it easily accessible from nearby restaurants and heli hiking places. Room is clean and service is good. At reception, we get guidance to everything that we need.

Nice accommodation, helpful and friendly staff. Within walking distance to glacier hotpools.

Wi-Fi is very unstable and slow.

A very nice small motel, with kitchenette and 2 bedrooms. Would have been nice if bathroom had seperate toilet. I would consider it a top 3* place close to everything.

Excellent accommodation in the "village" of the Franz Josef Glacier! My husband and I slept there one night on our honeymoon. By the standard of hotels/motels in New Zealand This was one of the best! Apartments complete with everything, we had a big entrance complete with kitchenette, fridge and living room with TV sofa and single bed, a spacious double room, a large clean bathroom and very large and bright windows. Quiet environment and out of the "Hustle" of bars and local neighbors. It can be reached on foot in a matter of minutes. Nice and friendly staff as always in New Zealand! Recommended!

Had a nice motel room, the terrace bordered directly to the rainforest, so you always had to turn on the light. Everything else perfect.

The accomodations were fantastic, we had plenty of space for the four of us and the staff was very helpful. A very cozy place to stay!

An apartment with everything you need (fridge, water heater, microwave, toaster, kettles, crockery and cutlery).
Everything is very clean, the tub has hydro massage and you are in the middle of nature.
Great to spend a few days!

It's a good place to stay for a night or two, I found their sign quite funny to avoid spicy foods since they smell. Nonetheless helpfull staff and friendly people. Woild recommend.

My partner and I had an amazing time here. The location is perfect, we had a beautiful rainforest just outside our room. The bed is super comfortable had the best sleep. The owner was so wonderful and helpful throughout our stay. The only issue we had was that we wanted to stay more than two nights because it was so good. Would definitely go back!

Everything is really good except for the Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi is quite dodgy and the fix to it is to turn off and on your Wi-Fi to fix it, we ended up using free Wi-Fi as restaurants as it was a lot more stable.

Love this place! Rooms cosy and warm with a fire, private deck with bush views & a spa bath just to top it off. Will definitely be back & I highly recommend staying here.

This place is fantastic! The apartment is very large and the view outside is marvellous. The receptionist is very kind and she has indicated us all places to have dinner. In only one word … fantastic.

Punga Grove hotel is really special — all the units at the back have individual decks — when you sit on the deck it's private and secluded with only the rain forest. The rooms are great and it's very close to everything — within walking distance. Free Wi-Fi. The hosts are really helpful and lovely. The rooms are very spacious. The Landing restaurant is only one block away. I recommend booking a room at the back with your own deck, it's well worth any extra cost :).
