Alpine Glacier Motel was fabulous place. Great position walking distance to everything. Clean well presented. We were looked after absolutely fantastically well thank you soooo much.

Recently we stayed in this motel for 2 nights. Location is awesome. Price we got was also good. Reception staff was good. Room was neat and clean. Room size for 4 (2 Adults + 2 kids) was bit congested. Very less space to keep luggage. Beds, bathroom and room heating was all good. Wifi was also good. Individual parking space is there but not sure how parking space is designed. You can't park parallel as well as vertical. I tried parking at angle but not possible to do it without some portion of your car outside of parking space. So encroached bit of sitting area just outside of our room to park the car at angle.

Such fantastic hospitality, a beautifulmodern room and amenities. I loved our night at Aline Glacier Motel and would recommend it to everyone!

We were upgraded to a king size bed room. Very hospitable hosts. Very clean room. Center of town with a great view from the veranda to the glacier.

Franz Joseph Glacier is beautiful. The restaurants are few, but generally of good quality. You can find food for omnivores, vegetarians and even vegans I'm town. The little grocer is quality if you'd rather stay in and cook. The motel offered milk and gave directions to everything in town. The front desk staff were a real resource. The back patio was a nice touch too. The rooms were spacious and comfy, but a little older. Nothing worrisome, but it's probably 3-5 years from some updating. We really liked the soaps and shampoos they provided.

Great accommodation experience. Nice working heater. Kitchen sink and utensils all provided. Towel warmer rack. Small fresh milk bottle was given upon check in.

Great stay for a 4 star hotel. I liked everything about it, it had towel warmers and the plug in heater was just enough to heat up the entire large room. Easy to park location, check out was flexible. Nicely refurbished bathroom, lovely for a family.

Nice and clean motel in the heart of town. It rained the whole time we were in town so we spent alot of time in the room! Nice guys at the front desk who were knowledgeable about the area.

Great location. However I do not believe it's worth the price we paid. Unfortunately, not many options in this tourist area. Wi-Fi barely works. Beds are old and very uncomfortable. "king bed" means two doubles put together, making an uncomfortable crease in the middle. The back deck are against the next rooms living room window, so no privacy. Very plain design in rooms.

Basic, but nice big rooms. Franz Josef is a more expensive area generally so price in line for that area. Parking is convenient right outside the rooms. Washing and drying facilities are a big help, but they don't have many hangers for hanging stuff in the room that you don't want to put in the dryer. Bed was comfortable. Overall ok to good, but convenience and comfort wins out for good.

Sarah and Ged made us very welcome the lodge is so homely, very clean. Added bonus us the best breakfasts we've had so far in New Zealand. Loads of amazing walking close by. Night skies fabulous.

Mark and Anthony are wonderful hosts. Staff answered questions regarding local activities. Rooms were clean and updated. Laundry room available. Rooms are in view of Franz Joseph Glacier.

We initially booked a queen-sized bed room and were upgraded to a king-sized bed room upon registration. Fully equipped kitchen, nearby to supermarket and the activity areas. Plenty of parking lots. Definitely worth the money to stay here!

Great place. We got given a free upgrade to a king room. Service was fantastic. Room was above expectations. Highly recommend.

Great motel. Easy check in. Rooms are large with simple kitchenette, which was more than adequate for our needs. Close to multiple restaurants and the wildlife center.

The photos are the view from across the motel. Units are nice and spacious, and appeared to be fairly new. Good working heater. Within walking distance of shops and tasty restaurants. Very quiet part of town. Close drive to the trail to walk to the Franz Joseph Glacier.

Great value for money. One of the nicest blokes on reception. Upgraded our room free of charge and was really helpful with our trips plans due to the earthquake and road closures. I believe his name was Mark! Great place and hospitality.

We have stayed here twice 2008 and 2012 and planning to visit again in September (2016). Both times we have stayed we have found the owners to be extremely friendly, genuine and helpful. Rooms are really comfortable and the facilities are great. Looking forward to our next visit. Have recommended this place to friends and work colleagues who said our recommendation was spot on.

Beat place to stay near to Franz Josef Glacier.

Comfortable beds and very big rooms. The heater worked beautifully. Free Wifi! However, I wasn't a fan of the bathroom as there was not enough counter space and the layout was a little weird/hospital-like. We borrowed a dvd player one night and it didn't work at all. Also, the bed sheets smelled of bleach. : (

This place is very basic and has everything you really need. Its nothing fancy but definitely worth the price. Came in for one night, the best surprise was the free unlimited Wi-Fi. The rest of the NZ hotels should really get off their pedestals and offer free Wi-Fi.

Nice Staff and very clean room with basic kitchenware which you are use for cooking. Good motel and highly recommend.
